  1. That’s 100% where I’m at with it. The problems run deeper than elite receiver talent.
  2. If all were healthy, who’s #1?
  3. More Mahomes magic 🤮 Have a good night, yall!
  4. If KC scores again I’m going over to baseball.
  5. It was too much to hope the Chiefs would stumble against a Mariota lead team (even if he’s played reasonably well).
  6. He runs around in circles like a squirrel in that pocket, it’s maddening.
  7. More often than not he also will hang in the pocket waiting for routes to develop versus sprinting to the sideline.
  8. The guard who’s playing for Trey Smith has given up pressures too. They’ve got an OL problem right now and I love it.
  9. Mariota throws these strange moon balls that go 20 yards
  10. Why does KC consistently get spots in their favor, no matter the ref crew? It’s bizarre.
  11. I mean, he does shoulder a lot of the blame, he hasn’t played well. If he hit some of these receivers who have been open, I suspect the WR crowd wouldn’t be as loud. Josh doesn’t shoulder all the blame, of course, but he’s not reading the field well or trusting what he sees. His accuracy and ball placement has also been off. We can say “it’s everyone else’s fault,” but Josh simply has to play better and he’d tell you the same.
  12. I was intrigued with Owens as well, given his size, athleticism, and potential smarts, but he never made it to the PS. Bills waived him with an injury designation prior to the last preseason game and never brought him back.
  13. I don’t know where Moore’s head was at on his route, but there was a very quick window there to hit him with a pass. That said, can’t expect Allen to find that minuscule moment on plays like this. The defense won this one with a good call and sticky coverage, Allen was better off throwing it away. It’s not always this bleak though.
  14. Some like to judge based off QBR rather than QB rating and that was poor. A 48 I think I saw. He had 160 yards but 50 of those came on Shakir’s catch and run. Allen didn’t need to be magical this game because Cook was going off, but he WILL need to be magical next week. He’ll need to have his most complete game of the season.
  15. Without looking up stats to support my memory, he ate up the Chiefs OL in the regular season game last year. I remember because Chiefs Planet was talking about how Oliver got the better of Trey Smith all game. EDIT: I’m thinking of the last win in KC, 2023. That was Ed’s best game against the Chiefs. Only half a sack, but very disruptive throughout.
  16. Both Curtis Samuels and Elijah Moore are 4.3 guys. Shakir is mid 4.4s, as is Cook. I don’t think speed is the issue, I think the passing game design is the problem. How those players are utilized.
  17. Haven’t scrubbed through this thread, but has anyone mentioned the clutch tackle by Hancock on Dowdle’s 24 yard run? If Hancock was Rapp, Dowdle scores on that play, but because the stop was made we got a turnover on that drive to negate points. Poyer played 45/54 snaps, but I’d like to see Hancock on the field more and not just on some passing downs here and there.
  18. I’ve always heard a great QB can take an average receiver and make him into a good one, can make a good receiver into a great one and a great receiver an All-Pro/ Hall of Famer. A great receiver can also elevate a QB’s play, of course, and that’s where we are with Allen. We want a guy who can make it happen when Allen isn’t necessarily on his game. A guy who can make plays for his QB when all else isn’t great.
  19. Intentional grounding needs to be revisited, that clearly wasn’t a pass attempt; it was clearly thrown to the ground to avoid getting sacked.
  20. I remember the Josh Allen who had a coming out party against the 49ers (not the snow game, the game in 2020). This current version of Allen is far removed from that one. That kid was a gunslinger who was having fun and was fun to watch. Today he is a neutered version of his old self. Whether that’s because he’s worrying about turnovers, his wide receivers, or isn’t the lead man on offense, I don’t know. But right now everything runs through James Cook.
  21. If I was an opposing DC, I’d play the Bills with a single high safety, 8 players in the box, and plan for passes 15 yards and in. Basically I’d dare them to beat me deep. Allen’s deep pass isn’t great and the Bills receivers aren’t targeted downfield. I’d take the running game away as well as those short passes and dare the Bills to create explosive plays.
