Off-season spending
BillsFanForever19 replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What money? Buscaglia tweeted last night Sanders took us close to zero. We moved Smith for a couple mil. Then we tendered Ike Boettger and re-signed Levi Wallace. -
Have you clicked on that link of the Pegula jet or looked at it's flight history? Even if you believed that it was to visit someone from the Bears (which given COVID protocols, our cap space, and a million other reasons, doesn't make sense in the first place) - there's nothing about a flight to Chicago anywhere anymore. Even if you believe it's a trade and it's not Zach Ertz - I just don't get why you're completely focused on Khalil Mack and Kyle Fuller when it could be a move for literally anyone in the league.

Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]
BillsFanForever19 replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tbh - I'm not convinced we'll be trading for him. I think Beane's waiting it out knowing that they'll probably end up releasing him. He turned 30 just over 4 months ago. He's not that old. Especially for a Tight End where guys like Gronk, Olsen, Witten, and others go until they're truly ancient. I'd rather have Ertz than Rudolph or Cook. -
Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]

Dude.... He had injury issues and bad QB play on a bad team last season. Even taking last year into account, we're talking about a guy who just turned 30, was a Pro Bowler from 2017-2019, a First Team All Pro in 2018, and averages 760 yards and 8 TD's a season. You might not be a fan and he might not be Travis Kelce. But saying he "blows" is *way* off. -
Bills re-sign Levi Wallace
BillsFanForever19 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow. I didn't see any possible way we'd be able to retain an, at least, adequate young CB for under 2.13 million. Beane never ceases to surprise me. -
JC Jackson - RFA - Tendered 2nd Rd

Gotcha. Though I don't think even in the days of poison pills that would have been okay. -

... but then why would New England match it? We'd be stuck with the guy on that contract we signed and then *we'd* have to pay 40 million if he played more than 2 games. -
Trading for Khalil Mack definitely doesn't fall in line with Beane saying we won't be players in the off-season bc we don't have the space and that we'd be lucky to be able to keep our big FA's (which we did). Also, if this was a possibility - we'd have outright released Addison to save money. Not restructure him to stay. Probably would have been in on Yannick Ngakoue, Carl Lawson, and/or Matt Judon because it wouldn't cost us multiple firsts. Mack would be a bigger trade than Diggs.

Except: a.) https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2021/03/15/bears-khalil-mack-contract-restructure-2021/ They massively restructured him yesterday to create cap space. If they were to trade him - they'd have let us do that legwork. Can't remember a time someone restructured someone one day and then traded them the next. b.) Both Mack and Fuller would take trading a 1st, which I can't see Beane doing two years in a row. And a stupid amount of cuts and restructures. Even with Mack's restructure - we'd have to find 14 million in cap space for this season. And his hit goes up to *30.3* next season.

It might not to you. And in a vacuum - Ertz alone might not inspire a team change. But adding him to what we already have could be the tipping point for her. Especially since she said she's in the market for a new team anyways. He is a popular player. Maybe she really likes him. I think if you're hoping for something bigger than Zach Ertz - you're really setting yourself up for disappointment.

I really don't believe the Pegula jet means anything. Pretty sure nothing's changed on COVID protocols and everything needs to be done virtually. Could be Sabres related. Or business related. Or personal. Either way, the jet meant nothing last season and I don't think it does this year either. I'm pretty convinced it's signing Ertz after the Eagles release him bc no one's willing to trade for a guy they know is going to get cut anyways. This falls in line with: - Emmanuel Sanders is Part 1: Part 1 as in Ertz will be acquired the same way. We have a deal in place but are waiting on the release at 4 PM. - 4 PM is not the deadline: Because 4 PM is the deadline for the Eagles. Our move will come after.

Pegula's jet flight activity Chicago?
BillsFanForever19 replied to Mcg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2021/03/15/bears-khalil-mack-contract-restructure-2021/ It doesn't make any sense for them to massively restructure his deal to create cap space for them - just to trade him. Also, much like last season - I don't think the league is cool with flying and meeting players face to face when you can zoom and do things electronically. Other years the Pegula jet watch meant something. Last season, not so much. And I don't think protocols have changed. -
Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]
BillsFanForever19 replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He had that this season. Ertz should get him to 5k. -
Bills sign Emmanuel Sanders

From what I've been reading, Samuel's gonna come in out of our price range. -
Red Rifle aka Andy Dalton to Chi town.

Imagine your QB room being Nick Foles and Andy Dalton in 2021. Yikes. -
Bills a rumored suitor for Kareem Hunt trade
BillsFanForever19 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's totally fine. I feel I should specify that I wasn't saying a trade for him is a total impossibility and shouldn't be talked about. Just that the Twitter nobody's being taken as credible was getting out of hand. But I'll leave this thread and others like it alone going forward. Thank you for the work you do. -

Here? Yes. And I was. Then you took a personal shot. But we can take that to the DM's if you'd like to continue going forward. -

This is less credible than the Ertz thread that just got locked. If you like believing in fiction, may I suggest Tolkien?
