  2. Dante Hall was traded, along with a 3rd Round Pick, to the Rams for their 3rd and a 5th. Essentially, Hall was traded for a 5th. Dante Hall was a much bigger game changer returning punts than Roscoe is. I would not be shocked or hurt if we only got a 5th for him considering.
  3. http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php If you package the #11 and #28, you get a total of 1,910. Which is just under the #3 overall pick and more than the 4th. If KC or Seattle wanted to pull the trigger, we could land either Jason Smith or Eugene Monroe (as St. Louis is expected to take one of them). For it or against it?
  4. Everyone seems to forget the fact that Peters wanted out. It wasn't just a matter of us trading away a "Pro Bowl" LT. The guy didn't want to be here! Given that fact, we should be glad we got something. Not only something, but a 1st Round pick in a draft a week away. Given that fact, i'd say we made out pretty good. Especially when you consider that our pick next year is unknown and reportedly conditional.
  5. Yes, trade Whitner. We need more holes to fill on this team
  6. On his official website (http://www.terrellowens.com), T.O. has a link to his official Twitter account. Who'd have thunk T.O. tweets? Anyways, it can be found at: http://twitter.com/terrellowens81 Interestingly enough, 10 hours ago he posted the following: "I'M N GOOD OL BUFFALO & LOVIN IT!! SNOW & ALL!!" I think that's pretty cool and thought i'd share
  7. I don't think it ends up working out that way. Sanchez's stock is SOARING right now. In 2006, Young, Leinart, and Cutler were all pretty evenly rated. This year, Stafford is clearly the cream of the crop followed closely by Sanchez. Freeman, who is also hot right now (for some reason), is clearly not in the same class as the other two. Plus, in 2006, Young wasn't taken until the 3rd pick, making it easier for the others to fall than this year (where Stafford will most likely be taken 1st overall). I think Sanchez is taken before we pick, easily. The only way it would work out for us is if the Lions passed on Stafford. Then, maybe.
  8. Aaron Curry Perhaps you should be a bit more specific though.
  9. I know that there's a good majority of people here who are sick of Cutler posts. But for those who are interested in the THOUGHT of getting him; how do you see Buffalo getting him and still filling all the other holes on our team? According to the NY Daily News, the Jets spent Wednesday formulating plans on how to acquire him. I'm interested in seeing what TSW would come up with. I'll start: - Trade Jason Peters to the Eagles for 2009 1st (Pick 21) It's getting downright ridiculous with Peters and i'd rather trade him away than pay what he wants. After everything we've done for the guy, I feel like he's done irrepairable damage when it comes to his character and this team. Even if we weren't to trade him, I still feel like LT is a hole on this team because he's going to sit out if we don't give him what he wants. - Trade Trent Edwards, 2009 1st (#21 from Eagles), and 2010 1st for Jay Cutler A little steep, I know. But that's what it's going to take. With Cutler, there's no need for Edwards. After the trade for Peters, we'd have an extra 1st this year. So in the end, the only thing that would really hurt is giving up next years 1st. - Take what's left of the 4 stud OT's (J. Smith/Monroe/Oehr/A. Smith) at #11 I feel all four have the potential to be stud OT's in this league for a very long time. Obviously Smith and Monroe will be gone by 11. But one of the four should still be there. Depending on how they look in camp will determie what side of the line they'll play on. - Take the best available DE in the 2nd Orakpo, Brown, Maybin, Ayers, and Jackson should all go in Round 1. Larry English, Michael Johnson, and Lawrence Sidbury Jr. would all be a solid pick and provide more pass rush alongside the returning Schobel. One of them should be there for us in Round 2. - Take the best available TE in the 3rd This is a VERY deep draft for TE's. That's why I pull my hair out when people mock us with Pettigrew at 11. Especially since the need for a stud TE has greatly diminished with the Owens signing. Pettigrew, Cook, and Nelson will all be gone by the end of Round 2. But Cornelius Ingram, Chase Coffman, Travis Beckum, and James Casey all have star potential. One of them will be there and would be an upgrade over anything we have now. - Sign either Cato June, Marcus Washington, or Freddy Kaiho to replace Crowell Not much needs to be said here. -Promote Kirk Chambers to Starting LG I have faith in Chambers there. He held down LT sufficiently enough last year to give me faith that he can handle the Guard position. Thoughts? Your Turn
  10. http://www.draftcountdown.com/scoutingrepo...rius-Butler.php He's Willis McGahee's cousin!
  11. Everette Brown in the 1st and Jared Cook in the 2nd = love
  12. There's no way we'll be wearing white throwbacks. I'm pretty sure each team has one home, one away, and one throwback jersey available to use. Not to mention, a white throwback was not part of the marketing campaign that's been rocking for the past four years or so. If a white jersey were an option, trust me, Buffalo would be selling white jerseys to the public.
  13. ...... and i'm sure he's far from the only one at this point. This isn't even news worthy, in my opinion. He wasn't high on showing up for offseason workouts in Phili and Dallas either.
  14. The list is in no order of importance. I have no problem with everyone getting excited about the Cutler possibility (as minimal as it is). But why aren't we getting ANYTHING done? Hell, we haven't even had a visit since T.O.
