  1. I would bet you a lot of money Tua will have a better nfl career than Stidham (assuming he can stay healthy). Of course no one knows for sure but it’s not really a stretch to think that. and it’s funny when Chris Simms or Jordan Palmer gives positive stuff about Allen, no posters try to put down their careers, ?
  2. Never said he was Sanchez (though Mark averaged more years passing that year for perspective). I definitely think he is better than Sanchez. It just shows that the stat doesn’t mean you’re Joe Montana in a SB every game. and again, he’s done good things but certain stats are misleading. Like Combined tds for QBs. Rushing tds is a very random number and goes down the longer a player plays. Also, guys like Rodgers and Brees lose tds because they have short yardage backs and Hill. Our offense scored 19 points a game. And what would Mitch’s numbers be if his wrs caught their 25 drops!!! Again, saying you prefer Tua over Allen isn’t really some hot take. I think the vast majority of football people would take Tua if they knew he was healthy over most young QBs not named Mahomes. He was a beast at Bama. You really think Darnold is more talented than Tua? I disagree with that one. The 3rd ranked qb in the NFC South might be Matt Ryan. Look at the bright side. ?
  3. If healthy, and that’s the problem with Tua obviously, in the same draft, Tua goes first over any afc East QB. You really think he wrote this for clicks? Won’t it make more sense then to have Darnold ranked last to fire up the NYC market? this is a crazy thought but maybe this is his honest opinion.
  4. Mark Sanchez had 5 game winning drives in 2010. This stat is so misleading without context. That 14-7 Titans comeback was an awful offensive football game and their kicker missed 3 fgs I believe. Mahomes lost a game where he led them to 51 points! That goes down as a loss. It’s dumb without context. for instance, Allen could have zero game winning drives this year and be a much, much, much better qb.
  5. I respect your opinion. I do know that when I was trying to hope for the best for things with Bills qbs, I would cling to certain things and ignore others. Allen does great things at times but it’s so inconsistent. Everyone loves the game winning drives but if we had better offense, those games could have been over well before the 4th quarter. ive always stated my biggest problem with the Allen pick is it’s all projection and the guy really has had very few dominant all game performances. But I hope I’m wrong and the best thing is this team is so good, it might not even matter if Allen is that good. But it could be a SB contender with good QB play.
  6. I definitely see your point but honestly, Allen’s and Trubisky’s passing stats weren’t that much different (Allen destroys him rushing). I think the Bears are going to give him every chance to win the job and while I never liked the pick, he’s not good but he’s not as bad as he is made out to be. Definitely would rather Allen but I don’t think the slight is as crazy as you do. JMO obviously.
  7. If another team had a smaller guy who got hurt and has never been the guy and had 700 yards and a rookie ranked high, we would think it was terrible. that said, DS looks legit (need to manage his touches though because he won’t last) and I loved Moss in college. So I feel good about the future but they haven’t really proven anything yet.
  8. I think DO (who I like a lot) has been great at giving Allen credit and critiquing his faults. And I get why the MT thing bother people but Allen had essentially the same second year as him. And guess who was high on that favorite drop ball stat list? Mitchell. One less than the Bills. Imagine his numbers if all his wrs caught his passes!!! But to be fair, given what we have watched at QB for 20 years, we have a warped view on Qb play. 200 yards passing is not celebrated by other fan bases like it is here. We seen bottom 5 qb play for 20 years.
  9. Which he puts in his bio and owns. but typical attack the messenger post. If former guys who started nfl games can’t criticize qbs, how can any of us? Pretty simple way to think. Yeah, what an insane statement (though McDermott might think different!)
  10. Trust me I used to do it all the time. We both completely overrate guys we like and underrate guys we don’t (Gilmore). If Allen was on another team, we would view him as the weakness of a really good time a la Trubisky or Bortles. but again, Allen has all the power to change this.
  11. If I knew all of them were healthy, I would definitely rather have Tua over any qb in the afc East. and the defense took us to the playoffs. Our offense scored 19 points a game. Allen did some good things but it was a great situation where he didn’t have to do much to win games. It was an insanely easy schedule with a top 3 defense. A lot of QBs would have taken us to the playoffs. but it’s amazing how sensitive some of you are. You immediately attack the source (yeah what does a 10 year plus nfl backup qb know about the position?) and try to discredit them. Allen has upside and has done some good things. But he averages 184 passing yards/ game. In no way is that special or deserving of anointing. the best thing about all this is Allen has all the power to prove doubters wrong. Much tougher schedule and he has playmakers all around. The excuses are done and hopefully he really becomes a franchise guy. I do think as of right now, I think Fitz is the best qb. Now Long term, Id go with Tua first and Stidham last.
