  1. If the ramifications of the Knox contract means we’re down to choosing between extending Edmunds or Oliver, I’m going with Oliver.
  2. Dane Jackson wants to know why he was left off this list 😅 He missed the Dolphins game with the neck injury.
  3. He had a 30+ yard TD called back against the Cowpokes for an illegal man downfield. I thought it was a weak call as the lineman was 3-4 yards past the LoS and his positioning had absolutely no bearing on the play. Refs gonna ref.
  4. Cardinals had 12 seconds and a timeout to get into FG range. Bolts rushed 2, spied with 1, and played legit coverage with the other 8. Game over. And a much different approach to what Leslie Frazier would do in the same situation (rush 4, everyone else 20 yards back).
  5. Now that Von Miller has been hurt and will miss games, EVERY STARTER on defense, with the exception of Daquan Jones, has been injured and missed time. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that since I started following the Bills religiously from ‘97 on.
  6. Josh almost never looks Shakir’s way. Whether that’s Shakir’s fault for not getting open, I don’t know, I don’t have the All-22. It’s almost exclusively, Diggs, Davis, and (insert running back here). Knox only gets a couple looks himself.
  7. Take away Mahomes and Andy Reid wins about the same number. They’re barely scraping by with Patrick against lesser opponents, just like we are.
  8. Seems like the goal was to build his confidence, as they have been doing. Now they’ll have him on tape and he’ll be able to see himself competing in an NFL game without limitations. It’s not ideal, you’d like him to be fully ready to go, especially with our CBs struggling, but at least he got out there for a series. I’d expect them to build on that next Thursday.
  9. The elbow was hurt the third to the last down against the Jets, in a game where Allen largely struggled. The Bills as an offense has struggled greatly for halves at a time ever since the Packers game, where his elbow was also just fine. It’s being used as a scapegoat for some of his poorer decisions lately, the uncharacteristic play didn’t begin with hurting his elbow.
  10. Prediction: if Edmunds comes back - and we’ve still got injuries on the DL - the defense will continue to have a ton of issues and many here will go right back to blaming Edmunds for his slow reaction times.
  11. I was one of the ones for not paying Poyer a large amount of money because of his age and position, but man he really makes a difference. More so than others who were already awarded big contracts. I don’t know how they can do it, with all the other salaries escalating after this year, but would love to see him return for a year or two while we find his replacement. Hamlin is okay back there, but the Bills have always needed to get more athletic on the back end.
  12. Don’t disagree with anything above, the bolded were the points I was making.
  13. Right now he doesn’t because he doesn’t believe he’s ready. I don’t know why that’s so difficult to grasp.
  14. Given the facts we know, I don’t think it’s out of line to say it IS a matter of “want to” with Tre. Up until this point, he hasn’t wanted to step on the field and compete in a competitive NFL game, the reasons for why we’re not privy to and can only speculate. If Tre felt he was ready, he’d be playing, but with all the other facts we have at our disposal, we know that he doesn’t feel ready for whatever reason, therefore, hasn’t wanted to subject himself to a game yet. That’s just the reality of it. EDIT: saying “he doesn’t want to play football” is just a much more heavy handed version of the above.
  15. I learned yesterday the Chargers have their own adjective to describe their blundering ways. Ours is “Billsy,” theirs is “Chargering” 😄
  16. This is what it has been all along, that’s your team decision. Tre isn’t ready to play, but it’s not because the staff is holding him out. And it isn’t because he’s still physically injured to some degree as a few have surmised.
  17. If McD had it to do over again, I’d be surprised if he didn’t take a different stance/approach and say early “Tre White will practice but he won’t play in the game. We don’t feel he’s ready to contribute right now, but will monitor the situation going forward on a week to week basis.” Even if he didn’t believe Tre wasn’t ready to contribute, it’d stop the questioning and the blowback on White. I think that would’ve been the most prudent approach.
  18. McD is king of vagueness, but I thought his comments were unmistakable: “If Tre feels he needs to be at this level…” There’s no tiptoeing around that, Tre doesn’t feel right. As I said earlier, McD could’ve ended any and all attention towards Tre if he said from the get go “we don’t feel he’s ready to contribute in a game.” Instead it’s “we’re taking it day to day…” and that has been the message since he returned to practice almost a month ago. Tre is physically ready, any thoughts that he’s limping around on the field or had a setback are just crazy given how the Bills have treated his comeback and what McD continues to say “or not say.”
  19. It’s “player X doesn’t feel he’s at the level he needs to be to compete and we’ll support his decision.” That’s a team decision. Saying “team decision” was also another way to prevent the pitchforks from really stabbing at Tre. Could you imagine if he was blunt with that reporter and said “it’s been Tre’s decision not to play, our team doctors cleared him long ago.” Good luck getting any free agents here if they believed the head coach doesn’t have your back.
  20. Probably just as fast as before. The real issue coming off an ACL is cutting/changing direction.
  21. McD’s response was in regards to a reporter asking point blank “is it Tre White holding himself out? Or is it the team doctors?” He said it was a team decision, he’s not going to throw his players under the bus. Closest he got to that was his response on the 16th of this month when he said “Tre doesn’t feel he’s at the level he needs to be at, it’s like the gap coming out of training camp, but at some point we’ve got to go.” That was the closest he’s been to pointing the finger directly at Tre. Nowhere did McD say that he, the position coaches, or anyone else doesn’t feel he’s ready to contribute in a game and if he did, it’d put to rest all the animosity towards Tre.
  22. It’s a team decision in the sense the Bills are supporting Tre’s wishes, but if Tre wanted to play, or felt he was ready to play, he’d be on the field. The “team” wouldn’t say no.
  23. He does, but if we did have Kelce, would Josh use him? He’s never had a reliance on the TE. I feel like Knox gets open far more than the ball comes his way, so I’m not sure Kelce would dominate the same way with Josh under center.
  24. Hit the nail on the head with this post. I do wonder if his timeline would be altered if sitting out meant losing money. I wonder if he’d ease himself back into the games rather than make himself an inactive. There’s no financial incentive for him to be back on the field, he’s getting paid regardless. I don’t mean this as an attack on him sitting, but money is a great motivator.
  25. Apparently the Chiefs have won 25 straight games in November and December. November is typically when the Bills struggle and lose to lesser teams. I think Buffalo is truly the only AFC team at KC’s level and the fact they struggle during a period where KC excels, there’s no wonder the “Arrowhead Invitational” is a thing. We don’t have the same consistency or the wherewithal to pull out games we should lose.
