Which QB do you want the phish to draft?
C.Biscuit97 replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like threads like this turn out bad ? -
Because they would be benched long before that. But if you look at Fitz’s career, he’s gotten better at taking care of the ball. His int % last year was lower than Allen’s and Darnold’s in a much, much worse situation.
-
I totally get what you’re saying but the owner (and I’m normally pro player) is 100 percent right. It’s not the team’s duty to do what YN wants. They should do what’s best for them. And this guy is just tanking his value. Man this extends far beyond football haha.
-
I completely disagree but that’s my opinion. It’s not a coincidence that Fitz does better than every qb he is supposed to backup. He is a above average qb who lacks physical gifts. There isn’t a doubt in my mind he is a better passer than Allen right now. I think he would have been a disaster in Miami. As would most young QBs would have been. It’s an awful situation. but obviously long term, you take the younger guys. But it’s not crazy to think one or both might not ending up throwing 210 tds like Fitz.

I was such a delusional homer then. Though I still stand by a few things: whitner was a solid player who was overdrafted. I wanted Bulaga but thought Spiller could be a weapon if used right. And McKelvin was a great cover cb who had no ball skills. I wonder if Bears fans were puffing out their chests after much Mitch’s second season. Good timing in this!!! That loser just led the Chiefs in postseason receiver and won a SB!!! What a loser.
-
Haha, the Matt Barkley connection. Is that a real thing? Like is he good at tackling people after he throws an INT? and he is a solid player when healthy but this isn’t the type of receiver we need. We need size.
-
Again, if he was on the Bills, he would have been in the playoffs. That’s kinda the point. None of these QBs in the afc East are guys who out the team on their back. Allen played with the 3rd best defense. Fitz did as good as any non qb in the division with one of the worst rosters to start a season in a long time. Football is the ultimate team game. Allen and Darnold would have looked worse than Fitz in Miami last year.
-
If Fitz played with the defenses we had the last years, he would have made the playoffs. His int % last year was lower than Allen’s on a team that was openly tanking. I agree you are limited as a franchise with him as your starter and you definitely take the younger guys. But based on last year and how they elevated their situations, I think Fitz did more for his team than any of the other qbs in the division.
-
In terms of what they played with, isn’t it Fitz? Would Darnold or Allen done better with the Fins last year? I highly doubt it. Fitz is a top 20 qb in the nfl. He’s actually gotten better every year. You have a ceiling with him but I think as of right now, he’s the best qb in the AFC East. More is on Darnold to carry his team though. Worse defense, worse oline, and he has to throw more. allen was a game manager last year. If he was given more reign, he would throw more ints. If Fitz has Allen’s arm, he would be all time great qb.

I mean, what else is going on with sports? and they should just go with their Throwbacks permanently. Those are great unis.

I mean it’s a little different than the NFC South, right?

Totally respect your opinion. And with all these guys, the situation matters so much. -

With all due respect, I couldn’t disagree more. Fromm was a game manager in college surrounded by nfl talent with very average at best physical talent. He will be lucky if he sticks as backup for a long time. He was the worst of the 3 Georgia qbs. As for Love, he was an absolute stud as a sophomore. They lost like 9 starters and their OC. Obviously it’s a big jump but if he goes to a situation where can develop properly, I think he could be a stud. -
Any chance Tua lands in New England?

Um, they went 12-4 and beat us twice this year and have completely curb stomped us for like 20 years. I blows my mind how easily some people are dismissing the Pats. lets try actually beating in a game they actually care about before we dismiss them. Our current coach is 0-6 against them. They definitely suck at drafting receiver. I mean I agree in our real lives. But in the nfl world, we are a joke to them until we actual beat them. They probably don’t even think they need a qb to win the division again. -

But that’s why guys like Allen are both awesome and frustrating at the same time. Potential. Again, Allen has never been a really dominant player on any level of football. He has moments and all the physical tools. But this league is filled with guys with physical tools who never amount to anything. Take Fitz. How many guys have better physical tools? Like 99%? Yet Fitz has had a better career than like 90% of them. I would take Allen over Minshew but would I be shocked if Minshew became the better overall qb? Not all. I think it’s really extremely rare for a qb to just suddenly became a better player at the nfl than he has been at any level. I completely disagree and I’m happy that Mahomes won it. Mahomes is steroids to a rb. Everything Williams achieved is because of Mahomes. So I’m going with the guy who opened things up for his rb, had over 300 totals yards, and 3 tds. But agree to disagree. -

Mahomes helped put up 31 points and threw for 286 (More than any game for Allen in his career) and 2 tds against the best defense in the nfl. In the SB after trailing all game. And some people consider that playing “like crap” for him. So some of you might need to forgive some posters for not going crazy for 131 passing yards, 17 points, and a 65 qb rating against the Steelers and Duck’s 4 ints. and the Williams is MVP crowd is funny. The only reason Williams is successful is because the 49ers go all out stopping a generational qb. Again, who had 286 yards and 3 tds “playing like crap.” Mahomes is the MVP. -

Good post. I like it. I would like to see a breakdown of it compared to other qbs for context though. -

If we were the Pats, our board would look exactly like a Pats board where we defended everything our team did and say it was fake news! And everyone is just jealous of us. Sad but true! But did you see how clean JP Losman made Buffalo that one time! and who is the last crappy, not hard working qb the Bills has? Billy Joe? RJ? That coward Kyle Orton? Most of our guys are good dudes who work hard. -

I hope one day, people can nit pick 3 of our SBs and say why we got “lucky .” breaking news. People tend to give super successful people a lot of credit! -

Wait a second. Some media members are biased towards a team that has been to 9 SBs in 20 years? What a bunch of idiots.
