  1. Sat in the JK clubs awhile back. Definitely more subdued. People were pretty nice, but felt disconnected from the game. Not rowdy enough Got into the bar area a few times also and that is were the fun is. Awesome bar, games on all the TV's and nice and warm.
  2. Hopefully it's back loaded with very little up front. Not feeling it with this signing after reading what some Raiders fans had to say about him on PFT: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...ackle/#comments Hope he's a respectable backup at the very least. Don't really care if he was a starter in Oakland for a few years or not, doesn't mean he's any good.
  3. It's the KC thing again. Wow. Usually teams pick coaches and talent from WINNING teams.....
  4. Surprised about Incognito. Seemed like a no brainer. I would have tendered him just for depth purposes. I wonder if the FO at OBD knows they can get some specific guys. I hope so.
  5. Not a problem with any of these cuts. You know these cuts were made with who may be able to replace them in mind. I'm sure the Bills have their eyes on some bottom tier UFA's who can help on ST. Probably guys they are familiar with. Anyway, I like the idea they already rid themselves of these guys. Not that it sets a "tone" for the new regime, but it's gotta make some of the guys think about their jobs.
  6. TJ offers much more insight to the pregame and post game shows than Berman. He offers his honest opinion, without all the fluff. Berman is stuck in his "Back, back, back" days and would hardly be missed by me if he left. ESPN is a machine and wouldn't miss a step if he left, how valuable is he?
  7. No big deal. Berman is a shell of his former self. NFL Primetime is a good wrap show, but it's all about Tom Jackson anyway. I'm all about continuity, but could care less if he ends up elsewhere.
  8. I'm not so sure I want McNabb, or Vick for that matter. Think McNabb is on the downside of his career. That being said, what other options do we have for immediate improvement at the QB position? Nothing available in FA right now, draft pick won't be impact player, and our QB's are suspect. I would give no more than a 3rd round pick for Mcnabb, or a much later pick for Vick using our 1st or 2nd round pick onthe "QB of the future". I just hate the fact it might turn into a bidding war and we end up giving up a higher round pick than he's worth.
  9. The hard part is over, but a long road is ahead of you. It sounds like you have quite the lady to help you! Congrats on getting better!
  10. 2010 Draft dates/times 1st round Aprill 22 7:30 pm 2nd and 3rd rounds April 23 6:30 pm 4th - 7th rounds April 24th 10:00 am http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true
  11. You can cook the books however you want to. It has to paid for somehow. No matter if it a traceable increase in taxes labeled "War tax", or just another generic tax without any specific destination, we are paying for it. The Gov. can also introduce spending cuts, such as social programs, that could help fund the war. But these programs would likely be picked up by State, or local Gov. with an increase in those taxes. Oh, and there is another thing called the National Debt. It's been spiraling out of control as of late, and to pay it off, yep, raise in taxes. Now, if only the Gov could somehow profit off the oil business....
  12. IMHO Apple computers are the way to go. It is a misconception that they cost considerably more, this is why. My Macbook cost me $999 in 2006, which included a $100 student discount. So for the sake of this argument, let’s go with $1099. I upgraded the 60 GB HD and 2 Gb of memory for $150.00, for a total outlay of 1,249.00. It is a 2.0 MHz, core duo laptop with 2Gb mem and 500 Gb HD. Now, my wife’s Toshiba cost $600, plus $90 for Norton antivirus, with a recurring charge of $80/yr for antivirus subscription for a 3 year total of $300. Grand total, over 4 years would be $900.00. Now, toss in an upgrade to a 500 Gb HD and you are talking $1000.00 (the PC has 3Gb mem). That makes in only $250 less than the Mac. Just based on the fact that at this time Mac's are not susceptible to adware, spyware and viruses, the $250 difference makes it worthwhile. If you need to run Microsoft software (gaming), you can run Vista/windows 7 using boot camp as they both need Intel processors. You can purchase MS Office for Mac if you need to, or you can get open-office or neo-office that work fine for every day stuff. Why do I love Mac? It's the ease of use. I have hooked up 3 digital cameras, 1 camcorder, and 3 different printers to the machine without a problem. Never had to search for a driver, it just worked. The Mac boots up in less than 30 seconds when it takes the Toshiba a few minutes...Norton is a resource hog. Mac OS X comes with iLife – Safari, Mail, iTunes, iMovie, all are great programs. My Mac surfs the web faster than any other compute I’ve ever used. Mail is an intuitive email program much nicer than outlook, easier interface. iTunes is the best program I have used for .mp3’s and music, incredibly intuitive/easy when it comes to managing my iPod. Macs are intuitive, easy to learn, and just work. I just can’t say enough good things about Mac. They are so easy to use. My suggestion to anyone who is considering buying a laptop is to look at a Mac. If you have one in the area, go to an Apple Store (apple.com to locate) and get some hands on. You may be surprised at how intuitive and easy Macs are to learn. You can also get discounts if you are a student and the online store has nice pricing on refurbs. The refurbs are machines that did not pass testing off the manufacturing line. As with all computers, you can find decent deals on eBay.
