  1. Stefon Diggs is easily one of the Top 5 WR's in Football. "What's that? He unfollowed the team on Instagram? Get rid of his ungrateful butt!" It would cost us close to $25 million dollars more to not have him on our roster than it would to have him. And where are you going to find someone who can come close to replacing his talents? "I never heard him say he's Bills Mafia for life and now he's doing some weird ***** on Social Media? He's not a team player. He's not worth the trouble!" There's some seriously thin skinned fans who can't see the forest from the trees on this board.
  2. So everytime a player gets upset on a sideline they need to alert the media and pledge their undying allegiance to the team?
  3. Um... no. He signed his 4 year, 96 million dollar extension on 4/6/22. Give it a Goog.
  4. .... but he like, literally did. He signed a long term contract less than a year ago and said he wants to retire as a Buffalo Bill. Saying he quote wants to grow old with Josh Allen. It is put to bed. He's just trolling to keep his name in the media in the Offseason. People need to chilllllll.
  5. Everybody is too emotional around here. He's a top diva WR. These things come with the territory and are worth the cost. And as far as diva WR antics go, his offseason social media games are rather tame. He is either (or perhaps both): a.) Wanting to get attention and keep his name in the press during the offseason. b.) Sees the cap situation and is giving the front office second thoughts about playing with his money.
  6. I mean, it would be nice. I just think the idea of his value not being there at 27 is off. Especially trading down to get him and possibly missing out on him. Trading down would be a risk Beane wouldn't take if he liked him.
  7. There's no trading down for Zay Flowers. I've seen just as many mocks with him off the board at 27 than on it. If they want him, they'll have to take him there.
  8. Not an issue at all because he's going to be WAY out of our price range. He's a 2 time Pro Bowler with 5 years of experience at the age of 24 with freakish size and athleticism and a completely clean bill of health. Regardless of how many feel about him around here, being young, healthy, having had success, and having the measurables are what gets one paid in FA. And he has all of it. His age and wear and tear for his level of experience is completely unheard of. With the expected raise in cap, I expect his contract to be north of 100 million dollars. Most likely the largest contract for an Inside Linebacker in NFL history. If not Roquan's 100 million dollar deal, than it won't be very far behind. He's already said he's testing the market and once that happens - it's over. No decision at all.
  9. Under a 10 million dollar 1 year deal? I don't think so. Exactly. And a 10 million dollar cap hit on that one year. I think fans are really over exaggerating the amount of return he'd get us. Wouldn't be enough to even replace him with a player of his caliber. So why do it?
  10. We're losing Jordan Poyer already and Damar Hamlin is no guarantee to return this season and you want to trade Micah? That's madness. Down a LG and needing upgrades at RG and RT? Let's create a hole at Center too. Reggie Gilliam? Reward a guy for working hard and doing things the right way and then ask him to restructure/cut him a year later, even though he's performed well. Yeah, that's a great message to send to the locker room. And everyone's all gung ho on moving Ed Oliver. But he was performing rather well when Von Miller was in and he was getting help from better DE play. Moving on from him would leave us with just Daquan Jones and Tim Settle. Whatever we get for him would have to be used to get a Starter to replace him. I don't understand how fans are looking at the team needing upgrades while also needing to fill 24 holes from Free Agents leaving and think "let's create more holes elsewhere".
  11. Even if he likes him as #2, we still need another viable outside WR at least on the same level as Gabe Davis. Last year (and common sense) proved that you can't have just 2 quality outside WR's, a bunch of slots (Crowder, McKenzie, Shakir, and later Beasley), and a Special Teamer (Kumerow). Regardless of who is "#2" - we will most likely only have 3 true WR's under contract from last season. So he's going to have to add there. My hope is Diggs, Davis, at least 1 more strong outside WR (via FA/Trade and/or the first couple rounds of the Draft), and Shakir in the slot (McKenzie released for cap space). Filled out by mid to late round picks and/or bargain FA's identified as fits or diamonds in the rough.
  12. Yes, we do have to build the line. But Devin Singletary and Taiwan Jones (even though he's more of a Special Teamer) are Free Agents. Nyheim Hines has a cap hit too large for his role so he'll either have to agree to a pay cut or be cut. So right now the only Running Back that will surely be here is James Cook. Building the line or not, we have a big, big hole at RB right now. It's worth talking about and not an offense on building through OL to talk about it.