  15. According to Dick Jauron's presser and us bringing in Fred Taylor, Kevin Jones, and DeShaun Foster.
  16. Maybe i'm just not all that patient. But I just don't understand the hold up. The way I see it, we need the following things: Backup RB Starting LG Starting TE Either a Starting DE or DT Starting OLB Starting SS Now, we'll obviously fill the RB spot with a veteran and there's still some decent ones out there. As is Warrick Dunn, Deuce McCallister, and Ahman Green. Also, we brought in DeShaun Foster and he's still available. Our LG position is interesting. Perhaps we already filled the need with Hangartner. If that's the case, then we need a Center. Either way, Kendall Simmons is still out there. As is Mike Goff, who is far and away the best OG on the market, in my opinion. Our starting TE will most likely have to be drafted. There is no one out there that would be an upgrade over what we have (one could argue L.J. Smith, maybe). My favorite is Jared Cook, but I doubt he'll be there when we pick in Round 2. The draft is deep enough at TE that we could possibly grab one in the 3rd that could be our starter for the foreseeable future. The only option we really have at TE outside of drafting one would be a trade for Tony Scheffler. I think it's become painfully obvious that our 1st pick will be used to take a pass rusher. So no need to worry there. The OLB need is what really pisses me off. There's a handful of good ones available and we aren't doing anything. In my opinion, Freddy Kaiho, Cato June, and Marcus Washington are all better prospects than Crowell. Are we waiting on his decision? Why haven't we made a play at any of them? The Safety situation also makes me rip my hair out. Bryan Scott/Ko "Worth Millions" Simpson don't cut it alongside Whitner, and one could argue that even Whitner is simply average. Yet we sat and watched Jermaine Phillips, Sean Jones, Brian Dawkins, and Gibril Wilson all get swooped up! Basically, what i'm saying, is what the hell are we waiting for? There's still quality players out there at positions of need. We have money. What the fudge is the holdup?!
  17. I wouldn't call Roscoe Parrish the backbone of our ST's. He's a good returner. But with his minimal production in our recieving game, T.O.'s addition, and McKelvin getting better and better at returning; Parrish is an expendable luxury for us. As for 2010 being stacked with quality QB's, i'd say Bradford is the only real "can't miss" type. We'd need #1 to get him. Plus, i'd take Cutler over any rookie experiment any day. P.S. I changed my OT idea a bit.
  18. 1.) Sign Angelo Crowell, Freddy Kaiho, Cato June, or Marcus Washington for OLB 2.) Sign Mike Goff for OLG 3.) Sign Kevin Shaffer for ORT and move Langston Walker to OLT. Train the crap out of DeMetrius Bell 4.) Trade Jason Peters to Eagles for a 1st (#21) and a 3rd. 5.) Trade Trent Edwards, Roscoe Parrish, 2009 2nd, 2009 3rd (from Eagles), & 2010 1st for Jay Cutler and Tony Scheffler 6.) Take Malcolm Jenkins at #11 (move to FS), take DE/DT at #21 (Whomever's left Orakpo/Brown/Maybin/Jackson/Ayers/Johnson/Jerry)
  19. a.) I doubt that it would have been Cutler for Cassell straight up. b.) Cassell was coveted by McDaniel because of their history together. Cassell's skill + Their working relationship > Trent Edwards skill. c.) It's just downright laughably ridiculous.
  20. He's like Homer Simpson. You can feed him all day long and he'll still have room for more. Although, I must say, i'm more disturbed by the fact that Broncos fans seem to think Trent Edwards is a worthless bum.
  21. We can't because as of this moment we need the following things: Starting TE Starting OLG Starting OLB Starting DE or DT (a replacement to either Kyle or Kelsay, for pass-rush) Starting SS (IMO Scott/Simpson don't cut it next to Whitner) - Starting OLT (Only if Jason Peters is going to be a problem and is traded) As far as a Safety, TE, or DE/DT goes; the free agent market is slim to none. We need to replace those positions with draft picks. Basically, we have a LOT of holes on this team. As sweet as having Cutler would be, QB isn't a need.
  22. I would be in favor of a deal that would send Edwards to Denver and Cutler to Buffalo. But the preceding thought is a little out there and places you and I in the minority. So expect to be flamed hard in reply to your post. This scenario has us giving up a 1st Round pick for two things that aren't needs. Granted, we do need a TE. But with us signing T.O., the need has diminished quite a bit. On top of that fact, this is a really deep draft for TE's. We could grab one in the 2nd or 3rd that would work out just fine. As much as the thought of Cutler throwing deep balls to Evans and T.O. makes me salivate, we can't give up our 1st.
  23. Looking at this post and the lot of your previous work, I think I can speak for a good portion of us when I say..... Get bent.
  24. I take it you're listing players who you think may be available at 11 and not top overall right? Obviously, Aaron Curry would have to be #1 otherwise. That being said: 1.) B.J. Raiji 2.) Brian Orakpo 3.) Everette Brown 4.) Malcom Jenkins - Is being projected as a S now and would be killer alongside Whitner 5.) Rey Maualuga - Move Poz to OLB and stick Rey in the middle. Wow! I think Peria Jerry would be a HUGE reach at 11 and certainly should not be placed above Everette Brown, in my opinion.
