  1. The problem with trading for Jeudy is the same as a team trading for Oliver - he's a 1 year rental. A very good talent, but if you don't know if you're going to have him beyond this season, why would you give up much for him? I suspect Denver wouldn't want to give him away for the price they'll get for a 1 year rental and will only move him to a team that will have a long term contract agreed upon and as such is willing to pay a higher price. And that long term contract surely won't be cheap.
  2. The Milano extension saved us 6 million. https://www.wgrz.com/article/sports/nfl/bills/buffalo-bills-sign-matt-milano-to-2-year-extension-in-cap-saving-move/71-e560d6cc-8c4a-44aa-819f-e39cfa1cdad0
  3. So yeah, if your estimates are correct - we're probably sitting at 14-15 under right now. Gotta do a lot more to do anything resembling what I was commenting on. As for Poyer, I'd imagine it's much more likely he's weighing his options rather than he's in danger of being left without a suitor because he's asking for too much. It's extremely early in FA and he's still one of the top Defensive players available.
  4. Sure, if we make a bunch more moves to free money, we hypothetically could. Jeudy's a 5 million dollar cap hit on the last year of a Round 1 contract. Spotrac's estimated market value on Poyer is 11 million annually (and he's not taking a team friendly deal). Lavonte David is estimated at 9.7 million annually. Even another mid tier OL won't be cheap. We saved up to about 23 million or so under the cap with all the moves and we've cut into it with the moves for McGovern, Martin, Matakevitch, and Lewis. We're nowheres near doing all of what's listed above right now.
  5. Yeah... we're going to have to free up a LOT more money to do all of that. The restructures and extensions probably put us around 23 under the cap. When you factor in the moves we made today and the money we need for Draft picks - we may be able to do one of David, Poyer, Jeudy, or another big OL signing. All 4 is a pipedream in the current state.
  6. Hope the Miller and Allen restructures are tied to this getting done soon.
  7. So that's 32 Mil for Josh and Von, 6 mil for Milano's extension, 1.3 mil from Hines' restructure, and 600k for Settle's restructure. Roughly 40 million freed up at around 17.6 over. Would be interested to see where that leaves us after McGovern, Martin, Matakevitch, and Lewis moves.
  8. Paying up depends on your view on things. Spotrac estimates his value at 4.1 annually while they estimate Devin Singletary at 5.5.
  9. Once again, they can and will have to do both. We have starters at RB and on the Line that are Free Agents. They will have to be signed, drafted, or re-signed.
  10. We have a hole at starting Left Guard with Rodger Saffold and a hole at 3rd OT (who often ends up starting) with David Quessenberry both being Free Agents. So at the very least, we have to add or re-sign 2. Combine that with the poor performance they had last season, they will probably do more than that. But it's physically impossible for them to ignore the Offensive Line.
  11. Exactly this. So tiresome to see people respond to every discussion about any other position with "OL". You guys do know it's possible to do both, right? And discussing other players at other positions doesn't mean people are saying "neglect the OL". Trust me, they're going to add players on the Offensive Line.
  12. Nuke would cost a pick and a MUCH bigger contract. Which given the amount of holes we have to fill with 24 Free Agents - I don't think we could afford. OBJ could be gotten for much less, could yield big results, and you could use the pick you saved not trading for Nuke on another WR.
  13. I mean, they have 24 Free Agents. They were always going to have to free up money to replace those bodies and/or bring some back. Whether they'll be able to come up with enough to sign any real big names as upgrades remains to be seen.
  14. I meant I didn't think they were bad selections when they were selected. Fromm was considered an absolute steal in the 5th Round. Pre-Draft he was talked about as a possible 2nd Round Pick. Obviously, it didn't work out. But for the better part of 3 Rounds people were asking "when is Jake Fromm coming off the board?" Obviously, it didn't work out, even in the Backup role. But in 2020 when we just had Josh and Barkley backing him up - a late 5th on a guy who was considered an immense value pick and could have provided insurance if Josh were to get hurt and in turn become possible trade bait wasn't a bad selection, in the moment.
  15. It seems to me every offseason, Diggs completely unplugs mentally from team stuff to recharge. Probably followed the Cowboys just to see stuff about his brother. And also to cause a spot of bother and keep his name in the press. Really nothing to see here.
  16. He's gone. It was obvious even before Schefter's report. The second Edmunds said he's going to test the market, he was gone. He's going to command a $100 million deal - maybe a little less, maybe a little more. We were never going to pay that, even if we could. Which we can't.
  17. He can get the ball to anyone. But will they catch it? Gabe Davis only caught 51% of his targets last season. McKenzie was at 65% before he was benched. That's a lot of drops. We only have Diggs, Davis, Shakir, and McKenzie under contract next season. And McKenzie is more likely than not going to be released. Last season proved that we can't just have Diggs and Davis and a bunch of slots. We need more playmakers. Beane is the first to say it. I'm not in disagreement with you that we need O-Line improvements. But I do disagree with the idea that the O-Line is going to fix all the passing game's problems. Especially when we have holes to fill there beyond needing improvements.
  18. Exactly. In whatever line of work someone is in - if someone is being paid more than you for the same job and performance, you'd be a complete idiot to not at least try and get the same or better. I doubt any of these people would say "You know what? I think it's dumb what they're being paid. I'm going to take less and be happy about it. That'll show them!"
  19. To me it's more about bad luck. Outside of doubling down on DE's and selecting Boogie Basham in 2021 instead of taking Creed Humphrey and reaching for Terrel Bernard in Round 3 2022 instead of selecting Dylan Parham - I haven't thought any of their picks were bad choices. From 2017-2022 - they've selected highly rated players who more often than not were good value picks. But for some reason or another, they just haven't panned out as well as expected. The Draft is a crapshoot and unfortunately, we haven't been getting much luck at the table.
  20. Anyone who thought we had a better shot at getting Edmunds back than Poyer doenn't know what gets people PAID in Free Agency. Those things are youth, experience while being young, a clean bill of health, production on winning teams, pro bowls, draft pedigree, measurements, and athleticism that can translate to different schemes. Edmunds checks every. single. box. And when it comes to his age to experience (5 year vet at age 24) - it's completely unheard of. Regardless of how posters feel about him around here, he's going to get paid. Wouldn't at all be shocked to see him being handed the highest contract for an Inside Linebacker in NFL history.
  21. Incorrect. The kerfuffle was over him unfollowing the Buffalo Bills on Instagram, removing his Bills pictures from there, and following the Dallas Cowboys. The article itself you linked does not say he still follows them on Insta. That said - this is all much ado about nothing.
  22. If McDermott is going to be doing the play calling as he has alluded to - what does it matter? And who of any pedigree would want the job if they aren't calling plays?
  23. No, but he did follow Von Miller, Damar Hamlin, and Greg Rousseau today.
  24. Haha that's awesome. Yeah, I've been saying all along that this is just a game to get media and fans to talk about him and this just proves it. End thread.
