  1. As we've said, the Bills have 5 preseason games. Plenty of time for Edwards to get his reps in. I don't see the point of bashing a coaching staff for something that goes on in AUGUST.
  2. I think this is a bit strong. Maybin *may* have not started, anyway, but that's not the point. He still has a few weeks left in camp (presuming he actually does sign), so there's time to get things in order. The Bills are only 1 preseason game into the summer...and they have an extra game on everyone else. If Maybin comes in this weekend, I won't be too worried.
  3. Lottery numbers & stock suggestions would be preferable.
  4. I'm wondering about the depth at TE...Derek Schouman as the starter? What I saw out of Derek Fine last year seems good enough to start him over Schouman, but I may be splitting hairs.
  5. I'm not worried about this....yet. It will happen soon enough, but the longer this goes, the longer it looks like Segal is just being your typical a-hole agent. I'm sure he knows how much the Bills need Maybin. This is why I HATE the way rookies are treated in the NFL. The league needs to cap rookie salaries.
  6. Whatever it takes, I guess. I'm a proud dog owner and love them with everything I've got. What many non-owners don't realize is how much they are part of your family. If you don't understand that, you have nothing to contribute to this debate. What Vick did was disgraceful and I don't think any good human being could ever understand why someone would have done what he did, especially (as Dean said) when he didn't need the money. To me, that's the telling sign that Vick has something mentally wrong with him. What also irks me about this is those who say "he's paid his debt to society, so let him play". Who on this planet is ever authorized to determine whether or not someone has paid their debt? If you commit a crime, you're a criminal and you pay for it the rest of your life...not necessarily just life in prison, but there are plenty of other ways to pay for a mistake.
  7. Thanks. Unfortunately, I'm one of the unlucky Time Warner customers that doesn't get NFLN. I'll keep an eye out.
  8. Hey Tim (and Lori, if you know), Will the Hall of Fame Inductions be re-broadcast some time this week? I missed it last night and my DVR was only set for 3 hours, so I didn't get Bruce Smith's speech. I was hoping to have it for Friday, when a friend & I were going to watch it. Youtube isn't the same. Thanks!
  9. I hope so....I wanted to see Bruce. It was on ESPN Classic at 1:00 today, but I missed that, too.
  10.   Call me crazy, but I didn't think to set it to go an extra hour. Here's hoping ESPN will re-air it soon. Dammit.
  11. Don't tell me Bruce was last...I couldn't watch last night (going to watch it later in the week with a friend) and my DVR was set to go 3 hours.
  12. I was more nervous as SBs 27 & 28 came about...knowing that group wasn't going to get many more chances, not to mention stopping the world from making jokes of us. If they made it this year, I'd be nervous, but wouldn't expect a thing.
  13. Heck, why don't they move camp to Erie, for that matter. I can understand having camp within an hour - maybe two - of your home field, since you'll likely have many of your fans in that town, anyway. But having it halfway across the state (and NY isn't small) reeks of intent to infringe.
  14. I think Biscuit is referring to the banner at the top of this web page. Which I approve of, also.
  15. The coaches can give Trent a handful of plays at the beginning of the drive, but I do believe he'd need to either call his own plays or get something from the coaches during the drive. This isn't a "hurry-up", it's a no-huddle. It just means they don't go into a huddle before the next play, so I don't think this is a huge deal. Besides, it might force the coaches to get their act together. All of this said, I ask again....WHY IS THIS BEING ADVERTISED? Now that the entire NFL knows the Bills will be running the no-huddle, why can't other coaching staffs prepare for this?
  16. Thanks for the links...it's great to see him looking good!
  17. Indeed. Great coach taken from us too soon. RIP, Jim.
  18. I hops it's anyone other than the team in Orchard Park.
  19. Great update and we all appreciate it! However, let's not get caught up in the excitement yet. TO is doing what he can to win over the fans and the team, so it makes complete sense that he's acting like a true professional. I still don't yet trust him not to cause some major waves as the season goes on. I hope he doesn't and I hope he keeps acting like a professional, but I'm proceeding with cautious optimism.
  20. And that's the biggest problem with this system. It's ridiculous how NFL rookies get so much with their first contracts. I agree with Sage...they're not proven and they should just be thrilled that they're in the league. I also agree that the agents have almost everything to do with it, but I will never understand why teams shell out so much for someone who hasn't played a down. The NBA actually does it right...rookie salary caps. If the NFL did this, I'd almost guarantee most rookies would be in camp on time.
  21. I thought it was a good interview. Trent seemed pretty content with his answers. I especially liked how he said he wasn't going out of his way to talk to other QBs about TO.
  22. I wonder how much of this is the NFL "encouraging" ESPN not to talk about it much. Roethlisberger is a big name for positive reasons and I don't doubt the league would do what they could to keep his name from being smeared.
  23. The defense was phenomenal that year. In order to get to the SB, they would have had to beat Indy and then Jacksonville on the road. As good as the D was - and we would've likely seen RJ start, too - I don't think they would have beaten Indy. There are plenty of plays I want back, but a few that haven't been mentioned: 1. Flutie to Reed in Miami during the '98 playoffs. Reed looked like he got into the end zone and (I'll argue to this day) was just getting up to get back to the line of scrimmage when he ran into the ref and got a cheap 15-yard penalty. 2. "Just give it to 'em" (the 4th down pass to the sidelines) 3. Kelly being picked in the '96 playoffs against Jax. Bills were up 10-0 (I think) at that point and steamrolling the Jags when the DL picked off a screen pass and ran it in.
  24. I won't start the eternal debate, but I still think that was the most perfectly thrown ball - it was EXACTLY perpendicular to the sideline. Wasn't there an RIT physics professor who explained that it wasn't a lateral, due to the way the field was crowned, etc.?
  25. Have you watched the NFL outside of Buffalo in the past 5 years? To me, Owens will earn his keep if he keeps his mouth shut, plays hard, and helps the team win.
