  1. The helmet is neat but should’ve went with a clean white uni. Gray-on-gray isn’t as obnoxious as the Bills blue-on-blue, but it effectively neuters the helmet.
  2. “Josh” needs to work on those soft knees.
  3. I’d bump the Bills to 6. But honestly, 3-8 could be argued in any order. AFC (+AFCE) is a gauntlet.
  4. McDermott game plans for tendencies, scenarios, and personnel packages. There’s a pre-scripted design for what to call and when. I’ll grant there may be a couple plays per game where McDermott would’ve called something entirely different. But McDermott would certainly weigh in on crucial calls. Don’t get me wrong, I can appreciate a fan’s tendency to attach hope to this coaching tweak.
  5. Likely true. But a more practical change will be when McDermott needs to devote extra time in the defensive huddles, he’ll have his right-hand man picking up HC responsibilities.
  6. …more specifically, what being a defensive coach under McDermott can do for you.
  7. It’s been McDermott’s defense all along. If he didn’t like something about the play-calling, he would’ve already addressed it and it wouldn’t require Frazier - a subordinate - leaving to do so.
  8. If the issue involves personal drama and manifests within cliques and on social media, then I’d expect a vet like Morse to both not care and actively avoid it. On the other hand, reporters aren’t “nosey” for pursuing it. It’s their job to break stories and, these days, particularly those the drooling masses will lap up.
  9. Top 2: - Move on from McDermott and Beane. McDermott isn’t a fit for a QB-centric team and gets out-coached in nearly every big spot. Bills are right back in cap jail, in part, due to Beane’s poor drafts. - Devote an entire off-season to revamping the OL with at least 3-4 new (legitimate) starters.
  10. This is standard. You’re only noticing now because it involves a Bills story. At least some of the stories actually reference the source so the reader understands it’s duplicative “reporting.” Also, problems 1 and 2 in the OP are entirely believable.
  11. No idea if/when Miller will return and play effectively. DL, overall, is still more quantity than quality. Edmunds departed and wasn’t replaced. White, Hyde, and Poyer are still major concerns post-injury. Still not sure if there’s a #2 corner on the roster. I’d say the “top 5” rhetoric is a long shot.
  12. It’s not “click bait.” There will be a lot more of this throughout the summer. We may need a single national media thread where posters can work through the fact the Bills aren’t the favorites anymore.
  13. Indeed. Not in the sense of the Bills possibly getting over the hump this season, mind you, but in terms of identifying viable candidates.
  14. Great. But my post addressed the topic of the thread. And your reply offers no actual point other than the typical dose of wishful thinking.
  15. It’s not about being disrespected. They got their respect, became consensus favorites, and failed. This is about other teams improving around them and the Bills plateauing.
  16. I assume he considers Prescott more mature and composed than Allen. Part of Allen’s appeal is he seems fun-loving, but that may not work for everyone. And we know Allen can get rattled under pressure.
  17. Florio said something about the Bills so immediately his credibility becomes the topic. Got it. I’ll weigh in given I didn’t read the OP. He’s analytical, enjoys the fringe topics about league operations, etc. He does often seem to be politically motivated or partial to the conspiracy stuff.
  18. This isn’t a stretch. Rodgers was literally MVP in 2020 and 2021 (and 2011 and 2014).
  19. The thread asks to compare feelings going into '22 vs. '23. McGovern may prove to be an upgrade over Saffold, but that isn't saying much. I don't consider him a viable starter. Very pleased with the Torrence pick, but he's a rook and so sets expectations. The same tackle group is hard to fathom. If Floyd was signed to replace Epenesa then great. But he was signed to replace Miller at least for the short-term. I don't expect Miller to have an impact until late season - if at all. Hyde and Poyer coming off significant injuries and another year older is obviously a worse scenario than a year ago (Poyer didn't get much interest in FA). Rapp - a backup - was my favorite signing of the off-season.
  20. Agreed. It seems fans are still trying to convince themselves additions like McGovern, Harris, Sherfield, Harty, Ford, etc. are impactful. The roster is deeper at certain positions and hopefully a couple rookies can contribute, but overall it feels much the same as last season. Perhaps they get lucky with health issues to counteract the tougher schedule/competition.
  21. QB - same old rollercoaster ride RB - better WR - shuffling deck chairs TE - better OL - shuffling deck chairs DE - worse DT - better LB - worse CB - same old rollercoaster ride S - worse ST - meh Coaching - meh Overall - worse (mostly due to how much AFC peers are improving around them)
  22. I don’t recall if Doug Collins clapped exorbitantly.
