Unbelievable that Chiefs fans are crying foul after essentially being gifted the 1 seed. I’ll never be a bigger Raider fan than I will be on Saturday.

They should’ve just flipped a coin on the Bills/Bengals game to determine seeding. Everything else is messier than it probably should be.

Records would end at Ravens 11-6, Bengals 11-5. Ravens can’t catch them.

Yeah I’m talking about the Bengals couldn’t complain about the Bills being a one seed if they were to lose to the Ravens. That would’ve eliminated them as a 1.

Right now in Buffalo because the release said “and” not “or” when describing teams that played an unequal number of games and had a chance at the one seed. That “and” should’ve read “or,” so if that were to happen, I’d think the Bengals would have a legitimate gripe if that game were in Buffalo.

That’s the only scenario where the Bills would be an uncontested 1 seed, even if the Bengals had beaten them, but it also has like a 1% chance of happening 😅

Stand corrected, it said “and” not “or.” If this is the scenario and the Bills are lucky enough to come away with the 1 seed and meet CIN in the AFCCG, the Bengals would have a legitimate gripe for the game being in Buffalo. In an ever changing NFL, I wouldn’t be surprised if public pressure forced them to take another look if it were to come to pass.

This is correct. Which is why if the Bills DO get the 1 seed and meet CIN in the AFCCG, the game would have to be held at a neutral site since CIN had a chance at the 1 seed. The NFL’s release specifies an AFCCG neutral site only for those teams who had a shot at the 1 seed.

This is with the assumption the Chiefs win on Saturday. You’re not factoring in the chance the Bills could still earn the 1 seed, which is with a victory versus the Pats and a Chiefs loss.

How’s that if the Chiefs lose to the Raiders and the Bills beat the Pats? They’d have the higher winning percentage.

Yeah I said that above, we get the bye and the 1 seed, but if we happen to face the Bengals in the AFCCG, Cinci would have a real gripe if the game was played in Buffalo since they theoretically could’ve been the #1 seed if they won their last two games while beating the Bills and with a Chiefs loss.

The argument is only for those teams who had a shot at the #1 seed and if the Bengals had won their last two and the Chiefs lost one of their last two, they would’ve been the #1 seed. Can’t have the Bills vs Bengals in Orchard Park for the AFCCG if it comes to that.

So if KC loses, the Bills win, and the Bengals win, then the Bills get the 1 seed and the bye, but would have to face off against CIN at a neutral site since CIN would’ve been the 1 seed had they beaten Buffalo.

Even though Rhodes has never played safety, I’d have to believe he’d be better at that position than an undrafted journeyman on his 3rd or 4th team but hey, I’m just a guy sitting on a couch 😅

Really don’t understand this. Can’t be that Rhodes has been outperformed by every DB on the roster.

I like the idea of scrapping all results from week 16, thus giving every team a 16 game schedule. Something Albright has also said is on the table. Don’t know how this works in regards to stat keeping though, can’t imagine players would be happy.

Does anyone have video of the Tre White pass interference? My stream was still on the college game when it happened.

Looked like they were trying to intimidate the Bills, to establish they were the tougher team. Not sure how it would’ve played out over the course of the game. I do know if Hamlin was simply out for the game, I would’ve had little to no faith in a secondary comprised of a 70% Tre White, Dane Jackson, Siran Neal, a hobbled Poyer, and the backup to the backup safety in Cam Lewis.

Whatever happens here will set precedent for every game that meets a similar situation moving forward.

I’ve heard that real life Chiefs fans are great, rivaling Bills fans in their kindness, but certain voices on CP mire the entire fanbase in douchebaggery. And they always happen to be the loudest.

The only scenario in which the game wouldn’t matter last night is if the Bills beat the Pats, the Bengals lose to the Ravens, and the Chiefs lose to the Raiders. If it doesn’t play out exactly like this, I’m all for the coin toss to determine the 1 seed versus just handing it to KC because the game went down as a no contest. EDIT: Actually in this scenario it’d matter to the Bengals because the Ravens could potentially win the division on the coin flip. It won’t be fair to any team it looks like, whatever is decided.

Yeah, the Chiefs will have the 1 seed if they win Sunday. Let me ask this question… is it possible for me to care greatly for what happens to Hamlin and ALSO care who gets the 1 seed? Is it possible to do both? Some of you are acting as though it’s an either/or situation.
