  1. If Losman isn't the answer, then Brady Quinn would be the guy i'd want Buffalo to go after. He plays in a very pro style offense under Charlie Weiss. He seems NFL ready and is no stranger to high profile football. Plus, he seems to be a real leader and has all the attributes of a QB that you can't teach. Arguably, that's Losman's main problem. Another interesting prospect would be to try and either outbid or deal with Atlanta for Matt Schaub. He's been called the best backup in football. He's a guy who has shown TREMENDOUS ability when called upon. He's also the same age as Losman and has been grooming for years now. But I really hope that Losman pulls it together. It wouldn't get any easier than that. But my gut tells me it's not going to happen.
  2. ^ Exactly. The Bills owe it to Losman and themselves to let him play out the season. But at the end of this season, you have to evaluate how he played his entire Bills career and whether or not you think he can improve. Either way, I feel at the end of this season the team has to decide whether Losman is the answer or not. We're not winning folks. Plain and simple. Yes, you can argue the line. But a good QB finds ways to score and win. Losman isn't doing that and he's getting worse. As a result, so are the Bills. Last year he was pretty much a bad QB. This year, he started out serviceable; but has gotten progressively worse. I think next year will be the REAL rebuilding year. Whether J.P. is at the helm or not we'll have to wait and see. But as of now he's not and to argue that he should be kept on for the simple reason that you don't want to start over with a new QB is retarded. If it's not J.P. we're going to have to start over sooner or later. Why delay the process?
  3. Yeah, a heavily invested player who had a half a season last year and a full one this year. There comes a point where you have to cut your losses. Do we want to look like the Lions who held on to Joey Harrington for too long? Listen, i'm not saying that we should demote or cut him now. If he can pull it out and show something in the last half of the season that would be great! But he's not showing me anything lately besides the fact that he's a walking turnover and someone who can't win games for us. You can't win in the NFL without a good QB. Losman is proving he's not the guy. So to answer your question, yes. I would rather go with another rookie who could be the guy then stick with one who just plain isn't and hoping for the best. This is a "win now" league and in case you haven't noticed, we're not winning! We're actually getting worse. Please go somewhere else with your apologist attitude. You're trying to convince a lot of people and the fact that you can't really do it and that you're pretty alone in this should tell you something.
  4. So what do you suggest then? We continue to ride it out with Losman and hope that he gets better? I don't think it's going to happen. Like it or not, we need a new QB. It'll take time but we have no choice.
  5. He will be here next year because he has a contract. ..... after next year is a whole 'nother story entirely.
  6. J.P. Losman should NOT be cut or demoted..... until the end of the season. We need to give the guy the entire season like we said we would. Otherwise we're no better off than we were when Mularkey was playing musical QB's. Even if it means we lose every game from here on out. If you pull him now, he's done. That's it. We'd be washing our hands of him. I don't know that we should do that in the middle of a season. Let's ride this one out like we said we would. ....... then draft Brady Quinn
  7. Who says we'd have a top 10 pick? It's too early to say something like that. And honestly, I have a feeling that Peters will be moved to LT and Brad Butler will take over RT. Thus, we'd need just a Guard.
  8. 1st round? Where do you see that? He'll be a Day 1 pick for sure and probably a 2nd rounder. But I think it's more plausible to see him go in the 3rd than it is the 1st.
  9. Yeppers. Eric Moulds for Kyle Williams to be exact.
  10. I agree, Reed has earned himself a place on our roster. He's one of the best blocking WR's in the league and has proven himself a viable option in the clutch. Is he starter? No. But he's a good option at 3 or 4. However, someone needs to be brought in to better compliment Evans. When I look at Price, Parrish, and Reed I see three guys who are #3's on most rosters. We don't have another starting WR yet.
  11. I think there are other CB's just as good that will come cheaper. The past couple season's have proven that Clements is highly overrated and overpaid. Now if he happens to get out of this funk and prove he's worth the money at the end of the season then fine. But as it stands right now he should definitely take a hike. He may be getting up there and age, but he's still one of the top tacklers we have (at this point, one of the few). While it wouldn't be wise to sign him long-term or spend a lot of money on him, it would be stupid to not try and bring him back. Are you joking? He's perhaps our #1 ST's player! 'has been for the past couple seasons. What more would you expect from a WR whose 6th on the depth chart? No. Plain and simple. Unless he's willing to play for league minimum and can prove that he can play inside and doesn't mind being a backup if neccessary. No.
