In fairness, we shouldn’t say Fromm yet but I have serious doubts. Again, some fans overrate players when they become Bills. We literally saw the only good start of Barkley’s career. He has thrown double the amount of ints to tds. That’s a problem.

Minority of Bills fans? Sure. I definitely get this point. And it Ames sense. But this is were I’m a lot more realistic that most Bills fans. The gap, if there was one, between Dalton and last years Allen is very small. Obviously, the “ceiling” is higher on Allen but I believe the Bills make the playoffs with Dalton.

I mean you don’t want either to play but Hoyer is the better player and has played in a lot more games.

This something I notice with some fans (probably most fans). I rarely heard Addison name brought up here (I think Bandit might have). Now he’s elite? Same thing with Diggs. Very good player but he has become Jerry Rice since he joined the Bills. I would love to see the reactions if Darnold was Bill and Allen was a Jet.

Andre Reed. I played receiver and he was so smooth and he was a beast after the catch. He was my hero as kid. Then as I got older, he loved sliding into girls I know DMs. Shooters shoot.

And sadly, Hoyer is an upgrade over Barkley.

If AJ Is healthy, they have a really good receiving group. It’s probably top to bottom one of the best Groups in the nfl. Their oline sucks though.

I would argue the 29th ranked defense was more of the problem. In a season without AJ Green, they lost games by 1, 3, 4, 3, 6, 7, & 6. They were about as “good” as a 2-14 team could be. You don’t think Winston, who threw for 5,000 yards and just got eye surgery, couldn’t look better in the preseason than Allen? Good Winston is as good as anyone. Problem is bad Winston is as bad as anyone. I definitely think Dalton could look more consistently steady than Allen in a camp. But in a perfect, I would love to see it. If Allen is the guy, he should beat them out. You prove nothing but playing better than Barkley or Fromm. as for Flacco, I’m guessing he likes money. Plus, I’m sure his ego says he could be better than Allen or do well if Allen gets hurt. I think our backup qb situation is a very desirable job. I just hate the idea of one of the worst NFL QBs as a backup because he supports Allen. You’re probably right that the Bills think this way but man, if Allen gets hurt, we will regret that decision big time.

Winston, Cam, and/ or Dalton. It’s not even a knock on Dalton because those guys have all had big moments in the nfl. But in an open competition at training camp, do I think they could look better than Allen? Absolutely. that’s why I think Flacco would be the best option. He’s better than Barkley (nice guy!) and has real playoff experience so I don’t think the season is over if he has to play. But he’s not good enough to really threaten Allen at this point. Allen is way more handsome than Dalton (gets a lot closer if Dalton dyes his hair). Normal Cam is pretty close but Allen wins over weirdo Cam.

The Bills aren’t bringing in anyone that could look better than Allen. I both hate it and also understand it. I don’t think anyone is scared of Dalton. But we barely beat him on a 2-14 team with one of the worst defenses on the nfl. Him going to one of the best defenses in the nfl is an upgrade. It’s still not Brady but if they sign him, they are a better team.

It’s not that simple. Team doctors need to evaluate him themselves. You can’t right now. but yeah, healthy Cam and Dalton are better than a bunch of guys starting this year. I never got the hate Dalton got. Not a top guy but was constantly a playoff guy and was playing like a MVP when the Bengals might have been the best team in the NFL and got hurt. I think they should have kept him because I think Finley sucks. Dalton always was discriminated because he was a ginger. ?

Oh please. There are plenty of stories of Kelly being an awful human being in Buffalo. There are plenty of stories about bad things he has done in his marriage. And on record, he single handed my started the bicker in’ Bills. He grew up and he is the best qb in franchise history but you have to be the biggest cheerleader in the world to ignore the bad Kelly stuff. Same with Bruce and Thurman. It’s laughable the things Cam gets killed for compared to what NFL players used to do. Bickerin’ Bills??? i do agree that I will never question his toughness on the field. He stood in the pocket like few others. But I think minus one play, Newton has been a warrior as well.

I’m not following Simon. If social media existed when Kelly played, I think there would be a lot of questions about his character and leadership. Some of the things Cam gets criticized for are completely minor compared to the allegations against Kelly or Big Ben. I agree with this. And I do get why they Bills won’t do it. i just want to go all in and going with Barkley/ Fromm isn’t going all in. Plus, if Allen couldn’t outplay Cam coming off major injuries, he probably isn’t the long term guy. I wanna see Allen have to elevate his play.

What about Jim Kelly getting hammered before a SB? Is that having your brothers back? was that play the best look? Probably not. But dude has laid his body on the line. He fights for every year which has physically damaged him. I don’t think one play should define a guy who has been a warrior. You mean like Diggs who was having temper tantrums during wins because he wasn’t getting the ball enough? where are the reports of his teammates that hate playing with Cam? The only one I can think of is fat Kelvin who is a joke.

Newton’s 265 yards passing in the SB! Against a great defense with Ted Ginn as his number 1 receiver would have been the second highest total of Allen’s career. Allen’s career high was one yard more. Because he’s hurt and has a chance to show he can be a good teammate. Plus if Allen gets hurt or struggles, he can step into a playoff team with the best receivers he has ever played with. it makes way too much sense to happen though. Matt will bake everyone cupcakes.

You really think it’s that simple??? 1 - team doctors can’t check out Cam 2 - Cam is going to wait out the market. He still wants to start (and with some of the scrubs who do, if healthy, he should) 3 - do you think they want to risk bringing in a qb who could be better than the one they invested a 1st round pick a couple years ago? I get why they don’t bring him in. I’m just saying if you are really totally going full in for a SB, you upgrade every position you can. Barkley is terrible and Cam is a massive upgrade. Barkley is a really nice guy though and everyone likes him. And that’s what is really important in pro sports! We should have given that nice guy Peterman another shot too!

Is this based on Newton carrying that offense to the SB which upped McDermott’s profile? How in the world do people make such claims without any facts? Matt Barkley sucks. Nice guy though. Cam on his worst day is better is better than Barkley on his best. Problem is a healthy Cam is probably still better than Allen and we couldn’t possibly challenge a qb on this roster. Let’s feed him Peterman. Barkley, Anderson, and Fromm!

Me too. I love having a playoff team with a backup qb who has thrown 10 tds to 21 ints and has a 65.7 QB rating and 1 career win. Like, for real. I could not be more pleased.

So if he gets a concussion on that play is that the smart play? Sammy Watkins rushed back from a foot injury to prove him toughness and still struggles with it. Have you ever seen Newton play? Part of the reason he’s not on a team is because he would fight for every year. Watch Tom Brady on interceptions. Dude literally runs the opposite way. questioning Cam’s toughness is pretty silly. I believe the he is far and way the most hit qb since he entered the nfl.

The worst part is this is finally the year I actually believed we could beat him (I just pretty much assume 2 NE losses every year, makes it easier). ? isn’t the stat he has more wins in Buffalo than any Bills qb since he started playing?

I agree with most of this except Barkley being a capable backup. We are understanding how bad he has been when he plays. If Barkley has to play, the season is over and that should not be the case. Former starting nfl cb and NFLPA president.
