  1. Seen many posts stating injuries are no excuse, all teams have them and that is true. But how many have probably their best 4 defensive players all out 3 of them long term. There's an article came out today in the BN stating Bills lead the league in percent of salary cap on IR. Up till now all their players on offense have remained the same so the defense does have an excuse more and they looked real strong prior to the injuries. There was chart showing how the Bills offense is still coming up with big plays, 14 of them in Sundays game, but only 3 were before halftime.
  2. But the list of unsuccessful ones is much longer than the successful ones. History says better chance you go backwards than forward.
  3. I don't think McD leaving means Beane is gone. Most often GM's get at least two shots at the HC position. In this case Beane didn't even have one. I'd be surprised if Beane fell on his sword for McD, that would be rather unprecedented. But if he was gone that does further complicate things.
  4. Top part sounds reasonable, part in bold likely is a 2 to 3 year plan. Yes KC did it, but without changing coaches. As soon as you do that likely changing schemes and more of a rebuild. You also don't know for certain if Allen is going to be reinvigorated or PO'd that they got rid of the guy he wanted as OC. Admittedly it would be interesting to know what Allen really really thinks of Dorsey at this point??
  5. And what makes you think Ben Johnson will be a better HC? Other than he's an offensive mind? Every year roughly 25% of the coaches in the league are canned, many of them all were up and coming OC's who turned out as HC not very good. You bring a new HC, you also are likely looking at a scheme change on both sides of ball and new personal. Likely in a mini rebuild for a couple years.
  6. Yeah, but how do you know Williams is going to be any good? There's a very long list of can't miss college QB's who did turn out to be misses in the NFL. Much longer list of misses than successes. Just look at Allen's rookie class, Darnold, Rosen were complete busts, Mayfield has been far from a success. Allen and Jackson have been the bright spots. Couple years later didn't San Fran move up to pick the guy they just traded away.
  7. Not likely. You fire McD, likely new HC would either be Washington, Babish, or maybe it's Dorsey. LOL I suppose that would be one way to get rid of him as OC. Barring that more likely Dorsey stays as OC
  8. Not sure I'd really put Allen in the good as it was his bad play early that created the hole. As others stated would add Cook to the good along with Kincaid. McD's defense looked real good until the top 4 players are out and in particular both DT's. Put both of them back on the field and things likely look much different. All teams have injuries, but how many lose their top 4 on one side of the ball? Offense is a problem, but put more of the blame there on play calling. And with all the injures on defense, offense has to play better. Dorsey was the toast of the town after Miami game, since then has been plain toast. Seems if he puts a good game plan together, and it works great, but when it doesn't work, nothing much is done different. Though do wonder if some of that problem is due to McD pushing the Dorsey to be more balanced?
  9. White looked pretty bad last year and he sat out a full year. Likely not going to get much out of Miller this year till maybe very late or in playoffs assuming the Bills get that far. This is also the 2nd time for Miller and older. Way too early to say he's toast, but right now, he's not effective much at all.
  10. That has been hurting them, but with your 4 best defensive players out, that happens. Teams may have started to figure out Bernard. Jones being out is a huge loss. Part about Allen just sitting there is interesting, hadn't thought about it prior. Is he told the coaching staff, he's getting too much info and it's overwhelming him and confusing things more. Or did Dorsey tell the other coaches to leave him alone, something else going on?
  11. Yes for the first three weeks of the season, lately haven't looked that good. Have teams figured out Torrance, maybe? Dawkins lately has been playing like he was last year. Not sure what the issue is?
  12. Tend to agree, they are too good to not be in playoff contention and once you get in, you never know. All of a sudden they could figure things out again on offense. At this point think the only things I'd consider at this point would be firing Dorsey and trying to find DT help.
  13. Think it can be a little of all of the above. Yes he delivered some great passes, but did also miss and was off target more than normal so do wonder if it was the shoulder. Also do agree with the comments that the issue is in Allens head, seems lately there is some truth there too. To say his shoulder is fine is laughable as no one here posting really knows the answer on than Allen saying it's fine, but what would you expect him to say. Bigger issue seems to be the overall offense play calling. Last week Knox dropped a pass, but wasn't a great throw either, was 50/50 ball. Today, that was a big drop with no excuses should have been an easy catch. 1st couple of weeks o line looked real strong, lately they have become a mess too. Then add in you're likely missing your best 4 defenders or at worst 4 of the top 6 including your best two run stoppers
  14. The irony is he's more likely to pass the all time loss record first and no one will ever break that. My son in law who is a big Pats fan thinks it's worthless for him to go after that as he figures Andy Reid will beat out both of them for most wins, though he's not exactly a spring chicken either.
  15. Yeah I couldn't recall when I wrote this, was he All Pro or Pro Bowl which is like anyone still standing in January makes the Pro Bowl. So to be safe and not be challenged, I said top 10, but I felt he was more like top 5 or higher too.
  16. I think Bernard could be better than Edmunds, but that's big leap for Williams to be better than Milano, who is being talked about as one of top 10 in league if not higher. That being said Williams could be better than Milano post injury or at least through the 2024 season. By 2025 Williams is in his 3rd year, so could see him replacing Milano barring a miraculous recovery. Certainly this injury will drastically accelerate Williams learning curve. But overall IMO team would be better right now, by year end, and in 2024 with Milano & Bernard as the starters.
  17. Here's my pet peeve on this subject. A DL jumps off sides but the play continues. Then an O lineman commits a hold to prevent his QB from getting killed and penalties offset.
  18. In yesterdays BN this was discussed and comment was likely won't be able to afford him as teams tend to over pay for pass rushers so likely the idea of a hometown discount goes out th window. Maybe if the Bills sign him now could get him cheaper, but if they wait till year end, be surprising unless they make him their top priority to resign. Though think they'd also want to sign D Jones more longer term too.
  19. One article stated he was on the filed on the two longer, late runs be Barkley. After the 2nd one, he was pulled.
  20. Good thing Oliver has a big new contract with all the fines he's been racking up.
  21. Is this 3 weeks in a row now with a dumb penalty by Oliver?
  22. Interesting article I read yesterdays can't recall where, compared Milano's rookie year, how Rambo Hunter was stater and Milano was brought along slowly, but by the end of the year though he was the starter. Article thought the same thing may happen here, on likely running plays, you'll see Dobson, but on pass plays Williams and if if Williams learns not to over pursue will see more of him.
  23. When I looked at this weeks schedule all I saw were bad game in the entire 1:00 slot. So can't say western NY got screwed, the entire country did. Bengals were supposed to be one of the best teams in conference so that was expected to be a good one. If you really were interested in watching the Miami Carolina game, I'd suggest finding a better hobby.
  24. Yeah, but they'd be great on field goals!
  25. No I count 9 as big. I meant numbers as in they had to let someone go so he was the odd man out and likely didn't want to sign him to more than 1 year deal based on age.
