I haven’t been able to keep up enough to give a well-educated response, but I hope Jordan Hancock really takes off at Safety. Like his athleticism and pedigree and am worried about the injury history we have back there.

Good points. I hope Davis can be that player. He does have good power. I’m looking forward to seeing him this season with a year of NFL level training under his belt. I forgot about Chubb. When he was released I hoped we would sign him but knew we wouldn’t because we already have those spots filled on the roster. In the next draft I’m not convinced we should spend a high pick on a running back (and almost certainly won’t) but hypothetically it would be a lot of fun to have Kaleb Johnson, RB, Iowa on the roster. I guess I’m getting old - I miss those power run games! Power running, great D, perfect special teams, pass when you must… haha

This passing league is fun - especially having Allen. But man, I sure enjoyed watching those running game of old with guys like Jerome Bettis and Jamal Lewis where the D knew what was coming but couldn’t stop it. Made protecting leads in the 4th a bit easier too. In a dream world, the Bills would also have big power back to help grind the D down. Paired with Allen, that would be incredible. Not too many guys like that just lying around these days. Now they play other positions.

I liked him coming out of college - compact / explosive player. He’s been running in sand with the QBs he has had. If he makes the team and gets significant snaps with Allen as his QB, I think this will be a far better measure of who he can be as a player in this league. Looking forward to finding out.

Thanks for the in-depth. I sound like a broken record, but McBeane is good, not great. It’s that last 5% that they just can’t quite seem to pull off that a very few other teams are able to do to get over the hump. Who knows. Maybe they’ll improve. Or maybe we get lucky one of these years. It’s a game of inches (*cough*Andvegashollywoodbs*cough*) Maybe we could get Dalton Kincaid to be be in a love triangle with Beyoncé and Jay Z… have them to the games and stuff… LOL

That’s my guess. Perhaps character too, though I haven’t heard anything. That would obviously rule him out for me too if it should prove to be the case. That said, when I watched him in 2023 I thought “There’s a top 10 pick”. Will be interesting to see how things go for him now.

I remember that draft well. I badly wanted Marvin Harrison and hoped like hell he would fall, but he went half a dozen or so picks ahead of us. We took Moulds and I wasn’t very familiar with him. In a preseason game he caught an over the shoulder pass and smashed through two defenders and I was pumped. But then he was quiet for a few years. I was hoping he’d turn into a Sterling Sharpe type but that never really happened. Instead he was very good with some occasional games where he dominated. I remember that Miami game. He was on fire. I still wish we would have got Harrison, but with no QB it wouldn’t have mattered much!

Damn… okay then. Perhaps most likely to sign back with the Chargers at a bit of a discount… if they’ll even have him. Hmmm…. I just want us to sign someone serviceable for CB2 so we can go BPA in the draft.
