  1. marcel is exhausting. he's like a kid you love but keeps letting you down and underachieving until you finally just have to show him the door no matter what the cost.
  2. And the over under for the Rams was 5.5 wins this year. I put $250 on that and $250 on Chiefs winning 9 games. Easy money
  3. watkins has a lot of heart, amazing talent and serious work ethic. sadly, he'll spend more time in the training room and the injury reports than on the field. i miss the guy but i dont miss wondering if hes gonna play every single week. same with dareus, love him but he's sort of annoying to have on your team.
  4. We will see how popgun Trevor does in Rich Stadium (yeah I still call it that) The guy has good pocket presence, two elite targets in Demarius and Sanders, and sure he has a better Oline than last year, and he's statistically the most accurate passer in the league, but it's not like he has a great defense that can get him field position, and we have a rookie at LT and a sub-par RT so we should be fine holding off the two Hall of Fame pass rushers. Line should be 10. Dennison is our only hope, both in his understanding of the Denver O and his embarrassing game last week. We will see if the guy is any good and not just another Nate Hackett.
  5. there is no hard count, no quick to the line snaps to catch the 12th man running off the field, no rub routes or pick plays at the line (legal for the first yard and often allowed after that), no attempt to fake hide the ball by the qb after the handoff to set up the bootleg or at least freeze the defense for half a second, and no attempts to throw a jump ball on 3rd down and long to our tall receivers matthews and Holmes. These are huge weapons for all good offenses, I see us utilizing none of these.
  6. Good post. I've been waiting...for a poster like you, to come into my life.
  7. donald jones said because the safety on that side stayed in the middle of the field, the receivers job is to "go high" on that route, meaning continue the route into the end zone. No need to cut it short or turn to the outside. Zay's mistake all day according to DJ on the Murph show. Tyrod froze the safety and put the ball where he should have. So its not a question of a bad throw or a missed catch, it was neither: just a route miscalc by a rookie. I wished we had won at the time, but now that its over and I see that this offense cant win a championship, i will take the L and the higher draft spot.
  8. Defense is pretty good. Poyer is this year's Lorax for sure. Score is slightly misleading as both qb missed all day, Cam two wide open touchdowns (among others) and Tyrod threw out of bounds a lot and missed the game winner as well. Not sure what Dennison's counter was to a stacked box but he needs a better one that includes compensating for the fact that our right guard and tackle are weak. No NFL running game will do well with no passing game. Tyrods fear of throwing a pick on 3rd downs needs to go away. Matthews and Holmes are long-armed tall guys, they need a few jump balls, a great way to get a flag or a long play and tip the field position. A 40 yard INT on 3rd down is equivalent to a punt. This conservative play is futile
  9. yep. at some point, like week 8 at home against the Raiders, or hosting the Saints, but no later than the Colts Dec 10th. Gotta give the kid a shot this season. Meanwhile Dennison needs to stop channeling Nate Hackett and realize Tyrod's game is scrambling and long balls, not pocket passing and small stuff.
  10. i agree with Gannon, the veteran qb wearing the superbowl ring. Tyrod missed that one. in fairness to Tyrod, its not like he gets many chances to throw vertically anymore with this popgun Hackett style system. Dennison seems pretty uninventive to me.
  11. i could see that happening, but really these rook qb's need a full year on the bench. but our situation kinda calls for getting the kid in there at some point because it may affect the way we draft if he lights it up.
  12. stepped on their throat by allowing three points in the second half to a good offense on their home opener. dont blame the D, they were solid
  13. yeah we'll see about that. this team defense will shut down any mediocre attack, and denver is barely mediocre
  14. the fast track to the top would be phasing in Peterman around week ten and continuing his development. there is a chance this kid can be a solid pro, and having six early draft picks would certainly help his Oline and weapons for next year. Meanwhile, I still think TT is exciting to watch, even if he isnt the best thrower.
  15. If I were a safety I'd love to play in McDermott's system they get to have a lot of fun back there. I still think that grabbing Malik Hooker would have been a good move for us but obviously that remains to be seen. If the guy turns out to be the generational talent that many think, he sure would be a perfect fit for a system like this.
  16. uh....ok we'll wait then because the Forte and Powell stink and they were trying to get tackled on purpose. Got it.
  17. Seemed to me our guys were getting open. If we need anything it's help on the right side of the Oline
  18. A defense AND a kicker. I hope that Hauschka thing was an anomaly. I swear I would burn a 2nd round pick on a kicker if there was another Janikowski out there. As far as Tyrod goes, he started to do that flat footed thing as the game went on where he doesn't bounce or move his feet at all. Some carryover from last year's training. I think they want him to relax a little more in the pocket and trust his Oline and receivers another full second before he does the Houdini.
  19. All I know is I finally got the chance to meet Hammer at the u2 show, man that dude is hilarious. a true buffalo legend.
  20. Well for some reason the Panthers who won fewer games than we did last year are favored by a touchdown this Sunday. I watched the game on DVR, Cam looks like he shouldn't be playing: Missing open receivers, rubbing and stretching his shoulder constantly, flexing his hand like he had nerve pain or something. He ended up completing all six pass attempts in the second half but that's misleading when you watch the game. I think he's being forced back too early and it's not just "rust" like the carolina press is saying. He's in the same boat as Andrew Luck right now--shoulders are the curse of the mobile qb because they tend to get hit more and land on them hard several times a game. I took the 7 points and I'm going to take the money line on Sunday too because the Bills are going to win this one. Why? I believe McD and Dennison will have a plan to limit the great Thomas Davis/Keuchly duo, I have no specific X's and O's to back this up, only that having a mobile qb and good running game with play action (we have both) can either freeze LB's or force one of them to stay home-- and we'll put up enough points and harass Cam enough to get the W. It's gonna be a warm one down there so I'm glad we'll be reaching almost 80 every day this week for practice. Bills start 2-0 New England loses to Brees and Co. 0-2
  21. I hope they use this kid in a few H-back short yardage plays. I know we use the fullback for this stuff but this kid has some serious power. hope he gets his feet and balance technique down pat. nice analysis by the kid
  22. this is true preseason is simply evaluation, vanilla gameplans and generally uninspired play in meaningless games. teams change considerably in the offseason and you can't tell what you have until the first real kickoff. we could be a 10 win team or a 5 win team, nobody has any clue yet.
  23. yes, a healthy sammy with a reasonable cap number. the guy had 400 yards for us last year
  24. we will see if gilmore girl is better than our starters. he wasn't very good last night. 40M GUARANTEED hahahahhaha suckers
