I don't know.... I understand why a lot of people are down on Trent and wouldn't mind replacing him with Cutler, but I'm starting to wonder about Cutler now. I agree that the kid has tremendous talent, but don't necessarily agree with the fact that he needs more time. He's been in the league for 3-4 years or so? That's enough time to be able to start showing whether or not he's an elite QB and he hasn't quite done that yet. By no means am I saying that Trent is anywhere near elite, but I think I'd rather stick with Edwards right now. He's been given the weapons and he has shown some leadership, so I'm willing to run with him at the helm. Cutler can also shoot his mouth off, showing a little immaturity. Phillip Rivers is a tad cocky, but he's been backing it up with wins. Jim Kelly was a tad cocky in his early days, but he was also backing that up with wins. Remember, this is a guy who claimed he has a stronger arm than Denver's all-world savior, John Elway. Saying something like that in Denver is like telling the Catholic church that you have more faith than Pope Benedict.

Yeah, because a 4-0 record is the perfect reason to think a team is a fraud. I'll be cautiously optimistic. As ganesh said, it will be against a tough schedule, so there would be some serious excitement because of that. But that doesn't mean we'll finish like we started. The fans have clearly learned their lesson over the years, we can only hope the coaching staff does the same.

So, what's the story with Andre Smith (OT - Alabama) leaving the combine early? I would have thought that he would need to show up and impress the scouts to give himself a better rep. From the quick snippet I saw on E$PN, it sounded like he felt that he didn't need to be there and the scouts were ticked that he left early.

It's a major need because the guys behind Schobel are no better than a backup on any team. You saw what happened when Schobel went down. And yes, they are WAY overpaid.

Quite a loss, indeed. Sounds like Alison was a wonderful person. The more I read about this, the more it seems that someone here is closely affected by this tragedy. I can't express my sympathy enough for everyone in the area who may be affected by this tragedy in any way.

This was the first fatal crash of a commercial flight since around August of 2006, so we're talking about over 2.5 years in between. My wife used to frequently travel across the country for work. When I asked her if she was ever concerned about her plane crashing, she said if it happens, then it happens. You don't know when or where these tragedies will happen, so you can't live your life worrying about that.

MSNBC & CNN said that two people miraculously made it out of the house, but one did not. My prayers & condolences go out to all of the families involved in this. I can only imagine what everyone is going through.

I think we oughta keep an eye on this situation....are both Batch and Leftwich UFAs? If so, I would imagine Pittsburgh would want one of them back. Whoever they do re-sign, the Bills should go after the other.

It's like the age of political correctness....people are way too sensitive these days. That said, when we see these vicious hits that result in concussions or even spinal injuries, I don't necessarily blame players for being a tad cautious.

The Bills were also supposed to be this past year's version of "worst-to-first" or something like the surprise team to make the playoffs. There is always some speculation about who will be "this year's <insert surprise team that makes a Super Bowl run here>" and to me, it's always bogus. Once it's thrown out there that Houston, San Fran, & Buffalo could be that team, then they won't become that team because they're now being watched like a hawk.

You make a good argument as to why the QB play this year led to our downfall. Fine, I can accept that. But are you suggesting that we dump Edwards because his slump led to more conservative play-calling, which led to his decreased confidence, which led to his poor play? I'm not anointing Trent as the next Joe Montana (not even close), but you're ready to give up on him after a year-plus?