  13. When the whole Toronto thing came about, it caused a lot of panic amongst us fans. Now that we've seen two regular season games tank, I don't think Bills to Toronto is a problem, or the Rams for that matter. I know we haven't been very good but believe fans of the NFL would go no matter what, and they didn't. The Bills in Toronto series probably won't be extended, especially at the current cost to Rogers Communications, and anything less for the Bills and they'll call it off anyway. Hopefully we can still draw the fans who come to town.
  14. I don't doubt that. Thing is the NFL has enjoyed a TV money bonanza. It's my opinion the networks are not going to keep letting the NFL raise the price of the TV packages as much as they do. If memory serves each team gets 50 to 60 million from the TV deals, with the CBA tying the salary cap directly to revenue. Now what happens if the TV guys balk at a huge raise? Less revenue = less player dollars. With the new CBA around the corner, the NFL could be in for a huge headache similar to the NHL.
  15. I think the Bills series in TO has shown they don't care for a franchise, especially at the prices they would charge. Plus the whole 3/4 ownership thing would hopefully get in the way. A funny thing about this whole LA thing anyway, is LA does not want a team! They had TWO franchises pick up an leave...TWO. That's gotta say something. Anyway, if the reason they want to move teams their is to add to TV revenue, ya gotta wonder what impact that will have on it. I suspect the NFL is coming to a day of reckoning, like the NHL did, were salaries are much too high and TV won't be paying as much.
  16. Unless it's something with the turf, why not leave them?
  17. Just getting used to them being gone, until I see some old footage. Can't understand why the got rid of them in the first place.
  18. I didn't know Rich was that, uhm, rich. That's good news as I believe he is a Buffalo backer, and even wanted a pro franchise years ago with MLB. As for the Bills staying. My belief is Ralph isn't going to tilt the sale towards Buffalo interests, but hopefully he won't go out of his way to exclude them. I'm becoming jaded by the events of the last few months as to does Ralph really care about the team. I don't really know, but his actions suggest he is trying to squeeze every penny out of this team prior to his selling (trying not to be PI). I don't really want to pin my hopes on statements made by Jim Kelly, but I can't believe someone like him would say the things he does about an ownership group like he does, unless he had options. He understands the importance of the team to many WNY'ers, so I hope he has a group in place, not just a pipe dream of his.
  19. Get well, our prayers are with you. Mrs. Beerball, it is very important that you take care of yourself at this time also, to stay strong for him. God Bless.
  20. If the question assumes their ability is the same, then Tebow as he would be a longer term answer. As they sit now? Tebow. I know it's the popular thing to jump on the anti- Tebow bandwagon. I know, it's easy. The odds are stacked against him as more QB's fail coming out of college, than succeed. But what if he is good? He has the potential to be a stud QB for years if he can translate his college game to the NFL. I say, why not? Just don't spend the #9 on him. Get back into the 1st round, early 2nd with what you would spend on Vick and take the chance he is still there.
  21. I was going to say coaches are only as good as their players, but that would be wrong. Good coaches can elevate a team to greatness. Poor coaches, well you see how we've played the last few years...especially on offense.
  22. My son. Don't even need to think about it. Anyway, it wouldn't matter. By the time he is old enough to play in the NFL, the Bills will have moved away....
  23. Yep, Polian is absolutely an hall of fame GM. Took us to 4 straight, Panthers to the NFC champ game 2nd year, and look at what he is doing with Indy. As for extracting every last cent out of the organization? He in no way is setting this team up for staying in Buffalo after his demise. He is set on wringing every last cent out of the organization so his family gets all they can from it.
  24. The article really wraps up what we knew into a nice little package. Ralph is stuck in his ways, kinda think he believes it's the 1960's. Find it interesting that, according to the article, Ralph picked Lynch. I wonder if it was consensus in the draft room, or was he the only one who wanted him. If it was all Ralphies idea, he has to have someone feeding him this info who is not the GM or scouts. I wonder if the decision was made solely on ticket sales since we did not have a name back any longer. It really makes me wonder how many of these moves he has done before. My guess the guy behind Ralphie is Littman. This has been widely known/speculated on these boards for a long time. According to this article, it was Littman who drove Polian out. (near the bottom) http://cms.ibj.com/ASPXPages/6iframes/Fron...3&NoFrame=1 It's just painfully obvious that as long as Ralph is around, this team will not get any better. He surrounds himself with guys who will do his bidding for him like Brandon and Littman. And those guys surround themselves with guys who will do what they want, like Nix. Even though Nix is considered an excellent talent evaluator, who knows how he will do as GM, but does it really matter if he is just a mouthpiece for Brandon and Ralphie anyway? Seems like he may be just a puppet GM. I used to believe that Ralph really had an affinity for Buffalo, and that is why he wanted to keep the team here. Not anymore. I believe he is getting whatever he can from this area until he dies, and could care less what happens to the team then. All of his moves are about the bottom line, making sure his family can wring every last cent from the team before they sell it. Unless JK really does have an ownership group in place, it will be a very sad day in Buffalo when we lose this team. Which begs the question: Would Ralph sell the team to local interests? Probably not as he wouldn't want to sully his pro-Buffalo image by selling the team to someone who would do a better job then he did.
