  1. Gunner, with all due respect and also acknowledging that stats are not the end-all be-all... Garoppolo's career numbers are higher in completion percentage, yards per attempt, TD%, and passer rating. Carr's interception percentage is a bit lower. My point is that I think it's far from clear that Derek Carr is a better QB than Jimmy Garoppolo. Certainly the numbers over a large sample size indicate otherwise.
  2. I'm calling out the following comments: Well I have moved on... Much worse happened to Josh when q of the the jets sat on his head from behind and fell on him If his team won he wouldn't have anything to say. who's hoisted more Lombardis, Davante, you or Rapp? Adams was also playing in garbage time. Just sayin' Dude’s trying to make a living. Don’t try to pad your stats in garbage time against the guys you’re making fun of who play in garbage time. So can Damar do it? Or would he lose too many endorsements? I miss the days when safeties were able to punish WRs. I don't even understand how my opinion of the play is relevant. I'm commenting on those who are "reasoning" that the hit was justified. None of these people are saying the hit wasn't dirty. They're saying it was justified.
  3. HEY!!! All these airplane stories are hijacking the thread.
  4. Reminds me of the time my buddy scheduled his wedding on an October Sunday. He and his wife did eventually forgive me but it took a few years.
  5. You have moved on... okay I guess that settles it. And what's the relevance of what happened to Josh against the Jets? And you know this how? This is relevant in what way? So that justifies a dirty hit? Actually if it's garbage time doesn't that make the hit less forgivable? Wow. Really interesting thought process here. I'm not understanding your point? Do you understand your point? I guess you enjoy fights in hockey and crashes in NASCAR too? I can't remember the last topic that had so many disappointing takes...
  6. The fairly widely-held belief that Josh is inaccurate is one of the laziest takes out there and one which shows that a person is not watching the games. It's actually been very obvious for a long time that if Josh chose to (or was coached to) that he could execute a Brady-type, quick timing, horizontal attack flawlessly. In that mode he flicks his wrist like he's throwing darts at a dart board. He's virtually unstoppable. In Josh's best season (2020) he completed 69.2% of his throws. In 23 seasons, Brady's highest completion percentage was 68.9%
  7. This made me laugh. There are some excellent posters here who think that facts like "27-year old Josh Allen has 5 career games with 3 Pass TDs while completing at least 80% of his passes... the most before turning 30 in NFL history" have no value. I believe their argument is that you can arrange a cluster of data points in a way as to misrepresent a player's abilities. I disagree for the most part. For one thing how many NFL QBs have thrown 3 TD passes while completing over 80% of their passes even once? Doing it one time is a great accomplishment in my mind.
  8. How about the week after that?
  9. Mini Marvs 72 Washington 0 I feel like sword play would entail a lot of heavy breathing... sweating too.
  10. That's a healthy physical activity for couples. One way or the other someone's gonna lose some pounds... always good to get the blood flowing. Yeah, whereas the Commanders might have a deeper WR corps, Garrett Wilson stands well above any individual WR on either team. It depends on the size of the booth and the size of the men... sometimes it seems they're uncomfortably close. I sometimes wonder if their thighs are touching.
  11. Just evaluating Watson as a player, it's hard to believe that just one year off could cause that much decline in his game... and he's had plenty of time to shake off the rust... but he doesn't appear to be the same player. He actually reminds me of Daunte Culpepper: good athlete, very smooth, stronger and faster than you think, but really lacking that quick twitch. He seems a bit lethargic in every physical act. I'm pretty sure the Steelers were trash talking mercilessly. I think that had a lot to do with the two facemasks and the pushing of the official.
  12. There's just no way the Globetrotters are gonna lost to the Washington Generals... no way. It's happened only 3 times in over 2500 games... ain't gonna happen. How long is your layover in Denver? Also, business class?
  13. I believe you're correct... McDermott's Bills have been very consistent performance-wise... with only a few exceptions. It's kind of a semantic thing... what if we call it a "possible upset?"
