  1. I like that Carolina score - I just don't see the Cardinals stopping Williams/Stewart, but they do have the passing game to come from behind, if necessary. I don't know that Philly will win by 10, but I think they'll win a close one...something like 23-20. Their D is on fire right now.
  2. I could live with Orakpo. I think Aaron Maybin should be considered, also. I just think the pass rush is the most important thing to address. If Maualuga is there at 11, I see no reason not to go for him.
  3. You mean "props", right? Charles Davis isn't bad at all & I wouldn't mind hearing him more often. That said, I never liked the move to Fox for the BCS when CBS & ABC/ESPN are the major players. I'd much rather hear Brad Nessler, Bob Griese, & Paul Maguire than the no-names Fox is throwing at us.
  4. I'd have to say no...Kansas City's offense runs around him, so that's probably why you saw his good numbers. He might have made an impact, but I don't think enough to get 3-4 more wins....not with the way the coaches ran this offense down the stretch.
  5. I won't disagree that a TE is a huge need right now and Gresham would fill that, but I agree with Chris Brown....pass rush is WAY more important right now. It's the first thing the brain trust needs to address, whether via free agency or draft.
  6. Love it, love it, love it!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Give it some time....I think we're all still feeling the depression of witnessing a season of missed opportunity combined with the confirmation that nothing will change into next year. Heck, I usually get depressed come playoff time when my team desperately needs to be there. About all I can tell you is to wait & see what happens with the draft and free agency. We can *hope* the personnel will have some positive additions. I don't see any changes in the coaching patterns, unfortunately.
  8. Seems to me that 50% is more of an average across the entire league. The Colts', Patriots'*, and Ravens' picks you detailed clearly are the best over the past 10+ years, but I'm sure we can find a few teams whose entire group of first rounders were colossal busts or just didn't make it. Regarding who has the most say in personnel, I'm leaning towards Jauron. My gut tells me that he makes the decision on the personnel with input from Guy & Modrak and lets Brandon do the contract negotiating. In other words, Jauron is pretty much the GM without the title.
  9. Agreed on Ralph, Bruce, and Andre. I think Reed is a long shot this year, but deserves induction eventually. I don't know about Tasker getting dissed. As much as I loved the way he played and what he did for the team, I've pretty much given up hope that he'll get a chance.
  10. We feel for you...really. This doesn't strike me as terribly surprising. Dungy is one of the classiest guys in the business, but he's had the 1-and-done reputation ever since Tampa Bay. Just as we're all sick of not getting to the level of the playoffs, I'm sure a lot of Indy fan's aren't thrilled with not getting past the first round of the playoffs. Dungy also had considered retirement after last year (and maybe ever since his son died?), so I wouldn't be shocked to see him walk away.
  11. A lot of us said the same thing after the Cleveland game....bench him for a series or two or even the game to get his head in order. It sends a message to the team that if you're not doing your job, you won't play. This is what Lindy does and we've seen immediate evidence. You can be a "players coach" and still be a leader by being tough. It's like training a dog....praise them for doing something right, but make sure he/she knows who's boss.
  12. That's one of the better ways of describing Jauron's style that I've seen. What was so maddening about the SF game was that Trent came off the KC game playing well and I figured that gave him some confidence. It tends to give more credibility to the injury, but I still don't know if I buy it. That's another thing Jauron has done....give excuses for poor performances. I'm sure that no coach wants to call out his players to the public, but extreme cases may call for it. If you quietly tell a player he has to get better or else, it's a completely different effect on their motivation than if they hear it on ESPN.
  13. Maclin's good, I agree, but he's not what we'd need at the 11th pick....or even late in the first round if that happened. There's plenty of depth at WR with Evans, Reed, Hardy, & Johnson, even you trade away Roscoe. Plus, he's a redshirt sophomore - I doubt he's declaring for the draft, unless you've heard otherwise. Depending on how late in the first round the second pick would be, I wouldn't be terribly confident that a *game-changing* pass rusher is still available...be it Maualuga, Everette Brown, or Aaron Maybin...and that's a glaring need, IMO.
  14. McShay also doesn't see Maualuga in the top 10.
  15. One of the best Sullivan articles I've read. Lindy coaches with tough love - if you don't put in the effort, you don't play. Jauron just coaches with love.
  16. I watched the first half, but not the second (I recorded it and hope to watch it later). Orakpo *was* that good in the first half. I can think of a few plays off the top of my head where he disrupted the play and Pryor either scrambled away or was sacked.
  17. While one could find it humorous, it definitely wasn't appropriate. Shows a little immaturity by Mauluga, IMO. Wonder if Pete Carroll has seen this and/or said anything to him about it.
  18. I think where you're going is that this is on Jauron. Turk had things running pretty well up to 5-1 and even through the loss to the Jets in November. It was after that loss where things got conservative and while Schonert could have taken the careful mentality/approach, he knew that his job was to get the offense to be more dynamic and less predictable. I doubt Schonert made things conservative all on his own.
  19. Bingo. I'm not sure why he doesn't have 100% of the votes.
  20. There's a reason for that. While the lack of a real, pass-catching TE has been a killer, an upgrade on the DL is more needed than anything, IMO. My only concern is that the staff will stick with Kelsay because of his contract. If not and their collective heads are out of their arse, Everette Brown and Aaron Maybin are the two guys I'd target....depending on what happens in free agency.
  21. If any of you sell your stuff on ebay, let me know. I'd love to get some good Bills stuff for cheap.
  22. You actually have Maualuga taken by Denver at #12 and still available. Nevertheless, I'd still take Everette Brown. Maualuga would likely be gone at #17, anyway, though I wouldn't trade down.
  23. Precisely the reason Emmitt Smith shouldn't be on TV. I actually thought Millen was one of the best analysts on TV while he was there. He knew the Xs & Os and was able to effectively communicate that to the audience. Not many remember that, since it was about 7-8 years ago (??). As a GM, he was the polar opposite. Putting him on any TV pre or postgame show is a horrible PR move, despite how much he may know about the Xs and Os of the game.
  24. That's the game right there. Even if Miami gets a FG on that drive, it's a 1 possession game. Down 11 points with about 7:00 remaining to a team that can run the ball.....
