  1. So if we addressed the OL in FA and then lost Eric Moulds, you'd want us to keep getting lineman?
  2. If we were to address the O-Line heavily in FA (I.E. Backus and Bentley), how could this draft be horrible? I see where you're getting at. But if we sign O-Lineman; Haloti Ngata, Sinorcie Moss, and Dominique Byrd is a DAMN good draft.
  3. I LOVE this draft..... But only if we sign a LOT of big time O-Lineman in FA. I absolutely love the idea of having Sinorce Moss and Dominique Byrd on this team. But that's a pipe dream after both of their Senior Bowl performances. Moss will be picked in Round 1 and Byrd in Round 2. People can laugh all they want about Moss and his size. But I don't care how tall our WR's are. If they can burn and catch the ball, they can all be 3 feet tall for all I care. Moss is the real deal. He looks amazing! I don't see Carolina complaining about having "tiny WR's" Steve Smith and Keary Colbert on the same team.
  4. ....... and that's where I lost my desire to debate with you.
  5. Oh I agree with you..... to an extent. If Nate can be brought back, by all means we bring him back! But Nate has said that he wants to be paid like Champ Bailey. He wants to be the highest paid CB in the league. He doesn't deserve it, but he thinks he does. We'll offer him a deal for what he's worth and he'll reject it. Then we'll franchise him and he'll get pissed. It's going to get messy because he won't want to sign the franchise offer sheet of 5.98 million. Someone will overpay him and it won't be us. That's why we make a deal. I would MUCH rather have Nate Clements than a late-1st. But to think that we can just tag him and that will be that is naive.
  6. The San Francisco 49ers select...... Anthony Fasano, TE Notre Dame
  7. Studs like Mike Williams? Or Leonard Davis? Or maybe studs like Tim Couch? Just because they're top-10 picks doesn't guarantee they're studs. Don't get me wrong, if D'Brickasahw Ferguson is there; you take him. If Mario Williams is there, you take him. Hell, if Reggie Bush, Vince Young, or Matt Leinart is there; you take him. But if it's Haloti Ngata or Marcus McNeil/Max-Jean Gilles AND Gabe Watson, you gotta make the trade.
  8. I really think Nate Clements will be tagged and traded for a late-1st. I see no reason why that is ridiculous. If you can't get a late-1st for a top flight CB (top of the FA market) who can you get one for? I think Nate Clements is worth more than Peerless Price or an old, damaged Edgerrin James. RB's are a dime a dozen these days, but a good CB is hard to come by. I think Buffalo will tag him and that's when it's going to get messy. Nate wants more than what that tag will get him. He'll want out and there's a number of team's low in Round 1 that would want him (I.E. Jax and NYG). Interestingly enough, i've read a lot of rumors (yes, I know; they're just rumors) that say Denver is looking for a young QB. Jake Plummer is the same age as E-Moulds and his performance in the AFC championship game was upsetting to say the least. Jay Cutler would be their guy. But to do it, they'll have to jump ahead of Detroit at 9. Denver has the 22nd pick overall (from Washington) and the 29th pick overall. According to the NFL Draft Value Chart, those two picks combined share the same amount of points as the 8th overall pick! So if we're looking to trade down, I think this is the IDEAL situation. At where we are, we can hope for D'Brickashaw Ferguson at OL and Mario Williams or Haloti Ngata at DL. Anyone besides those three would be a reach at 8. But in the late-1st, you can justifiably (sp?) draft guys like: Marcus McNeil, OT Auburn Jonathan Scott, OT Texas Max-Jean Gilles, OG Georgia Gabe Watson, DT Michigan Brodrick Bunkley, DT Florida State Mathias Kiwanuka, DE Boston College Antonio Cromartie, CB Florida State Tye Hill, CB Clemson Marcedes Lewis, TE UCLA Dominique Byrd, TE USC Chad Jackson, WR Florida I'd rather have two guys in the late-1st then one guy like Haloti Ngata at 8. What do you guys think?
  9. Well, in his radio interview with Rome (I believe?), he stated he's not coming back to New Orleans and an ideal place for him to go is Cleveland because that's his hometown. So coming from New Orleans and thinking about Cleveland; I don't think he'll have a problem coming here.
  10. I agree. Quite frankly i'm pretty sick and tired of everybody saying he's washed up and needs to be thrown off to the side. I saw him make quite a few plays last season. There were a couple games where I thought, "Man, Troy Vincent is all over the field!". Of course he got burned a bunch. Everyone in our secondary did. That's what happens when you can't rush the passer and he has all day to pick his spots.
  11. Is it just me or does J.P. seem kinda geeky? Like he's the california boy whose trying too hard (I.E. Malibu's Most Wanted with the volume turned down).
  12. Wow! Eric Winston at 8?! Maybe 8th pick in the 2nd round.
  13. The New York Giants select..... Claude Wroten, DT LSU I know about the arrest, but he's too good to pass on close to the 3rd.
  14. So lemme get this straight..... In Round 1, San Diego trades the #1 RB in the NFL, LaDanian Tomlinson; for Reggie Bush who hasn't played a down in the NFL at RB. Then in Round 2, San Diego takes RB Maurice Drew?!
  15. I'm sorry I missed my pick I was at the doctor's office for a long ass time today. I can't complain with Tye Hill though.
  16. Well most mocks have Oakland standing put at 6 and selecting Mario Williams. I had them move up and select Vince Young at QB. It only made sense to select Lawson if he's sitting there.
  17. With the 2nd pick in the 2nd round, the Oakland Raiders select..... Manny Lawson, DE N.C. State
  18. I already made the pick, 2003. Look a few threads up.
  19. The New York Giants select..... Antonio Cromartie, CB Florida State Giants need a CB and with Williams off the board; Tye Hill, Ashton Youboty, and Antonio Cromartie are the best available. Hill and Youboty are good, but Cromartie would have been a top 5-10 pick and the best CB available if he hadn't hurt his knee and came out early. I predict a monster combine from him for coming out.
  20. I might respect you're argument if you didn't have us taking Eric Winston at 8
  21. And I like that one too! Honestly, I hope the Bills trade down and take him this year if Ferguson, Williams, and Ngata aren't there.
  22. Ooh! Might be a little bit of a reach, but I like it!
  23. Honestly, Winston Justice isn't my first choice. I don't like the idea of Buffalo taking him and i'd be upset if they did. The only reason I listed him is because he's the #2 OT in the draft on most boards. If Buffalo decided they MUST take an OT with their 1st pick and they can't trade down, he'd be the guy.
  24. 2003, I have to disagree with your grades. Mathias Kiwanuka at 17 to the Vikings doesn't deserve a D. He had a poor Senior Bowl showing, but if Williams and Hali are gone and the Vikings want another DE, Kiwanuka is the pick. Before his "regression" he was touted as a top-10 pick. Orien Harris at 19 gets a B?! I have yet to see a SINGLE mock that has Orien Harris in round 1. He's below Ngata, Bunkley, Watson, Wroten, and Wright on most boards i've seen. Lendale White is a little bit of a reach at 7, but not a whole lot. Not deserving a C. Especially if DeAngelo Williams is picked at 4. San Fran needs a back and at that point White is the best you can get. He's projected anywhere from pick 5 to GB to pick 20. And Charlie Whitehurst gets a D?!..... Actually, you're right; that was a terrible pick.