  14. Reasons for concern that this could be a trap game: Bills play Dolphins in week 4 Eric Bienemy appears to be doing a good job as Commanders new OC QB Sam Howell is a playmaking athlete Good offensive skill position weapons in RB Brian Robinson, and WRs Jahan Dotson, Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel (I think TE Logan Thomas won't play) Good defensive talents in edge rushers Montez Sweat, Chase Young, LB Jamin Davis, stout DTs Daron Payne, Jonathan Allen, and S Kamren Curl Commanders are at home Commanders are 2-0 Bills always have a target on their back All that said, if the Bills play up to their capabilities they should win without too much suspense... but this is also a game the Bills could lose if they're not focused.
  15. In every way, D Watson is a POS. He and Haslam deserve each other. The ball was not only uncatchable, he shouldn't have thrown it to a covered receiver.
  16. I appreciate your reply and understand your point but these data clusters (unless they're negative ones) never seem to bring up the names of ordinary players. They always seem to put the subject in good company. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't remember any exceptions to this.
  17. One possible achilles heel for this team is the age... particularly on defense... Hyde, Poyer, Von Miller, Leonard Floyd. I hope the Bills have the opportunities during the season to spot in the younger players and keep some of the mileage off these guys.
  18. Lowell George had an ignominious end. True but for a mentally fragile person, such a cocktail could cause permanent psychological trauma. Mixing many and large amounts of drugs is not for the faint of heart or mind. I sent you a direct message. Thank you.
  19. To the bolded, yes Don Shula seemed to let Marino walk all over him. This is really strange considering that Shula was considered the Lombardi of his era, hard nosed, strong-willed, etc. Little-known fact, in Shula's first 2 Super Bowl wins as Head Coach, Bob Griese threw the ball a total of 18 times... total... in 2 games. Fast forward to Dan Marino and suddenly they're throwing the ball 30 times a game with the same coach. It begs the question of how meaningful these data clusters are and what if anything they say about the player.
  20. You don't really understand this particular situation... but you're starting to. 😜
  21. Great take and what I thought when we signed him. I've been watching football for a pretty long time. I remember what Ottis Anderson did to the Bills in Super Bowl XXV... 21 carries 102 yards and a TD... and punishing Mark Kelso and others... setting a tone. Some old timers might remember the running backs Chuck Muncie and George Rogers... size, speed, and toughness. These are the types of backs that Latavius Murray compares to. He's really a great addition to this team.
  22. So is virtually everything that's discussed on this forum.
  23. Exactly. It wasn't until after Murray got snaps that Cook started playing at a higher level. Harris looked excellent on that kickoff return. I didn't think of him as a guy who could help us in the return game but he looked very comfortable and competent on that play. The beauty of this game wasn't the win or the margin of the win. It was that everything the Bills contemplated for their offseason moves came to fruition. The specific roles of each player played out exactly as they forsaw. The upgrades at both guard positions enabled them to run the ball effectively and create a stronger interior pocket. Their faith in Gabriel Davis was rewarded. Kincaid is doing exactly what they wanted from him. Cook has made the next step in his development. Latavius and Damien Harris have made exactly the contributions they were expected to make. Leonard Floyd has been an excellent addition and Greg Rousseau is fulfilling his promise. Terrell Bernard has allayed most of the concerns about his suitability for the position. The only players who haven't yet met expectations are Harty and Sherfield but they'll always be on the fringe, competing for touches with Shakir. Clearly after last season there was a lot of self-scouting and honest soul searching by McBeane. The team they envisioned during the offseason came into sharp focus today and that (and Josh's play) was what I was most happy about.
  24. The part about "accommoded" was an attempt at humor. I assumed it was a voice to text error. And yes, the bolded was my point exactly: No one here knows if he asked for a different seat although many people criticizing Spikes have decided that he didn't.
