It's not, but we all know the Patriots* had some...uh..."inside knowledge" of what the other team was going to do.

I'll try to add to the positive vibe.... Yes, the Broncos defense isn't exactly the 2000 Ravens, but to come back from a lifeless 13-0 deficit tells me something. I still think the coaches need to jump these guys at the beginning of the game and not spot the other team a few points like that. I think this should also tell other teams (as if they didn't know already) that maybe someone should cover Josh Reed. I would have never thought of saying this 2-3 years ago, but Reed really has been the key to the offense. Perhaps everyone else thinks that Reed can't keep doing this, so Evans keeps drawing the double coverage...but eventually, someone will figure out that they can't let Reed keep burning them.

Anyone know when we'll know the TV schedule for week 17? NBC announced tonight that they will have Denver @ San Diego for the night game, so since CBS loses that game (it was their only 4:00 game), I'm hoping the Jets-Dolphins gets moved to 4:15 so we can see the Bills at 1:00.

I seriously think he is arrogant enough to do it. I don't know if he will, but keep it on the radar.

On the surface, this would be the only reason Brady is traded. It's very possible that he won't the same QB after this injury, not to mention, we know the healing process was having setbacks earlier this year. That said, I don't think it'll happen, but I also think Belichick is arrogant and crazy enough to do it. I can see it now....Favre retires, then unretires again, but signs with the Vikings only after Brady ends up being traded to the Jets for their 1st in 2009 & 2010.

Someone said that Jauron just hasn't learned from his mistakes....you'd think a Yale guy would be doing this. To me, blowing things up is what Donahoe & Gregg Williams did. They got rid of some veterans and re-vamped the roster with youngsters and brought in an entirely new coaching staff. I don't think this is necessary. I'm concerned going into next season with Jauron, despite what the players say about him. He's been doing the same thing over & over again and hasn't improved the team...which one would expect him to do in his 3rd year. I think it's time to move on, but I also don't think a complete roster overhaul is necessary.

Two Things I Has Happy to See Today
BuffaloWings replied to BillsNYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Bust" shouldn't even be in our vocabulary about Trent yet. We have to see how he plays coming out of a slump and today's game goes a long way towards that evaluation. -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
BuffaloWings replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bend but don't break....that's actually an ironic term, since there are better chances for it to break than not. Not only was it a comparison, but he said he had a stronger arm than Elway. Karma is a b*tch, isn't it Jay? I honestly don't think it was a coincidence that the running game began to improve when Butler returned. I am quite impressed with Steve Johnson. Who was this Hardy fellow everyone spoke of? When we're out of it, I never give a f**k about the draft order. Whatever happens will happen. I prefer that we play spoiler, anyway. -

It's actually "Broncos". -
Patriots getting the calls again...
BuffaloWings replied to Boatdrinks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I started hoping Fox would switch to another game in the 4th quarter, but all they have at 1:00 is this game, San Fran at St Louis, and New Orleans at Detroit. Yay. -

Bobby April ... it's been mentione before ...
BuffaloWings replied to puppet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is probably the best argument I've seen for April. I'd rather see these reasons than "April shows emotion on the sidelines and Jauron doesn't". -
Patriots getting the calls again...
BuffaloWings replied to Boatdrinks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I didn't see any holding there, either. Even Daryl Johnston saw nothing. For a while, I thought the officiating was just getting bad...but it seems obvious that it's pretty corrupt. -
According to our friend Mort...
BuffaloWings replied to The Dean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe, but it's not exactly like they've been running up the score. Plus, they've lost two in a row since the Burress gun incident and haven't really shown much on offense. If Gilbride was as great an OC as some make him out to be, the Giants would constantly be moving the ball and putting up points without their top receiver. -
I started watching the Bills at the end of the 0-for-the-70s against Miami, so I will always have that hatred towards them. I live in the Albany area and I've been sick of the Jets ever since I moved here 20+ years ago. The Favre hype has made it unbearable for me. I hate the Pats* because they're the Pats*...'nuff said. I don't think there's one of these teams that I hate more than the other. I'm an equal opportunity hater. As I said yesterday, I'm rooting for the Ravens so 2 of those 3 don't make it. But as for rooting for one particular team, I won't do that. I'll just root against the division winner in the playoffs.

BuffaloWings replied to The Dean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a curious statement to me...it's not like the Giants are an offensive juggernaut and they've built their offense around the running game and a very good offensive line. Not to mention, look what they've done without Burress....not much. I could have *maybe* seen Gilbride as a hot coordinator after the Superbowl last year, but not now. -
Do Nothing for one more year, then hire Holmgren
BuffaloWings replied to VJ91's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd have a hard time seeing him just retire after this season. This is setting up to be identical to the Parcells situation...leave coaching for a year, then come back as the front office man. Ideally, this is what we need to do....hire a football guy to be GM (doubt Holmgren would be President with Russ Brandon around) and let him bring in his guys to run the show. I'd love to see this happen...Holmgren's influence would be perfect for this team...but it's a pipe dream right now. -
Quoth the Ravens..NEVERMORE
BuffaloWings replied to El Presidente's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this signals the beginning of the end for Wade in Dallas. If they somehow manage to sneak into the playoffs, it would be nothing short of a miracle. If they don't, Jason Garrett takes the wheel next year and Wade is looking for a coordinator job. -
Agreed...but Bledsoe is the type of QB that needed a solid - almost dominant - offensive line. We didn't have that and it exposed his lack of mobility, leading to the offense going downhill fast. At the same time, it was wrong to just hand the starting job to JP, who had less than a year of even being on the sidelines watching Bledsoe.

Good post....I think this pretty much nails it. I think a lot of us have heard of the rumors of what is being said behind closed doors regarding Ralph, which leads us to not want as much of a meddling owner as he now seems to be. That said, I wish Mort would just let it go. Maybe his motivations are simply to try and get his buddy some consideration from other teams, but it's reflecting bad on his professionalism. The more he gives Donahoe some on-air credit, the more us Buffalo fans will lose respect for him.

Fair enough. I was never really asking for a blow-up....to me, that includes the players and coaches. I think we have the players to do it. I can buy giving Turk some time and for the players to gel with his offense. But how do we explain the bad in-game management over the past 3 years? The time management hasn't been good, Jauron's play-challenging abilities are head-scratching, and we now have to wonder how often he's calling plays when he clearly admitted that he called the JP-roll-out-fumble-give-away-the-game play.
-
That and it's the definition of insanity. Continuity is a good idea when things are going well. The Bills maintained continuity this year by simply promoting someone from within to be the OC. Everything else was the same....and the team still floundered. Why would we think that maintaining the same offensive (and possibly defensive) philosophies would help this team? It's not like half the roster was on IR or the one player who couldn't possibly get injured did so. Something needs to be done...Jauron is responsible for maintaining leadership and bringing the team out of the funk they were in and that didn't happen. His terrible on-field management has been badly exposed - including time management and when to throw the challenge flag. The offensive plays have become terribly predictable, yet mind-boggling at the same time. At this point, I think any PR effort to sell the Bills with Dick Jauron as coach is like trying to sell a cold front to the North Pole.

To me, it's not necessarily that he's not wrong...just that he insists on hyping up a guy whose tenure here was a failure. If he was so good of a "football guy", then he should have another job by now.
