I wonder how this is going to go on this board. ? it’s a very diverse group here. and yes forcing people to get hired is a problem. But the lack of diversity at the top levels in the nfl is a serious issue. And I don’t think it’s racist but rather the buddy buddy system in NFL front offices. Crappy coaches and executives get passed around because of who they are friends with. While being a player is a meritocracy, nfl jobs are the opposite of that.

I’ve said it all along that the Bills could go 9-7 this year and be a much better team than last year. Not all schedules are the same.

Where did this narrative come from that media hates the Bills? I think we are easily one if the most liked teams in the nfl. Plenty of big media members love the Bills. We just have sucked forever. if the Bills win the AFC East, I also feel Allen will get overrated and too much credit (as all qbs do). He could have less production than other QBs but be completely hyped up and win the MVP.

I’m trying hard to not get into these Allen threads so much. I really do like his attitude and a lot of his physical skills. But I guess what bothers me: 1 - I think the excuse making for him just drives me crazy. Some of you act like nothing is ever his fault. Then it becomes a debate about the word accuracy. I would say that a guy who have been Never completed 60% (which is the definition of average now) on any level is probably not the most accurate qb. if any other qb had Allen’s resume, we would all clearly thing he is the weak link to the team. 2 - Allen is the only young qb that will improve. Jackson, Darnold, etc Clearly regress. But there are serious double standards in how fans here evaluate Jackson in comparison to Allen. I understand we are Bills fans but it would be nice to be consistent in your opinions. 3 - Allen is in a great situation that a lot of qbs would thrive in. Especially with the defense we have. Allen has to led the offense to 20 points/ game to win the majority of games. That’s a very low benchmark and most starting level nfl qbs should be able to do that. With our defense, you shouldn’t need “game winning” drives against Duck or a benched Mariota. With better offense play, those games could have been over before the 4th quarter. great thing is hopefully all the excuses are done. Excellent defense, top receiving core, solid o line. With a non garbage schedule and teams that actually have good QBs, we will know if Allen is the real deal one way or another. But no matter how twist things, that kinda of qb is not good franchise qb play. Hopefully, he continues to progress. This team has SB caliber talent and if you’re being honest, qb (and backup) is at the top of the list for biggest weakness right now.

Funny thing is a healthy Sammy would have been a perfect fit for Allen.

If we had Sammy, we beat the Jags. The one good thing Tyrod did in the passing game was throw to Sammy. But we had Jordan Matthews and fat Kelvin.

This td per game stat is cool but you don’t think it’s a little overplayed. A qb who runs a lot is going to do great in that stat. For instance, Aaron Rodgers has 26 passing tds and 1 rushing one. Aaron Jones had 16 running tds. He had 19 rushes inside the 10 and converted 11 of them into tds. Frank Gore had 18 rushes inside the 10 and converted 2. I believe you’re in NO and Brees loses tds to Murray, Kamara, and Hill.

Warren Moon went to CFL to get his start. McNabb got trashed by pill popping Rush on ESPN. Arizona hires Wilks and have him one year with a rookie qb. The Lions fired Jim Caldwell, arguably one of their best coaches ever, and are on their 3rd season with Patricia and his 9-22 record. Love Smith got fired after going 10-6 in Chicago. Finally black QBs are getting the respect and chances because they are some of the best QBs in the nfl. But I believe if given the chance, this chance this would have happened long before 2020. And I think I like about Allen is he crossed into the racial stereotype of a black QB. In a weird way, I think that is progress.

You can if you have the right connections. The guy who was running Busch killed a chick. Andy Reid’s crackhead is a nfl coach. Todd Haley was a college golfer. in every other sport, you can do pro right out of high school? Why not in football and basketball? Maybe to milk that free labor for billions? You realize a lot of this board was trashing Jackson because of his playoff game when the Ravens were moving the ball up and down the field all game and then had freaky things happen, right? People dismiss his 500 yards because they didn’t score? So which is it? Also, if we were winning a game 16-0 and Edmunds was the best player in the field and we found out Allen had mono, what would this board being saying if the Jets won? and I don’t even know what we’re arguing about. I said the Jets probably won’t have made the playoffs. But then again, they beat the Cowboys and no one had them winning that game. I’m going out on a limb here but losing your qb for 3 games and your star MLB for 14 games isn’t good. and you were right on Hoyer. I’d still take my chances with Stidham over those Jets scrubs.
