I appreciate this positive report but this is the problem with blindly trusting PFF grades. It’s one thing to do this against the Broncos. It’s another to do this against the Fins (which White did).

Good post. Everyone loves labeling players bust first. I haven’t seen much from Elam to be overly optimistic. But he is trying to play corner (the physically hardest position in football) on a team playing for a SB. So there is zero margin for error and any mistake he makes, let’s to him not playing. what does a 6th or 7th really do for this team? All accounts are he’s a real good dude so as you said, let’s hope he “gets it.”

Agreed. He may be completely washed. Of course this team traded Teller so maybe we aren’t the best at getting the most out of our linemen.

Dude has been a giant bust but for a SB contender, this is a no brainer move. He’s going to be extra motivated and play through injury so he can sign a big deal in a few months.

Yeah don’t get me wrong, it’s a solid pickup. But Tre was starting to look like Tre and was takes on Hill/ Adams. That’s not Douglas’ role.

I think it’s solid pickup but people know pff is based on nothing really. They assume coverages/ defenses. They don’t fact in game situations (like the Pack losing a lot this year) and don’t adjust for receivers you’re covering (Alexander is their number 1 cb). It’s a nice tool I guess but can be all types of misleading. that said, if there is one area where I will blindly trust McDermott is defensive back. I wonder what the price for Johnson was?

Eh, this is very subjective and very little people in the nfl would agree with this. White is working his way back from a major injury and plays against number 1 receivers. Douglas is their number 2 cb, solid if unspectacular pickup. But I’d million times rather have Tre than Douglas.

I just remember him in college and thinking he was in his mid 40s. By all accounts, he’s a really good teammate. but I hope this isn’t going into Cook’s usage. I think he’s been pretty good this year, minus pass pro.

Tackling is against the rules now. But teams can’t practice the way they used to (Oklahoma drills 3 days a week was so cool! 😞). Plus we have a smallish defense. but it’s an epidemic around the nfl.

Daboll has been the exact opposite of coach of the year this year. still can’t believe they paid Jones after his “good” year of 15 tds. Daboll seems super cranky this year. I also can’t believe the crappy Jets are somehow winning with crappy Zack Wilson.

I believe Vegas has adjusted the 3 points at home to like 1.5 for most teams (believe the Bills and Chiefs get 3 still because we have legit home field advantage). I mean it should be a really close line. But as others have said, the bengals will get bet heavy and the line will be higher before game time.

The stuff some of you cry about. Guess what Joe Burrow is good, so there will be positive comments about him! Guess what Mahomes is one of the greatest qbs ever. He did completely wiped out on pass pro that really stood out to me. but cook as a runner and receiver has been good. It’s a downgrade when another rb gets touches.

But even as great as Milano is, and he’s great and one of the best playmakers in football, OLB on paper should be one of the most easily replaceable positions on defense.

I was in a blackout homer phase and after this game, I thought Edwards was going to be Joe Montana. it’s crazy how much happier we were then than now haha. Expectations are a wild thing
