  1. Agreed, in our devision and they did just win a Super Bowl...
  2. I kind of like all these 1 and done contracts for younger players with starting experience. Doesn't lock us down, counts towards comp pick calculation and if we find a gem we have a ton of cap space to re-sign.
  3. Production is scary but not always an indicator of success. Zay was ridiculously productive in college against inferior opponents, but he drops more passes than I'd like. Metcalf has elite physical traits that make him stand out in this class of pretty decent receivers. That said, I think the lack of production adds an added measure of uncertainty to drafting DK, which is why I'd prefer taking one of the DL prospects.
  4. DL/EDGE - 8 OT - 2 IOL - 2 WR - 3 TE - 3 DB - 5 (3CB/2S) RB- 1 LB - 1 This list points to us going DL with pick 1, but that doesn't necessarily mean much. Lines up with what I want us to do though. FYI - Darrell Henderson is visiting today per Cover1 on twitter
  5. He's a rotational edge player with good speed who was a 3rd rd draft pick by the 9ers in 2015. https://www.prideofdetroit.com/2019/2/19/18203968/2018-detroit-lions-roster-review-did-eli-harold-add-enough-to-keep-him-around We could maybe be looking at him to play SAM as a backup too?
  6. I think we went so heavy on the OL this offseason to give Josh a chance to succeed with some decent blocking knowing that we are going to be going after TE/DT/EDGE early. I see us taking OL, but not until maybe rd 3-4.
  7. Would you rather have Hock/Tillery or Oliver/Smith Jr.?
  8. Ok tell Hollywood Brown to catch jump balls in the end zone then. Height still matters.
  9. He's not a hard enough worker and takes plays off. You're not going to get him to block with any sort of effort.
  10. Draft strategy this draft should be to accumulate as many picks in the first 3 rds as possible, not because we should always do this, but because I see a lot of parity between the guys who will be going in the late 1st and the guys going in the 3rd talent-wise.
  11. I'll take whoever you need me to take Virgil
  12. That's what we've been doing wrong guys, we didn't try to draft Pro Bowlers, likely because it is too expensive to pay them later. Wish I'd thought of this!
  13. Who are your blue chip prospects?
  14. pick #6 would not cost a 2nd, it would cost a 3rd and a 5th
  15. Ferguson will be gone by rd 3.
  16. This is a message board. If you create a topic, that is now a topic of conversation that the entire board is free to comment on, deride, or ignore. At no point in time does creating a topic make the thread "yours." I submit that if your goal was to promote a conversation, insulting the people who post in this topic is not the best way to do that. Otherwise, to use your advanced stats- there is a 100% chance this is really just a LAMP post about how you think you're smart.
  17. So starting a thread means the thread is "yours" now? This is the smallest amount of power I've ever seen go to someone's head.
  18. I remember a play in the comeback game where Beebe caught a TD, but had been pushed out of bounds on the play and it wasn't called.
  19. This thread is off the rails. You get defensive about anything people post and talk down like you're gracing everyone with your knowledge. The most substantive thing that could happen to this thread would be to close it. Though I'm sure I'll just get a response from you with some biting wit about how you're an expert, so my lack of interest in the matter means I am a moron, not that you're being abrasive to anyone who actually tries to post here.
  20. I don't think players should be traded. It opens up too many weird scenarios.
  21. Sure could be.
  22. We need a better jump ball/redzone threat WR.
  23. Beane isn't playing with the OL - we're signing upside players with a decent floor and still appear to be interviewing every decent OL prospect in the draft. I dunno how many linemen we're carrying into the season, but I'm thinking it's going to wind up being more than we all presume.
  24. Draft is WAY too late. In an effort to drag the football calendar out the draft is spaced way too late. I get pumped about the draft and watching film every year and every year around this time I just stop caring about football for about a week or two before the draft. I actually miss the AAF. Also, I don't get why people complain about IceBowl, he's a decent dude.
