  1. The dude is capable of playing better. We've all seen it. When he's not injured and he has some people around him worth a damn, he can give the QB time. The problem lies in getting him to play to his ability.
  2. I'm getting tired of all the "Fire Mularkey", "Fire TD" posts. I agree with all of them, but let's talk about something else. I could give a damn what happens the rest of the season. As long as no one else gets hurt, i'm looking to next year. Below is what I would do to rebuild the Bills if I was in a position of authority. Feel free to criticize and/or do the same. Who stays and who goes (FA): Angelo Crowell - STAY Josh Stamer - STAY Justin Bannan - GO Kevin Thomas - GO Mario Haggan - STAY Mike Schnek - STAY Nate Clements - GO Ron Edwards - GO Ryan Denney - STAY Sam Aiken - STAY Shane Matthews - GO Trey Teague - GO Josh Reed - GO Joe Burns - GO Other cuts: Bennie Anderson Ben Sobieski Lawrence Smith Ryan Neufeld Jeff Posey Eric Moulds - Franchise and trade Nate Clements for a 2nd round pick. He may be worthy of a late 1st, but I don't see us getting it. Nor do I see us resigning him. - Release Moulds because his contract is WAY too high. If he wants to take a substantial cut and Mularkey's not around, keep him. But the odds of that happening are not very good. - Controversially keep Mike Williams. He had a strong showing last season after a questionable camp. Unfortunately, he's caught the injury bug this year and the line has been in shambles. Everyone wants to give up on him, but I think he should stay and spend the offseason to get him accustomed to LG. Of course, he'll need to take a pay cut. - Controversially keep Sam Adams. Just like Williams, he's caught the injury bug and has had problems with Mularkey. If Mularkey stays, he'll need to get things fixed with Sam. Ron Edwards and Justin Bannan aren't doing the job. Sam's disruptive as an anchor. But he can't do it alone. Draft Picks: 1.) 2.) 2.) (From Clements trade) 3.) 3.) (From Henry trade) 3.) (Supplemental from Pat Williams) 4.) 4.) (Supplemental from Jonas Jennings) 5.) 6.) 7.) - I envision the Bills winning one more game this year. Putting them at 5-11 and probably around pick 8. Supplemental picks are just a realistic guess. - Area's of need: OT, DT, CB Day 1 Mock: 1.) Jimmy Williams, CB Virginia Tech 1.) Gabe Watson, DT Michigan * 2.) Winston Justice, OT USC 3.) Charles Spencer, OG Colorado 3.) Martin Nance, WR Miami (OH) - Bills trade a #2, a #3, and a #3 in 2006 (or maybe a #4) to get into the 15-25 mark to snab a DT. - Jimmy Williams will hopefully still be available with our inevitably high 1st. He is the stud CB of this year's draft and could come in and make an immediate impact alongside Terrence McGee. He played alongside and replaced DeAngelo Hall and has been almost a mirror image of Hall at VT. - There isn't a DT worth taking in the top 10. Although there are a handful worth taking in the 15-25 range. Haloti Ngata and Roderique Wright should go first. Gabe Watson should be available to trade up to reasonably. Free Agents: - Tra Thomas is expected to be released by the Eagles after this season. Their relationship has become quite strained and he's looking to go elsewhere. I believe our OL problems should mostly be handled in house and in FA with minimal help from the draft (mostly looking to the future and for projects). - Charles Rogers will be cut by the Detroit Lions. He was the #2 overall pick in the 2003 draft for a reason. He could very well be someone who just can't pull it off on the next level. But he could also be someone who just needs a change of scenery. With Evans and Parrish (and drafting Nance); it wouldn't be that big of a gamble. If he can keep his head on straight, he would make an interesting option at #2 or 3. Especially since he can play more physically than our other WR's. 2006 Buffalo Bills Roster: QB: J.P. Losman Kelly Holcomb Brodie Croyle (drafted on day two) RB: Willis McGahee Lionel Gates Shaud Williams - Daimon Shelton Joe Burns WR: Lee Evans Charles Rogers Roscoe Parrish Martin Nance Sam Aiken Jonathan Smith TE: Kevin Everett Mark Campbell Tim Euhus OL: Tra Thomas (LT) Mike Williams (LG) "Duke" Preston © Chris Villarial (RG) Jason Peters (RT) - Winston Justice Charles Spencer Mike Gandy Greg Jerman Marques Ogden DE: Aaron Schobel Chris Kelsay Ryan Denney (Day 2 Pick) DT: Sam Adams Gabe Watson Tim Anderson Jason Jefferson Lauvale Sape LB: Takeo Spikes London Fletcher Angelo Crowell Mario Haggan Josh Stamer (Day 2 Pick) CB: Jimmy Williams Terrence McGee Eric King Jabari Greer S: Lawyer Milloy Troy Vincent Rashad Baker Coy Wire ST: Rian Lindell Brian Moorman Mike Schneck So that's what i'd shoot for. Of course a new coach and comittment to the run would be in check as well
  3. If there's any hint of the same gene's in Marques, he'll be an interesting prospect on the practice squad. http://www.buffalobills.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=122638