  12. This is why I think I’m going to stop going to games. I don’t remember a single play from this game. Tailgate was absolutely amazing and I definitely won that.
  13. You take anything that guy says serious? Dude is basically a clown and getting paid a ton for it. It blows my mind how people even pay attention to him. And does that mean we like ESPN now?
  14. We’re still doing win loss records for qbs? Dear lord. there is no human being besides Barkley’s family and Bills fans who are completely biased who think he is better than Flacco. Our qb has a career 65 qb rating. That’s beyond awful. but for some reason in a billion dollar business, being a nice guy is more important than actual talent. This team will regret settling at the qb position if Allen gets hurt.
  15. To nit pick Watkins (if he could stay healthy) could have been a monster but played with some of the worst qbs in the league dareus was an all pro and one of the best young DTs before his contract they traded down for EJ and got Kiko, who ended up being McCoy leodis was a solid number 2 cb. Not a star but you could do worse. that said if our qb was Brady instead of Tyrod, Orton the coward, EJ, and whoever, all those players look better. People make this harder than it needs to be. on our current situation, they built a strong team that doesn’t need great qb play right now. Now with a tougher schedule, this team will be determined by how good Allen becomes. But if he can’t be a franchise guy on this team, I highly doubt he ever becomes one. But if Allen becomes legit, this team is a SB contender. If not, it’s like the 2002 and 2015 teams, which imo were both superior to last years team.
  16. I think this is especially true for teams with great qbs. IMO, the major difference between the Bills and Pats of the last 10 years is Qb. Our drafts have been pretty on par with these. They just have the GOAT and we have had arguably bottom 10 QBs.
  17. For sure the D came up big (that’s what she said ?). But that was some of the worst play calling I’ve ever seen in my life. If I was running the Browns, I would have fired Kitchens after the game. They would bring on heavy personnel at like the 5 and take OBJ and Landry off the field. So stupid.
  18. I do think it is an interesting question. If you weighed where they played (you deserve more credit for better stats in the SEC than the MWC), in the last 10 years (maybe even longer), has there been a 1st round qb with a less impressive college resume than Allen? Gabbert was up there and he sucks. But I struggle to think of many more.
  19. With all due respect, how does this make any sense? The guy produced two top 10 qb picks in 5 years at Wyoming and North Dakota State!!! That is the ultimate sign of great coaching. Maybe Allen’s college coaching isn’t this pee wee football coaching you thought. While great college stats predict nothing in the nfl, it is extremely rare to find guys who didn’t dominant becoming greatplayers in the NFL. Allen was rarely dominant in the MWC. He has struggled to maintain a dominant game in the pros so far. That’s what worries me long term. I think he will be a guy we will always debate because he will always lack consistency. He has never done it on any level, even a lower tier D 1 conference and now he is going to do it in the NFL? That seems like a huge bet to make. luckily, they have built a really strong team around him and he doesn’t really have to win games now.
  20. Again, his college coach was Carson Wentz’s. How many coaches have produced two top 10 picks qbs in history, much less than 5 years apart? And that’s some of us aren’t as sold on Allen. It’s the nfl and it’s never been easier to play qb. We are trying to make a guy be better in the nfl than he was at Wyoming. It’s insanely risky and it’s not like we have brilliant offensive minds coaching him here.
  21. I think it does. I think if Allen comes even close to what Dak is doing (he’s not close as a passer at all), some of the same people putting down Dak would be begging the Bills to pay Allen. There are just double standards some fans have. i think besides the top guys, most qbs on their second contract are insanely overpaid and it kills teams long term. But given what qbs have gotten recently, Dak certainly deserves his payday.
  22. It’s weird that some of the biggest pro Allen people are against Dak. Do people think Allen is better than Dak?
  23. Do you Josh Allen winning a SB?
  24. Completely reasonable what you’re saying. Especially now. But most people in his position would do that same thing. Can’t really compare pro sports to regular jobs.
  25. Ah, a textbook Weo argument. Don’t include turnovers, qb rating, rushing, current ages to make it look closer than it is. Because if you did that, dalton - 85 QBs rating, 66 ints, 11 rushing tds, current age 32. dak - 97 qb rating, 36 ints, 21 rushing tds, current age 26. i respect your sneakiness Weo. Almost sold it. also, I present Peyton Manning’s 1st 4 years: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MannPe00.htm ? and please don’t twist this like Dak is going to be better than Manning but the guy has been good and some of you are working real hard to discredit him. Like you do with almost every young qb (should I pull out the Mahomes training camp int thread?). If Allen comes close to Dak, we will be begging the Bulls to pay him. We went 7-9 with Trent and JP. We went 9/7 with Ej and Orton.
