Sammy Watkins in Buffalo
BillsFanForever19 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean, I understand the Sammy hate from Bills fans. But this isn't even a question. Age aside, Sammy was playing a couple months ago. C.J. Spiller hasn't been in the NFL in 4 years. If the question were Sammy at 28 or C.J at 28 - that would be a different story. -
Thanks and Farewell to Matt Barkley
BillsFanForever19 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was one of the few that were Team Barkley in the 2013 Draft where we took EJ Manuel. Was a big fan of him in college and liked having him as our backup. You could tell he brought a lot to the locker room and especially Josh. Will always be a fan and will never forget him spinning around his coat during 'Renegade' in Pittsburgh. Thanks for everything, Matt. God speed! -
Sammy Watkins in Buffalo
BillsFanForever19 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean, I wouldn't be opposed. But we already have Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, Emmanuel Sanders, and Gabriel Davis. Unless he's signing for minimum and okay with being the new Isaiah McKenize - this makes little sense. -
Considering Beane said today that he feels really good about Levi Wallace competing with Dane Jackson for the #2 CB spot and that we don't have much cap space - I see about a 2% chance they back the brinks truck up for a player of that quality. Gonna be a bidding war.

Bills sign Mitch Trubisky, QB.
BillsFanForever19 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder if he'll be driving his Grandmother's 1997 Toyota Camry with 170,000 miles on it to Orchard Park 😆 -
I'm assuming he saw we re-signed Taiwan Jones and threw a sh-tfit because there's a Running Back in FA he likes and is now realizing that it's unlikely. Though he probably should have realized that we were always more likely to draft another one to replace Yeldon rather than spending valuable cap space on a vet to hop Singletary and Moss.

Are you scared of the CAP?
BillsFanForever19 replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What you, me, and anyone else think's doesn't matter. It's what Beane thinks and how he operates. And not spending to the cap and hampering yourself in the future is something he has been about and has talked about since day one. And he's done a pretty good job as a whole with that mindset. Sorry it's not as fun for you this offseason. -
What are you even talking about? The extension for Matakevitch was a restructure to free up cap space this year in disguise. Upset we signed Taiwan Jones? Get over it. Most teams do these kind of signings every season. It's just not as paid attention to because it's not as sexy. Maybe when Beane said at the end of the year that we wouldn't be big players in FA this offseason and that he was more focused on re-signing our own - you should have heard that instead of hearing we were going to sign RB's and other toys of the like. The best teams don't go ham in Free Agency. Get used to it. It's a good thing.

Bills re-sign Taiwan Jones

Croom (probably after Jones or his agents told him how infinitely stupid it was) has deleted that tweet and is now back tracking. -
Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]
BillsFanForever19 replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My only issue with this is we only signed Trubisky to a 1 year deal and Beane himself said he doesn't see him here longer than that. We'd have Josh Allen and no one behind him next season. -
Dumb. So, so dumb. He had a decent season. But he played his hand too hard and now I don't really feel sorry for him anymore.

Bills re-sign Taiwan Jones
BillsFanForever19 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Beane isn't the type of guy to announce a move unless either he or is his agent let him know it was done. Going out of his way to put egg on his face isn't a good look IMO. Real good way to get it rescinded. -

Ah, *****. You're right. Forgot about that. Thanks for the correction. -
Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]
BillsFanForever19 replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Roseman wasn't happy with the initial offers - I think the best we can hope for is he concedes to it. Offering less would be a really good way to kill it completely. Personally, I'm not offering higher than a 4th. If it takes the 30th pick in the 3rd Round, I could live with it. But anything beyond that is absolute crazy talk given his age and that we'd have to pay him on top of it. Side note - what if it isn't Ertz at all? What if it's Philip Lindsey? I'd be thrilled with that too. -

I was just going to come here and say I think that the timing of not only the presser but the Chargers signing Cook signals Roseman is being unreasonable and everyone's out. But now I'm hoping the Chargers signing Cook has brought him back down to earth. Imagine being Ertz and being told you can talk to teams about a trade - only for Roseman to be like "yeah, we're not really interested in trading you for less than an unreasonable price". Guys gotta be so pissed right now. -

This, in conjunction with Beane holding a presser at 2, which is believed to signify the end of our spending - leads me to believe we're out 😢 -
Beane/McD zoom call today at 2pm
BillsFanForever19 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Glad he's doing this. It's almost as if he *didn't* tell everyone at the year end presser that we wouldn't be players in Free Agency. That it would be difficult to re-sign our own guys and we'd be lucky to do it 😑 I get people hoping that was lip service. But after a bunch of releases, re-structures, extensions, signings, and re-signs bringing us close to broke - on top of him STRAIGHT UP TELLING US - I felt like I was taking crazy pills listening to people go "he can find more cap space" and "we're getting Khalil Mack!" -

See: Whaley, Doug (and the mess that Brandon Beane inherited and spent years to dig himself out of) -
Off-season spending
BillsFanForever19 replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get what you're saying. But when someone says "how do you want to spend the money" - that would imply we have it to spend. And the fact remains until he does free up more, which there's no guarantee he will, we just don't atm. Keep in mind, Beane himself said he wasn't going to be a player in FA bc of the cap and that he'd be focused on re-signing our own. That doesn't jive with doing more restructures to go on a spending spree. Especially since he hasn't yet while everyone's being scooped up. -
Off-season spending
BillsFanForever19 replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have to pay the piper at some point. Keep in mind we have to re-up Josh and Edmunds soon too. Logic would also dictate that if Beane wanted to free up money to go ham - he would have by now while everyone's being gobbled up. It's possible we make *a* move or two and work some stuff around. Ertz being the most likely IMO. We've spent a fair amount of money already. It's just mostly been our own guys. Not every offseason is going to be crazy exciting. And when you have the type of winning team we have, it usually isn't. That's a good thing btw. But to say "where are we spending the money" - the fact is it's not there atm. -

What money? Buscaglia tweeted last night Sanders took us close to zero. We moved Smith for a couple mil. Then we tendered Ike Boettger and re-signed Levi Wallace. -
Have you clicked on that link of the Pegula jet or looked at it's flight history? Even if you believed that it was to visit someone from the Bears (which given COVID protocols, our cap space, and a million other reasons, doesn't make sense in the first place) - there's nothing about a flight to Chicago anywhere anymore. Even if you believe it's a trade and it's not Zach Ertz - I just don't get why you're completely focused on Khalil Mack and Kyle Fuller when it could be a move for literally anyone in the league.

Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]
BillsFanForever19 replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tbh - I'm not convinced we'll be trading for him. I think Beane's waiting it out knowing that they'll probably end up releasing him. He turned 30 just over 4 months ago. He's not that old. Especially for a Tight End where guys like Gronk, Olsen, Witten, and others go until they're truly ancient. I'd rather have Ertz than Rudolph or Cook. -

Dude.... He had injury issues and bad QB play on a bad team last season. Even taking last year into account, we're talking about a guy who just turned 30, was a Pro Bowler from 2017-2019, a First Team All Pro in 2018, and averages 760 yards and 8 TD's a season. You might not be a fan and he might not be Travis Kelce. But saying he "blows" is *way* off.