  4. Tra Thomas may become available after this season. His relationship with Phili is getting more and more strained.
  5. In my league (of 10 teams) you can start only 5 players between your RB's and WR's. My WR's are: Larry Fitzgerald Keyshawn Johnson Joe Jurevicius Brandon Lloyd Michael Clayton Greg Lewis (picked up only b/c I had T.O.) But my RB's are: Willis McGahee Clinton Portis Rudi Johnson Reuben Droughns Samkon Gado Ricky Williams Next week i'm definitely going to start Fitzgerald, Portis, and McGahee. My question is; which two of the following 3 should I start? Rudi Johnson - coming off a bye, but going against Indy's D Samkon Gado - at home against Minnesota, coming off of a 3-TD, 125 yd game Reuben Droughns - hasn't scored a TD all year, but consistently puts up at least 100 yds between running and catching in every game. Then again, Droughns could get injured tonight and I won't need any help lol
  6. I don't see the Vikings drafting Leinart. Besides, with the way we're playing the only team Leinart will be playing for is Buffalo.
  7. The only thing is, we don't know who. They'll announce it later. It probably won't be anyone worth a damn, but I thought it was interesting. http://www.buffalobills.com/blog/?topic_id=13 I really wanted us to trade for disgruntled Grady Jackson
  8. Looks like Detriot will have to draft another WR with their 1st pick.
  9. I personally think that if Losman tanks this season and we get the 1st pick, we HAVE to take Leinart. I'm interested on everyone else's belief after 4 weeks.
  10. ...... then trade J.P. for a bag of Fritos and pick the prodigal son, errr..... Matt Leinart. In all seriousness though, i'm really worried. J.P. is not at ALL ready. For all the people who said "Cut Drew, it can't get worse"; have you seen the past two games. Now with Spikes down, WE'RE DOOMED!!!!!!
  11. I just visited bb.com's roster page and what I saw shocked me. Kevin Everett is listed on the practice squad. Last time I checked, ANY team can sign a practice squad player from another team by simply placing them on their active roster. If this is legit, then anyone can sign Kevin Everett. Anybody know what's up? http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster.jsp?order_by=num
  12. I, like probably a million other SW'ers; have a #11 Bills Bledsoe jersey. I know that people on this board were talking about getting the Bledsoe nameplate replaced with Parrish. Did anyone find a place that does that? If so, what's it called and where is it? I live in Rochester so if a phone number or website could be provided; it would be greatly appreciated!
  13. Yeah, he had a bad game last night. But it was just one game. I'd give him until season's end before I make a judgement.
  14. I think it was yesterday or Monday night. ESPN did a piece on Miami's WR/CB/Returner Devin Hester. I don't know if they compared him to Deion or if they said that he was Deion's protege or what. But he plays like Deion (minus the tacking problem) and even mimics his celebrations. Anyways, did anyone catch it? This guy is an AMAZING prospect! He's a star Returner (even though he muffed one last night) and also made the transition from WR to CB well enough that he's a starter. We all know how TD is about Miami players. I'll be keeping my eye on him this season. He's a Junior, but he may come out for next year's draft. If he keeps it up, I could see TD taking him in Round 1 if Nate goes....
