  1. It doesn't matter who starts at qb for the Bucs. They're going to lose by two scores. The team has potential but they're just not clicking enough to come into Orchard Park and win. We aren't a great team but we're a better than they are, especially with our home crowd and defense.
  2. well we beat them 16-0 last year in foxboro with a mediocre team. the GENIUS coach couldn't muster a single point.
  3. The biggest mystery to me is the Oline. I really think its being mismanaged. I know the PFF grading system has its flaws, mainly because the evaluators often don't know specifics of player assignments on each play, but one thing it does well is evaluate individual blocking skills in one on one situations. With that in mind, I am at a loss as to why Groy isn't in for the inconsistent John Miller, and Dawkins doesn't slide to the right side this week and replace Mills. Get Cordy back at LT and lets run with our best 5 in place for the rest of the year. This offense can move the chains with decent Oline play. Our receivers can get open, we can run the ball (yes even Tolbert can be a solid rb2), Tyrod can stay in the pocket a bit longer. We could have AJ Green and Julio at WR and we would still sputter until the Oline gets shored up.
  4. Rogers gone. Patriots are basically a 500 team, Cowboys and Raiders with much less pop than last year, Denver and Pitt mediocre. KC still tough at home but gave one away yesterday, Atlanta losing to us and the Fins at home. The NFL odds makers have to be scratching their heads every week now. I know I am. At this point, unless you're the niners or browns, your team can make the playoffs. Parity is exciting. Great time for us to start a run after the bye.
  5. Imagine having to make that decision... On one hand, you're set for life moneywise and don't need the cash. On the other hand, you've been a star your whole life and playing football defines you. The camaraderie, leadership role, thrill of competition, possible hall of fame induction, very tough to give up. Maybe I'd go with the Kelso helmet (which they all should wear) and go one more round. If I get concussed at 4th time I hang it up
  6. This is the way. except i see Groy at RG, Dawkins at RT, Glenn over at LT where he belongs. How is this not our best 5?
  7. He's good right now with lots of upside. Hasnt even had a full season's worth of games yet, be patient with the kid.
  8. DJ is growing on me on the Murph Show. He seems to be getting into the details of the game more which is his strength over the normal radio-guy-who-never-played shtick which we have far too much of. He was talking about the complexities of a qb/wr relationship. It started when a caller suggested Peterman come in and play. DJ said, well we're a 3-2 team right now, and a quarterback change will never happen on a team with a winning record, but he went on to explain that the primary reason for that is the timing and feel for each receiver is very different. He said bringing in a new WR at this stage in the game would be nearly impossible. Elevating a practice squad receiver who knows the offense would be done first, and he said a guy like Shorts,Reilly, Brown or Streater is the only option for them right now. You absolutely need the camp and the reps in the specific offense you run in order to be able to step in and make a difference mid-season. To give up a future WR in draft pick form is too risky to gamble on getting a veteran WR that can contribute immediately. Tasker chimed in and said it's not like baseball or even hoops where you can bring guys in mid-season and they can win for you right away unless it's a very specific job like kick returner, 3rd down edge rusher specialist--something one dimensional. This may be why new guys like Sammy aren't seeing many targets, it's not his skills per se, but how well the qb knows him and what he'll do based on all the variables inside each play. He said separation is important but not as important as timing and trust. I hadn't thought of it that way. Pretty interesting.
  9. The real Dixon is Kenneth Dixon of the Baltimore Ravens. This kid has incredible talent, set NCAA record for 87 touchdowns. Drafted in the 4th round two years ago, had a suspension and never got rolling his rookie season (like 400 yards and 2 TD's in a backup role). Tore his meniscus this summer, went to IR. If he ever returns to form he will carve up the league. Too bad we didn't grab him instead of Karlos the StressEater that draft, he might be our feature back right now with Shady as the slippery 3rd down type guy. In other news, we don't need any more fullbacks, lot's of good ones sitting at home by the phone right now. We need a good halfback, maybe that's Smokin Joe Barnyard Dawg? We'll know soon enough, if Dennison keeps forcing Shady into 8 and 9 man fronts (time to let TT audible a bit Rico?)
  10. and yet after all that, if we had just not left AJ singled with no safety help on that 2nd drive he doesn't go 77 yards and we probably win that game and go into the bye week 1 zay jones error away from being 5-0
  11. he's graded out as one of our top 5 players thus far. as usual. also good to see dareus coming around, I expect he and Kyle to dominate the trenches at home against Oaktown
  12. i guess thats what I dont get. The only thing I can think of is our safeties didnt realize it was AJ out there and thought it was #16 or 14. There is no corner that can cover him one on one. He's one of the best to ever play and he's still in his prime. I think we win that game without that mental error. McD should have called timeout if he recognized it. Dalton sure did, and Green was open by 5 yards.
  13. After the bye I expect Glenn back at LT, Dawkins over to RT and Groy at RG. Its our best 5
  14. the only way to evaluate the WR's is the all 22 game tape. Tyrod had similar numbers with Woods, Watkins and Clay last year.
  15. This is a good point. Maybe a running back or an edge rusher could make a difference immediately, as their job is a little more simple and requires less chemistry and team reps. But its probably too late for a WR this season. Also we're assuming our WR's weren't getting open. Last year with Sammy, Woods and Clay Tyrod still had similar games to yesterdays.
  16. I thought we should have drafted Ebron and then last year OJ Howard and they both seem pretty mediocre at best, so I lost my privileges to comment on TE's.
  17. They will get the kid in at some point this year but I sure hope it's with Glenn at LT, Groy at RG and a good blocking TE on the right side. I believe the 2018 draft will be a famous one for us, and we need some more data on Peterman before we decide how to use our multiple picks. .
  18. Im still shocked at the idiocy of that move. Dalton and AJ must've been laughing about it after the 77 yard pitch and catch that ultimately was the difference in the game. Cant blame TreD, I'm assuming it was some kind of mental error by Hyde? Did anyone see anything in the post game? The cornerstone of the McD/Frasier defenses has always been safety containment to avoid that exact type of play. 10 men on the field at the end of the Atlanta game and then we start a tough Cinci road game with that. Shades of Rob n Rex.
  19. if the process is to pound the ball into 8 man fronts, single cover AJ Green and mismanage the offensive to the point where a below average defense can disrupt our offense all day, then I do not trust the process.
  20. i still wonder what we'd look like with Sammy and Darby in our lineup. Wish we could have kept them both.
  21. meh. he's an elite athlete admitting his competitive side goes a little too far sometimes. Gee, what a news story....
  22. I disagree but if you're right leta sign DAngelo Williams baby
  23. excellent point. but man it feels good to watch us hit on a 1st round pick and see Belichick screw up another personnel move. $40m GUARANTEED for gilmore. Hes basically uncuttable, which means Bill has to continually be reminded he sucks at being a GM. Like when he watched Chandler Jones dominate last week and he sits with the worst defense in the league. GEEEEENIUS.....
  24. pretty even teams kc's home crowd seems a little more subdued but they have better Oline and probably win thia one
  25. did whaley dump zach brown or was that Beane? cant remember, he seems like he still has great sideline speed