  13. I think that's kind of an odd question. I mean, maybe there are *some* people that became a fan of the team because of a single play. But I think most of us are fans because they were the local team, the team they were raised on, or simply liking players or play style. I think a better question would be what's your favorite Bills plays and/or what made you a fan? I don't think you're going to find many posters on this board that will point to a play being the thing that made them love this team.
  14. This is why i'm against trading Ed Oliver. Yes, we'd save 10 million dollars. But we'd have to then use premium resources in a top Draft pick or cap equity to replace him. With Jordan Phillips also a Free Agent, we'd be down to just Daquan Jones and Tim Settle at DT. So how much are we really saving by getting rid of him?
  15. Perhaps it was just injuries, but he was buried in the depth chart at the end of the year. It was confusing to me because at the beginning of the year he was a Starter who seemed to be holding his own. Then when he came back from the hand injury, he couldn't get playing time over Tre, Kaiir, and Dane. But re: the OP - I agree. If Damar can return and Benford is switched to Safety as alluded to, I really think that position could be covered. Maybe sign a cheap vet you think could work in the system and/or Draft a guy you like in the midrounds. But I don't see the need to select one in Round 1 or 2.
  16. I mean - not completely. But in a way, yes. After all, we only have Diggs, Davis, Shakir, and McKenzie under contract. And McKenzie will most likely be a cap casualty. That leaves only 3 WR's on the roster. Diggs is #1. End of story. Don't replace Davis in the sense of getting rid of him. But he should at least be sharing reps with a more reliable WR, if not moved down the depth chart in favor of one completely. That leaves just Khalil Shakir. He showed some real promise as a Rookie and hopefully will continue to grow as McKenzie's replacement in the slot.
  17. Everyone drafts for need. No one takes someone at a position they have filled with a great player with their first pick if they have holes on the team. But you want that value and need to line up. If it doesn't, trade down. Unluckily for us, we're going to have a lot of holes to fill going into this Draft. So BPA and Need will almost assuredly line up nicely.
  18. I don't see it. Edmunds is 24 years old, with 5 years of experience, a relatively clean bill of health, elite measurables and athleticism for a man his size, and 2 Pro Bowls while QB'ing one of the top ranked Defenses in the NFL. Regardless of how people feel about him around here, those are a lot of qualities that go into what makes one HIGHLY overpaid on the open market. He's already said he's going to test that field and that market is going to be well beyond our price range. He's gone and people on this board are going to be shocked by the contract he signs for with another team.
  19. He was born and raised in Southern California. Went to college at USC. Went back to Southern California to play for the Rams the second his Rookie deal ended. I'd bet the house that he'll end up back with the Rams or with the Chargers next season. His heart is in Southern California.
  20. I'd imagine it had more to do with being cut from the Practice Squad and not being one of the WR's brought back on a Futures deal. Best believe if he still had an in with us or any NFL team, he wouldn't have signed with the CFL.
  21. In a vacuum, maybe. However, this year with 24 Free Agents including multiple starters and being over the cap - I don't know that we can afford to be giving up picks in a Draft where we already only own 6 picks. I think trading down is much more likely this season.
  22. Hodgins is a big body, but does not have speed. He's a red zone, contested catch guy who has no Special Teams ability. Also, John Brown was added 3 weeks after Hodgins was signed by the Giants. Cole Beasley after that. Beane didn't choose them over Hodgins. We'll never know if Beane offered him a spot on the 53 or not when the Giants called. Very possible he did and Hodgins himself chose the Giants. He's caught on with a team that had a weak roster, a weak WR core, and clearly overachieved. Good for him. But let's stop turning him into some Pro Bowl player deserving to be spoken of in the same breath as Wyatt Teller. Deep rostered teams like we were at the time put players on the Practice Squad that will be poached by less deep teams. Like Raheem Blackshear in Carolina. Good for him as well. There were spots for them there that wasn't here at the time.
  23. I'm in the same spot as you. I figured things would chill out after some time and especially after it became clear no one was going anywhere. But it's just as bad now as it was right after the loss. I can understand the fears that maybe this is far as this coaching staff can get us and of Beane's Drafts. But is this what the board is going to be all 2023? People posting that the coaching staff and front office need to go unsolicited in every reply? Secretly or not so secretly rooting on the teams demise so that there will be change? It's become a really depressing toxic place of late for sure.
