Funny, every now and then, I catch myself using a phrase that I know the "meaning of", but not the origin. I believe laughing stock dates back to when people used to be put in "stocks" as a punishment, and then they were publicly ridiculed. The phrase dates back to Shakespeare days, I believe.

To me it was a game when EJ Manuel had several turn-overs, including one that he through right to a JJ Watt, around the Texans 20 yard line, for an 80 yard pick six. I just remember hanging my head and thinking we looked like laughing stocks.

I did my beer ritual. I usually only do it for one o'clock games and/or games I am not attending live. I wait until the Bills do something really good before I have my first beer, and then once I start, I make sure my beer in never near empty until the game ends. I wait for a TD, or a turnover by the Defense, not just a good drive or Defensive stop. Yesterday, I had to wait awhile for my first beer, but I definitely made up for lost time once we got going. I usually grab my refill when the current beer is at the halfway point, just to be safe. 🍺🍺🍺 You're welcome.

Part of it is that we are getting everyone else's A game, like you illustrated with Brissett's performance. That's what happens when you are the perceived "team to beat". For better teams, or teams built the right way, that A game is difficult to beat. (i.e. Vikings) For others, we are good enough to beat them 9 out of 10 times, but that A game still narrows the margin for error.

This is the first time I have watched that show. It was fun. Josh seems pretty relaxed around Kyle Brandt, so it is a relaxed conversation, lots of softballs. This is Josh's version of Aaron Rodgers on the McAfee show.