  15. How would you guys feel if TD shocked us by placing Maurice Clarett on the practice squad? Let me preface this by stating that i'm not saying this is something I REALLY want. It was just a thought I had when I was reading some old NFL articles. I noticed that TD said a lot about Maurice in the different combines he was supposed to be involved in. To me, TD sounded pissed off in '04 when he couldn't see him and was praising him BEFORE the combine of '05. I think it would be an interesting project. The guy has a history. But I don't think he was given a fair shot in Denver. He got hurt and then he was cut. If he starts to show signs of his past discourses, cut him. It's a PS spot with a minimum salary. It's not like he'd disrupt anything in that position. Plus, if he showed an ounce of the promise he showed in college he'd make an intriguing prospect at FB when Shelton and/or Burns goes. Just a thought and an opinion. Now i'll just prepare for all the "I've heard of him!" and "NOOOOOOO!!!!" replies.
  16. Not to beat a dead horse but you heard wrong. There are news reports from credible sources stating he has made the team. As well as the fact that you posted it at 5:04 and espn.com (your network source) has nothing on your claim, but they do have a Peerless Price post from 6:10.
  17. QB: J.P. Losman Kelly Holcomb Shane Matthews RB: Willis McGahee Shaud Williams Lionel Gates - Daimon Shelton Joe Burns WR: Eric Moulds Lee Evans (Roscoe Parrish) Josh Reed Sam Aiken Jonathan Smith George Wilson TE: Mark Campbell Tim Euhus Ryan Neufeld OL: Mike Gandy (LT) Bennie Anderson (LG) Trey Teague © Chris Villarial (RG) Mike Williams (RT) - Raymond Preston © Jason Peters (OT) Greg Jerman (OG) Justin Geisinger (OT) DE: Aaron Schobel Chris Kelsay Ryan Denney DT: Sam Adams Ron Edwards Tim Anderson Justin Bannan Lauvale Sape LB: Takeo Spikes London Fletcher Jeff Posey Angelo Crowell Mario Haggan Josh Stamer CB: Nate Clements Terrence McGee Jabari Greer Eric King S: Lawyer Milloy Troy Vincent Coy Wire Rashad Baker Jim Leonhard ST: Brian Moorman (P) Rian Lindell (K) Jon Dorenbas (LS) PUP: Kevin Thomas Kevin Everett Injured Reserve: Lawrence Smith Ben Sobieski I don't understand why we kept 7 WR's on our roster. We usually keep 5 (6 if we have a specialist, I.E. Antonio Brown). I figured we would keep 6 with Roscoe's injury. But 7?! And keeping 5 Safeties isn't necessary in my opinion either. I'm a little worried about depth. We only have 3 DE's and 4 CB's. Plus, only 9 OL and only two of the backups are worth a damn. I hope we pick some guys up. A DE and a new kicker would be nice
  18. You heard wrong. Go to espn.com for ESPN news. As soon as it hits, it's on the site. There's nothing there.
  19. Dude, where the hell are you getting your news from? Absolutely nowhere does it say Rice was cut. Neither nfl.com or denverbroncos.com have anything yet. But this is the official cut list and as you'll see, Rice isn't on it. As a matter of fact, it states: "All three wide receivers thought to be on the bubble, Jerry Rice, Todd Devoe and Charlie Adams, all made the team." http://cbs4denver.com/topstories/local_story_246163644.html kffl.com has the cuts as well and there is no Rice.
  20. No, but I did see him run through a line like a beast, block a punt, and jump on it for a TD. Plays like that usually help.
  21. I know this post will be followed with a million "i've heard of him!" posts; but does anyone think that maybe Ritzman AND Gause were cut because we're interested in Hugh Douglas?
  22. I just watched the 8/31 practice video on bb.com and noticed something interesting. All through training camp, Roscoe Parrish had his arm in a sling. But ont the video, there's no more sling. He seems to be moving his arm around fine. However, it seems he's wearing a thick cast that I hadn't noticed before. So do you think it's good that it's no longer in a sling or bad that he's got a big cast?
