The Jet's are playing the Bills this week. Of course this is a story! -

Rex and Rob Ryan's Tops Commercial
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I liked the little take off on the Beatles Abbey Road album, with them "marching" across the street. -
Was it deciphered and obsoleted or did he just not have the players that he had initially? The other thing that I think may have effected him in NY, the last two years, Mike Pettine was gone as DC and DT took over as DC. Personally I think DT is pretty clueless, in that respect and glad to see Rob here as think he will basically take Rex's place at running the defense. For Rex's defense to succeed the biggest star needs to be Rex himself, and last year Mario tried to over shadow him and just created a mess.

Bills sign former Bengals WR/KR Brandon Tate
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We've heard of him... No wait, that was Golden Tate! -
Of course!! If they had lost those two seasons, then it would have been on Rex, but since they won, then it's not on him So using your argument, if Rex had won last year and team made the playoffs again it would have been because of the team he inherited. So since they lost with a team that wasn't his as you argue, then guess you can't blame him for the loss now either can you. Wasn't his team!

Practice Squad: When? & Who?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to CSBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have limited slots, can't see using one on a kicker who's only reason he's even been with the Bills is because Carp has a weak leg for kick offs. If Carp were to get hurt, they could either likely sign gay as a street FA or sign some ex kicker who is currently not working. -
Depth will be a problem this year
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree, but you can kind of make the argument that depth is strong just not very good as a #2 or #3 WR -
NFL Sunday Ticket 2016
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to KellyToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I haven't had the streaming service In a few years now, but at that time many of the bells and whistles were not available via streaming, like you couldn't do the 4 window view in full screen mode, so you'd be looking at a postage stamp sized view of game. Seems there were some other things too missing from what I recall. In some case buttons were there, but greyed out, like they had plans for the feature, but not yet working. -
Fragile Freddie accuses doctors

For my 2,999 post! Be careful with that word, a couple letters off, could have a much different meaning. Though the shoulder part would be interesting to see! -
Sunday Ticket on JetBlue?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to The Avenger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jet Blue does have free internet, they call it Wi-Fly (how cute) so if you have ST you could probably log onto your account. If think you could also pay to upgrade to a higher speed. Hope it's a long trip as it wasn't very fast, so may take awhile to connect, but maybe the paid upgrade is good. We happened to be flying right over where my daughter lives and sent her a text to wave. She was shocked as didn't understand how I could be in a plane sending a text. -
Would Manning come out of Retirement?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to realtruelove's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah but I doubt he expected to be anywhere as bad last year as he was. He also suffered getting benched for the 1st time ever. Really can't see it happening. -
Sanchez to be cut by Broncos...
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems with vets, teams try to do the guy a favor, if the person really isn't in their plans cut him ASAP to give him a chance and finding another team. (Unless it's NE) -
That's about the only way to "stash" him, put him on IR. Unless he's hurt much worst than we know and is likely to be unavailable for some time, can't see any way around it other than cut him and hope no other team selects him, but typically a 4th rounder who has looked decent in training camp would never make it through waivers. I suppose the Bills could start a rumor that Jones has failed his 3rd drug test since camp started. Maybe that would keep other teams away.

So we also have from what I've read a good blocking TE. So you're saying after Clay and Gragg and the blocking TE, the rest all suck?? Do I have that right?? Um.... so first off, how many of the rest of those guys do you even think will be on the roster?? secondly, exactly how many teams have a top level 4th string TE??

Historically GM's usually survive at least two if not three coach hiring's before they figure out the GM may actually be the problem here. Whaley has sort of hired two coaches, however one of them quit which is kind of an unprecedented move in the NFL so nothing to really gauge that against, and the second one if the rumors are true was more Pegula's choice than Whaley. Supposedly Whaley wanted Hue Jackson. So maybe I'd give Whaley a total of one coach hiring for him at this point. Assuming this year is a complete disaster, if anything I could see at year end Pegula fires Rex and tells Whaley, OK, you choose the next coach and I won't get involved this time other than to talk to the guy before we sign the contract, but you pick him (or her).

Start saving for possible 2021 lockout
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They were talking about this same last week on the Mike and Mike show, how baseball was able to build up a huge war chest, but will never work in the NFL because the players careers are so short, they'd basically be striking to make sure the guys in HS won't be subject to Roger ruling on suspensions. Or they can agree to instead take an extra 5% in their pension and Roger keeps doing the same. Which will it be?? They also mentioned how 90% of the players in the NFLPA never get suspended or fined, so again why go on strike for the 10% bad apples. -

The problem isn't that Wilcox is so bad, the problem is that he does the Bills games every other week or so!! -
Are we sleeping on this team?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought his column was pretty lame. Yes what he stated is true, but every team in all sports does the same. Backups are expendable, you make examples out of them, but not starters. Plus he also conveniently forgot to mention that the Bill's have decent depth at RB. If everyone stayed healthy at RB until week #5 (which is a very big if) who should you cut to bring Karlos back? It was kind of similar to the Fred Jackson situation last season, he may only be the #4 guy. -
Who hurt and who helped.... Pre-season game 2
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was kind of wondering if this was more of an audition for Gay for other teams to look at him. Maybe they've seen enough of Carpenter in camp to know he can and will handle kick offs this year. So we'll give his leg a rest tonight (though he did still kick off) and let Gay show other teams what he can do whe nwe cut him. If so, wasn't a very good audition for him.
