  1. I put in an Eagles/Steelers vote as that's what I thought before the games started. Arizona's looking like the 1999 Rams....hey, wait a minute....
  2. No offense, Bill, but if it was a credible source, I might be concerned about it.
  3. Where did this Cardinals' defense come from?? I admit I didn't see most of last week's game against Carolina, but sheesh. This game is over...Baskett just dropped an easy one that would've gone for a first down, at least. The Gods are not smiling on Philly today. As I type that, Curtis catches a deep one.
  4. Isn't it funny how *after* we hear of Jauron's retention that guys like Shanahan & Gruden become available?
  5. Sure...why not? While we're at it, why don't we see if we can get Terrell Owens when Dallas releases him? Think about this and re-think your opinion.
  6. Anyone else think that Flacco & Edwards were separated at birth? Yes, the QB is a pretty darn important position, but if Trent Dilfer can win a Super Bowl..... I also agree that the 4 teams left rarely use their TE, but the 3 of the 4 teams left are there because of their defenses. Only Arizona is there because of their QB...and a terrible game by their last opponent's QB.
  7. I think we already have options. We've seen how well the offense goes with Reed in the lineup, Steve Johnson showed us something (not really All-Pro stuff, but something), and Hardy is still there. Let's not worry about drafting one or picking up a FA until the TE & DE positions are addressed. But the 2nd WR becomes important if Lee Evans gets enough touches. I think Turk needs to be sure that Lee gets the ball as many times as possible, then the 2nd WR (whoever it is) has to be ready to step up.
  8. Yeah....because one bad game (albeit at the wrong time) is a perfect reason to hate a player forever. I'd be completely on board with Toomer. He's the ultimate professional and his veteran presence could only help this group.
  9. As much as I think Gresham would be a welcome addition, I see no reason to fret over this. If the offense would actually use the tight end effectively, we might see what Derek Fine can or can't do. No, he's not Tony Gonzalez or Dallas Clark, but I want to see the TE spot actually be used before we address the need for one.
  10. Bingo. I wanted Freeney, but we weren't in the position to draft him - I think the Bills had a bigger need that year. Maybin reminds me a lot of him, but I'd still put him at the 3rd option behind Brown & Maualuga. DE is a bigger need than LB, but we'd have to take Maualuga if he's still on the board. All of that said, who knows if Jauron & Co. are even thinking this. I'll bet everyone that the brass is probably thinking that a DE is not needed because Schobel will be back...as flawed as that is. Plus with the idiotic money tied up in Kelsay & Denney, who knows if they'd want to spend "first round" money on a DE.
  11. I doubt they'd go with the current throwbacks, but I agree they need to do something. The blue jerseys are ok, but the white ones are flat-out putrid.
  12. Anyone who does not think he should be voted in just because of the recent struggles is short-sighted. What the man did for the AFL speaks volumes about his commitment and character. Ralph is a Hall of Famer.
  13. Those are clearly the main reasons that all the teams who won this weekend did so, but I still think you need to play good to excellent defense and run the ball. Turnovers usually happen because of good defenses, IMO.
  14. A veteran backup QB is not a horrible idea at all. I just don't know if Collins or Leftwich would be available. If Jeff Fisher is THAT high on Kerry Collins, I see no reason why he wouldn't try to keep him on the roster.
  15. Steve Johnson. Mark it down.
  16. How about "Attack of the road teams"? San Diego's up 7-0 already.
  17. Agreed...he actually has a better arm than I gave him credit for. Some of the throws he made against Oklahoma were pretty solid and accurate among tight coverage.
  18. And thanks to Desean Jackson's catch, it's really over, no matter what Philly does here.
  19. The thing with Collinsworth.....he's an arrogant arse when he's a syudio analyst, but he's much more tolerable as a game analyst.
  20. Which goes to show that you can be a great, HOF-caliber football player, but terrible with a mic in front of a camera. Apparently, all you need to be is a high-profile player or an ex-player with a wild personality to get a job like that. Of the ex-players currently broadcasting, IMO, Aikman is easily the best of them with Daryl Johnston not far behind. I'd probably put Ron Jaworski in that list, also.
  21. Thank you. Fox isn't going anywhere. It was strange that they kept throwing the ball and it may have been a flawed game plan, but this one time (albeit in the playoffs) shouldn't cost the man his job.
  22. I think that or a Giants-Steelers Super Bowl gets pretty high ratings.
  23. There's no way Philly lets him go.
  24. Two long passes, combined with a Tenn missed FG and 2 turnovers, and Baltimore is about to take the lead. I picked the Titans to win and now I'm wondering if they're overrated or just suffering from bad luck today.
  25. Wow!!! I didn't think the Titans could run on Baltimore, but Chris Johnson is running with some fire.
