Sal Carpaccio: Corey Coleman Is In Trouble
BillsFanForever19 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sal C. says he's gone. Joe B. says he'll stay. Looking at who else could be on the roster instead of him... i'll take my chances that he'll get better. Keep him. -
It doesn't need to be said right now and i'm not saying he should say who the starter is. I have no problem with saying little to nothing at all, ala Belichick. What i'm saying is it's goofy to take it to the other extreme. With McCarron obviously hurt, 2nd opinion notwithstanding, and underperforming regardless - it sounds stupid saying it's still a 3 way competition, if it isn't a broken bone. We're splitting hairs anyways. My main point is I hate when McDermott's coach speak lends itself to eye rolls.

[Edited Title] Tremaine Edmunds looks Lost
BillsFanForever19 replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw a marked improvement from him as the game progressed. But, for sure, he was diagnosing plays poorly for much of his early snaps. In my eyes - this season was always going to be about getting our new QB and our new MLB experience. Edmunds is 20 years old. There's going to be growing pains with both of them. They ended the drought last season. Let's season our investments and take our lumps this year. Let the kid grow and relax. -
Before the Coleman trade, yes. At that point we had no idea when Zay would be getting cleared and promising rookie Cam Phillips had just been injured. Now that we have Coleman, Zay, and Cam (all of which were unavailable to us in the last Pre-Season game) on the field, nope. I'm good. Especially after seeing how KB has looked and performed.

Not an ACL - an Achilles. Which is even worse. -
Interesting Astro Tweet re: Beane

Better get a WR back in the deal. I don't think we're as bad off at WR as a lot of people think. But that squad without Benjamin? Yikes.... -
Allen should start with #1's
BillsFanForever19 replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At least the second team. With that O-Line and those WR's - how can you truly evaluate him? Robert Foster was running down the field 35 yards with his head turned one play and then inexplicably stopping on a go-route that ends in an overthrow on the next. I get not wanting to rush him. But on the flip side, playing with these guys who are going to be out of the league in a few weeks does him no favors. -

You're right. If this was anything of substance - we'd be at 150 pages by now. -

It has nothing to do with what anyone does with their time. Just to say that following Hughes' Twitter would be getting RIDICULOUSLY ahead of yourself. There has been no indication that Mack is available and that we'd even be in on it if he were. And even if he was and we were - there's no guarantee it would definitively involve Hughes. -

If anyone is seriously monitoring Jerry Hughes' Twitter because they think Astro's vague tweet implies a trade, that said trade would be for Khalil Mack, and that a Khalil Mack trade would have to involve Jerry Hughes... I just don't know what to say. -

Bigger issue is that wasn't a real Adam Schefter tweet. Fake account. -

Mack's great and a Buffalo hero. But we have Hughes and Murphy at DE. Both legit starters that we're signed on to pay starter money to. The way I see it, DE is set at the moment. Would Mack be an upgrade? Yes. But is it really worth it to Beane to give up what it would take in both cap and trade compensation for a position he feels he already covered this offseason? I don't see it. -
Browns fans react to Coleman trade
BillsFanForever19 replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As compensation in a trade? No, you can't. Sure, they could have cut him and got no compensation. But that's not the situation I was referring to. -

Well... yeah. You can't get worse compensation than a 7th two years from now. -
WR Cam Phillips #5 - UDFA Virginia Tech
BillsFanForever19 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd imagine you're going to see that change. Brandon Beane himself was talking this morning (on One Bills Live) about how he's noticed he's been making the tough catches in Practice. And if that happens - will it be okay with you if I talk about him then? Sorry, I missed the memo that stated I should only talk about stone cold locks. -

He's had some work gunning. But just because he was practicing there doesn't mean he has the job. Lots of guys are practicing in lots of places. I've yet to read that Foster is blowing anyone away at anything yet. "Making his mark" is a little much at this point. On the flip side, Cam Phillips has been making tons of plays. And as such - I created a thread about him. It's extremely early in the process. But if you've been to camp (or can read what the writers are writing), Phillips is outperforming every Rookie WR, at this point. Foster included. I realize you're an Alabama fan and you want your dude to do well. But let's not ignore what Phillips has done because of it. -

Funny, I don't recall making a Robert Foster thread... I'm just reporting what i've seen and what i've been hearing. Maybe Foster will make it and Phillips won't. Maybe it will be vice versa. But on the practice field, the kid keeps making plays. And it's worth recognizing right now. -

3) Cam Phillips keeps making plays - Despite one uncharacteristic drop in the middle of practice on Thursday, undrafted rookie wide receiver Cam Phillips continue his strong training camp with another huge day. Phillips set the tone early with the best reception of the day -- when Josh Allen unleashed a fastball from about 10 yards out to the back middle of the end zone intended for Phillips. The wideout had a defender draped all over him, showed strength on the ball and brought in the reception against all the odds. He doubled up on the success to end practice too. Allen fired it to the same spot and the same target, Phillips, and the rookie made another brilliant play on a perfectly thrown pass from a short distance. Whenever a wide receiver can complete the play the way that Phillips has been doing consistently through training camp, it usually begs a further look from the coaching staff to see if they can do it against some better competition. I would not be surprised if Phillips gets bumped up to work with the second-team offense before too long because he is significantly outplaying the rookie trio of Robert Foster, Ray-Ray McCloud, and Austin Proehl. https://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/joe-b-7-observations-from-2018-buffalo-bills-training-camp-day-7 -
WR Cam Phillips #5 - UDFA Virginia Tech

I'm pretty sure they drafted McCloud to be Tate's replacement in the return game. If he doesn't produce in the Pre-Season from that spot - maybe it's PS. But I think he'll be in the 53. People don't want to hear it. But my gut tells me this will be yet another season of Brandon Reilly just missing the 53. Too many more heralded prospects have walked through the door since last year. -
I know Reilly's the unsung hero of Bills fans. But that was before they signed a 2017 GB Draft Pick in Dupre, spent two 2018 Draft Picks in McCloud and Proehl, and signed more heralded UDFA's in Foster and Cam Phillips (who's killing it). Add in the locks of Kelvin Benjamin, Jeremy Kerley, and Zay Jones (most likely). McCloud is probably going to stick as a KR. That leaves 2-3 spots for everyone I listed in the first paragraph PLUS Andre Holmes and Rod Streater. Long story short - I think the media is setting Reilly and his fans up for disappointment. I don't see him making the 53 unless he absolutely is head and shoulders above everyone else. Which I don't see happening.

Day 6 MVP: WR Cam Phillips- As the pads have gone on, Phillips has risen to the challenge and is making an outstanding play almost on a daily basis. Wednesday was his best day so far. When I went to Fisher last Friday, I kept seeing #5 making plays. I had to check the roster sheet to see who he was. Since then, every single practice i've read the beat guys talking about him. If you go to practice, keep an eye out for him. I'm expecting/hoping for a solid Pre-Season.