  12. Problems with this post: 1.) Joe Staley is NOT a 1st round pick. While we probably won't be picking high enough to pick Joe Thomas, Levi Brown and Sam Baker are much better than Staley. One (or both) will be there when we pick. 2.) We won't sign Dwight Freeney. Honestly, i'd be shocked if Indy let him get away. Even if they did, we wouldn't shell out the type of money it would cost when we have Schobel and Hargrove and problems much worse than DE. 3.) Brian Leonard is not the type of FB we need on this team. He's a "playmaking" FB, not a great blocker. 4.) We aren't doing anything to the DT position?! 5.) We aren't doing anything to do the TE position?! 6.) Same WR's?! I do like the Floyd Womack signing though.
  13. Who do you think will be gone? I don't know the entire list of our FA's after this season. But I know the following: Mike Gandy (Gone) Chris Kelsay (Gone, Hargrove trade is insurance and Bills won't pay big for him) Nate Clements (Gone) London Fletcher (Should stay for a season or two, but bank shouldn't be broken) Rian Lindell (Dear god resign him! Reliable kicker's are hard to come by. Ask Parcells) Other than them, I believe Chris Villarial will retire. Daimon Shelton and Tim Anderson will be among other "big names" cut. Then there's the WR/TE's. God knows what's going on there. The only people who are safe in my opinion are Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish, Sam Aiken, and Andre' Davis (the latter two for their ST's play). Price and Reed are both not cutting it in my opinion and I believe another WR will be brought in next season to better compliment Evans. I'd bet at best only one of the two will be kept (most likely Reed for his blocking ability). Royal will most likely stay and Everett might stay on. But if Royal isn't #2, there will be another TE who will be playing almost as much. I think a REAL TE should be brought in. So to review, we'll need the following: Starting LT and RG - If I had to guess, i'd say that Jason Peters will be moved to LT and Brad Butler will take over RT. My hope is that Buffalo can sign UFA Floyd "Pork Chop" Womack to play RG. Starting WR - With Evans quickly becoming a smart veteran WR, I don't know that it's neccessary to sign a veteran to step in. But there's no denying that extra firepower is neccessary. I'd expect a Day 1 pick to be placed between Evans and Parrish. TE - Two FA's. Daniel Graham, Eric Johnson. Sign one. Dammit! Starting FB - Generally, getting a solid blocking FB doesn't break the bank. But if there's a stud in the later rounds of the draft, that could be the way to go as well. Starting CB - The past couple weeks have made me question whether or not McGee is ready to take over the #1 spot. Due to unfortunate family circumstances, Youboty won't be ready to be anything better than the #2. I think with an inexperienced almost rookie in Youboty and McGee being thrusted into unfamiliar territory as well, it wouldn't be wise to draft a CB to throw into the mix. Asante Samuel would be an ideal FA to throw into the mix in my opinion. DT - I'm not sure what to do here. After drafting two DT's this year and signing Tripplett, it's a tough pill to swallow that we still need help at DT. With Williams and McCargo being young, i'd say go for a veteran in FA. Unfortunately, as far as I can see there really isn't anyone on the market i'd consider an upgrade. Perhaps there will be a stud DT come draft time that will change my mind. Thoughts?
  14. 1.) O-Lineman need to block better so TE's don't have to pick up the slack. 2.) Robert Royal needs to prove he can catch the ball.
  15. It'll be Schobel, Hargrove, Denney, and Powell next year. According to Chris Brown's blog, Kelsay is a FA after this season. I don't think we'll be looking to spend much on retaining his services. Which is another reason Buffalo pulled the trigger on a deal with the Rams.
  16. No Adrian Peterson or Marshawn Lynch? You have to assume one or both will come out.
  17. I'd be happy with this trade: Nate Clements and Tim Anderson for Brian Kelly and Booger McFarland
  18. If we continue playing this way our 1st pick should be: Joe Thomas, OT Wisconsin Other considerations could be: Quentin Moses, DE Georgia Paul Posluszny, LB Penn State Unless someone decides we need offensive firepower. In which case it will be one of the following: Adrian Peterson, RB Oklahoma Marshawn Lynch, RB California Calvin Johnson, WR Georgia Tech Ted Ginn Jr., WR Ohio State I highly doubt you'll see Buffalo draft a DT with their first pick after picking McCargo in the 1st, Williams in the 5th, and signing Larry Tripplett last season. I could see Buffalo trading for Mcfarland today or tommorrow or signing a veteran DT this offseason. But getting another young DT in here is not the way to go. As for DB being the first pick, I doubt that as well. We spent a top-10 pick on Whitner, drafted Simpson in the 4th, and youboty in the 3rd. Not to mention, McGee isn't very old himself. We'll need a veteran in here to replace Nate and help McGee and Youboty.
