  1. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/01/05/richard-sherman-denounces-click-based-media/ Methinks the lady doth protests too much. Interesting that even the national news guys are hyper-sensitive to this criticism, because the criticism is completely on point.
  2. I see stuff like this playing out in Buffalo, then I read articles like this one on Carr and just wish we had a time machine and could go back to a time when this team made me proud and felt like a family. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2685215-the-devastation-of-derek-carr-injury-left-raiders-star-qb-asking-why
  3. What is Doug Whaley's role in calling the flip, that's what I want to know. How could he not care if it's heads or tails?!
  4. This article by Jenny Vrentas is a pretty good read. It's about McCoy but features ALynn a lot and I found it pretty encouraging if in fact we do settle on him. http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/09/14/nfl-lesean-mccoy-buffalo-anthony-lynn-bills-running-backs-the-mmqb
  5. Whether this is a rebuild or not, I think we can all agree on one indisputable fact:
  6. I'm fairly certain you could submit this as your writing sample and be hired at the Buffalo News.
  7. Saw your boss' beard, please give him my best wishes on his fight with alopecia
  8. That's not what I said at all. When did I say anything about Whaley?
  9. THANKS for the BF_Insiders recommendation. I hadn't read this article and found it illuminating: https://t.co/UejR8V3Jfm
  10. Josina is a good one, i forgot about her
  11. Interviewed in Boca? This organization is a laughingstock! How could Whaley possibly set up and conduct an interview when other people are present?! I bet you they force him to call John Wawrow and say he was in the room when they decided to bench Tyrod.
  12. I didn't realize Sexton was his agent. Same agent who continuously drums up the fake "Doug Marrone is a hot HC candidate so you better hire him" narrative that we actually fell for. I'm actually more inclined to hope they take their time and interview everyone now.
  13. Ignore TBN unless you want to see them retweeting each other and giving each other high fives for their "takedown" of Whaley. I like Joe Chennelly, John Wawrow and Jenny Vrentas (national, but does get info).
  14. Just to clarify things on behalf of Vic: all he said was that Lynn was a shoe-in, who didn't want the job and will now probably take it. I mean, if that definite-doubtful-probable timeline is not consistent I don't know what is.
  15. This is not a league doctor conducting the physical, it's the team doctors. If it's even borderline he will pass. I fail to see how him opting for surgery now as opposed to waiting and checking on the injury in a few weeks is anything but prudent. We are now talking about TONE in statements people. Whether or not this is a negotiating ploy, who really cares? The fact remains the team is undecided on whether to bring him back. Both sides will posture to try and make the March 11 deadline work in their favor in order to advance their interests. The Bills would like to keep the option of bringing Tyrod back but at reduced compensation if the new HC wants him and TT's agent will want to try and use the looming possibility of him not passing his physical as leverage to protect his interests. This is business, that's how negotiations work.
  16. We won this offseason and now this?! I don't understand why Rex was fired, we are clearly establishing a winning tradition here!
  17. I don't know how I feel about this guy. He looks like he has a collection of other people's used socks.
  18. The question is surprising frankly. He was drafted as a multiple-year project who was very raw but had a high ceiling. IMO he outplayed EJ on Sunday and showed some real positives. I'd say his arrow is pointing up, but it would be a real stretch to say he's ready to be a starter in the NFL at this point.
  19. This team should be a rebuild. Our team leaders (AW, KW, EW) are either seriously injured or considering retiring. We have 25 players headed to free agency (likely including our CB1) and likely will return neither of our starting safeties. The non-aged "stars" we have all have issues, be they disciplinary or injury-related.
  20. To clarify - I don't believe they cared about the local media reaction whatsoever. They did not anticipate that the conference would go so off the rails so as to be mentioned in the national conversation as having gone badly. Whaley tried to be cute with his evasive answers and wound up making himself look ridiculous.
  21. If he gets hired I predict people on this board will either be furious or elated, with no one in between.
  22. I see you enjoy taking enormous leaps in "logic" to fit things into your own narrative. This comment is the equivalent of hearing "I don't like Dominoes Pizza, it's mass produced junk" and responding "what do you have against Italians and the working class?" Considering the local media hacks has nothing to do with being a homer, it has everything to do with acknowledging that they are bad at their jobs. There are dozens of questions that should have been asked at the 40 minute long press conference that weren't asked. They chose, quite predictably, not to ask those questions and instead focused on trying to "catch" Whaley in a contradiction. No, they don't, but thank you for white knighting them.
  23. I don't take anything TBN says seriously anymore. When you say something is a sentiment "around the NFL" and then it becomes apparent that what you mean is "around the journalists who cover NFL teams" you've lost me. I don't like people who say vague things to try and bolster their credibility
  24. Guys, it's obvious they simply DONT CARE about public perception. They're incompetently run from top to bottom. I truly believe they think they're smarter than everyone else and will "prove everyone wrong". The thing is whaleys pressed, while hilarious in its distinction, was a disservice to the fans. I don't understand how they don't see that. Whaley was a jerk to the media and they were jerks to him, but he should have at least had some sort of hopeful message for the fans that things will get better, he did not. The organization has no respect for the fans. Bb.com is kind of a joke. I feel bad for the people who have to try and generate content in the hope people will actually care about this team anymore.
  25. The Bills knew it was going to be a crap fest. They sent Whaley out there to get it over with and probably did t care about the reaction til they realized it was a national story for a minute so the owners had to try and smooth things out. SB should have known that would happen if they dogged the PC, he should be fired for that alone.
