  1. This takes a bit of unknown out of the offense. Too bad. He’s done as a Bill so god speed. Pats would’ve won in Buffalo last year without him.
  2. Fair. If there’s more separation between them then more factors in play. The fact Allen is still gaffe prone after five seasons is a limiting factor. You’d think by now his ball security, decision making, accuracy/touch, and footwork (and composure) would be a little more polished. He’s still a rollercoaster. Fun, no doubt. But still goes off the cliff.
  3. Reaching a Super Bowl is a distinguishing factor in separating the upper echelon. If Hurts is ranked #9-10, I bet his Super Bowl appearance was the trump card over Allen.
  4. This ranking is of the 50 best players. It's not ranking most valuable players to their team.
  5. Indeed. It makes sense that Allen would be outside the top 10 as the #4 ranked player at his position. The Allen/Hurts/Herbert debate is a good one. Mahomes and Burrow are on another level. Allen needs to cut down on the crushing mistakes...and reach a Super Bowl...to achieve elite QB status (as opposed to his current elite athlete status).
  6. It’s business. They simply crunch the numbers as to value vs. distraction. This isn’t “hypocritical”.
  7. People are too hung up on fairness these days. RBs have durability concerns because of the pounding they take. It’s important to have a good one, but they’re expendable because there’s plenty of good ones out there…and usually cheaper, younger, or healthier. It’s isn’t necessarily fair to each one maximizing their financial value. Too bad.
  8. To answer the question, the Bills are more likely missing the playoffs all together than winning the AFC championship. Making the Super Bowl is always a long shot (except for the Chiefs). Better question would’ve been missing the playoffs or reaching the AFC championship. I’d be surprised if the Bills finish outside of 9-11 wins. Call it 10-7 and that’s no guarantee to win the division nor make the playoffs. Dolphins and Jets should both be near that same win range (I think Dolphins take the division).
  9. Nothing wrong with salvaging a shred of value for a player you’re just about to cut.
  10. While Jones is the worst QB of the group, I think Daboll salvages something. Vote Carr.
  11. He has plenty left in the tank. The issues were money demands, reduced practice schedule demands, and leadership/locker room concerns. Still potentially a great signing for the Titans.
  12. Agreed. They’re returning both Dawkins and Brown because of cap necessity. Those two alone could cripple the line. McGovern is a fringe starter forced into added responsibility like Bates last year. Torrence hype is wishful thinking. Nice (no-brainer) pick, but expecting high level/consistent contribution from him this season is a reach. Morse has been terrific, but between age, concussions, and cap hit, he’s no lock. And no center was added. Dawkins-Torrence-Bates-McGovern-Brown is a looming disaster. It would be nice if the OL hinged on the ever-present risk on injuries. That’s expected. But alas, this OL hinges on every starter surpassing past performance to be above average.
  13. Another issue is Allen imploding under pressure, whether by costly turnover, inaccurate throw, or bungled sneak. These sorts of analyses by Bills fans are problematic because they’re often built on the faulty premise that Allen is elite. Elite arm strength and athleticism, sure. But elite QB? No. His inconsistency is part of this problem.
  14. A next-level analysis would need to also look at who, specifically, is getting the money - not just the position group. A player may earn a lucrative extension, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the team had allocated that money for the position, at least philosophically.
  15. This is interesting. Adds valuable perspective to a lot of recent debates. 👍
  16. Based on immediate cap savings of $1M+, the cut candidates this summer are Morse, Hines, Neal, Phillips, Epenesa, Gilliam, and Sherfield.
  17. Not surprised people are entertained by this.