  19. In the article for Hargrove on bb.com, they mention that Josh Stamer was put on IR to make room for him. Josh sprained his knee in the Lions game. Is it me or is Buffalo getting IR happy and placing guys on it who could probably be back by the end of the season? Why keep Powell around?
  20. Actually I lied, there's no glass half full that can be pulled out of this one. So let me just hit on some things that have been bothering me: Schopp and Bulldog are f-cking retarded! McGahee and Losman didn't have a great game (they may not have had a good one either). But to pinpoint them in the loss is ridiculous in my opinion. I can name so many bigger problems with this team and the loss. 1.) The Offensive Line - Wow. I just don't know what to say. Mike Gandy would have been more useful this game if he did, well, ANYTHING else! I kept thinking back to that Cinci game we unexplicibly one last season that dropped us from #3 to #8 in the draft order. D'Brickashaw Ferguson is like a wet dream at this point. 2.) The Run D - ..... or lackthereof. You know what's not a good sign? When you focus practically your entire offseason brining in defensive minded coaches, signing mostly defensive players, and practically drafting only defensive players and your defense still sucks! I REALLY hope that this game can be tabbed up to rust or not being at 100% for Takeo. If it wasn't, we're screwed. Plain and simple. 3.) Our WR's and TE's - Save Lee Evans and maybe Roscoe Parrish (who shows potential but just hasn't reached consistency yet). Price and Reed make plays here and there. But more often then not, they just can't get open for Losman. Ever wonder why Losman holds on to the ball like Drew Bledsoe sometimes? It's because our receiving core is pretty inept underneath Evans. The one good drive they had when Neufeld scored the TD, I said to my friend "this would be a good time to throw to a TE if we had one". Who came down with it? Not Royal. Not Everett. But Ryan freaking Neufeld! God, I miss Pete Metzalaars (?!). 4.) The Coaching Staff - What the hell is wrong with these guys?! Weeks 1 and 2 they looked like actual coaches. But ever since the fake field goal attempt against the Jets, they've just looked like retarded monkeys. How long did it take for them to realize that one on one against Roy Williams wasn't working?! Christ, everyone knew the ball was going to him and I can't remember a single play when he wasn't one on one. I was screaming at the television like a maniac. Pass D, i'm stoked that you shut down Joe Schmo and Something Furrey (seriously, was that guy's name Furrey?). But maybe you guys should have let up on them a little bit and worked Williams. And how deep were our Safety's?! Marv and Ralph better be ready to spend some money in the offseason. Because their "Patriots" plan of signing young unknowns just isn't working. We don't have the veteran structure of the staff to pull it off. We need to spend some money to fix the lines. But also: We need some offensive playmakers! It's great having Lee Evans. But he can't do it alone. I know everyone has been anti "sexy" since TD. But it's time we go for the sexy once more with a big time FA or Draft Pick. The offense just doesn't have the firepower that Losman needs. Whether that means we say goodbye to McGahee and go after Adrian Peterson (who still seems like he'll come out even though he did just get injured for the rest of the season) Marshawn Lynch, or a WR like Ted Ginn Jr., there's no denying the offense needs help. The Line's need veteran studs. We can't afford to try and put rookies on them next season. In my opinion, if we can't beat the Lions the only thing this year is good for is to see whose good enough to stay on next year when the REAL rebuilding begins. YAY
  21. No dude, this would be the PERFECT week for him to come back. You don't want to just throw him in there with the Bears (last week) or the Patriots (next week). Let him start off against a Lions team that may be without both Kevin Jones AND Roy Williams.
  22. Um..... how about (with the exception of Evans) average WR's who can't get open against an incredible defense? But yeah, you're right; Losman sucks
  23. I wanna know how the guy was a gametime decision as early as a couple weeks ago and now he may not play for ANOTHER 2-3 weeks. Great comeback Takeo
  24. I highly doubt Asante Samuel will be someone that will come cheap. I'm sure there will be quite a few teams interested in his services.
