Two features of modern day sports packages that I particularly despise are people who feel it's necessary to physically gesticulate and/or mime the action... and those who can't speak at a normal volume and think that by shouting, they're somehow more convincing.

eball, it's a matter of degree. Sports is sports because sometimes the underdog wins. It happens SOMETIMES. That's why they play the games. The fact of you making an absolute statement "doesn't happen" (bolded above) makes you wrong because of the exceptions to the rule. Witness the week 3 loss by the Cowboys to the Cardinals. After losing in the first two weeks to the Commanders and the Giants people were saying that they were tanking so they could draft Caleb Williams. The Cardinals were an 11 point underdog. They beat Dallas by 12 points. Said Dallas Star Micah Parsons, "The last two weeks we were on fire and today we came out and we got lit. … We got to take on every game like it’s the Super Bowl. We got to play up to our standard. We can’t play down to (our opponent), and that’s what I felt like we did today." There are absolutely trap games where a team underestimates their opponent. It doesn't happen often but it does happen occasionally.

Last week, Josh completed passes to 8 different receivers. In the two games before last week he completed passes to 9 different receivers. He will hurt you with and without Diggs.

eball, with all due respect, we've all seen plenty of NFL games where a favored team underestimated and lost to an inferior team. These games are often accompanied by postgame interviews by the losing team admitting as much. In sports it does occasionally happen that the better team loses because they didn't take their opponent seriously enough. Anyone who has followed sports has seen this.

Well... he was named to be a cornerback... Even decades after decriminalization and there's still those people... I give up, why?

Now I'm thinking you're also a Ham or shortwave radio operator.

Exactly no one would argue that since McDermott took over in 2017, that this current Bills team: Protects their own QB better Blocks for the running game better Pressures the opposing QB better The Bills aren't going to win in the trenches in every game but it seems to me that they're going to win most of the time.

Charter flights are listed? That's very interesting because I could see an argument for both ways.
-
When McDermott arrived in Buffalo, almost the first thing he said was "You have to win up front." On innumerable occasions since then he's repeated some variation of that same message. If he has one basic tenet about football, that might be the one.

Do you happen to be agoraphobic? Just wondering.

Because of the "Trap Game Police" we're no longer allowed to use that terminology. If you want to convey that concept you have to refer to it as "a possible upset game." If you want to expand on the concept you're allowed to say things like "the Bills could possibly let their guard down" or some such language. Nudes of... the fellas? I wonder when the last time it was that the Bills took a commercial flight. Wait till after the game when everyone starts wondering when they'll be "stateside." 6:30 am start here in Cali... beer in my Rice Krispies!!!

Great post... thank you Shaw. IMO this team is better than the 2021 team which should have gone to the Super Bowl.

A Few Thoughts About the Dolphins Game, in no particular order
Sierra Foothills replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, in spite of the resounding blowout the Bills still left some meat on the bone. This O-line and Defense is the best of the McDermott era which means that this is the best Bills team of the McDermott era,,, better than the 13 seconds team for sure. -
I'm not gonna post in your topic if you're gonna be angry and use swear words.

Shut up stupid face!!! Let's try to stick to football. You leave @Ethan in Cleveland out of this! Shouldn't your last name also start with a "J"? Wrong forum...

And after Dorsey is hired away as a Head Coach.

IMO there are always players who transcend the value of their position. I'm hoping O'Cyrus Torrence will be one of the great draftees in recent Bills history and thinking he's well on that path. Con(n)or has been a very solid addition. I'm liking Van Demark and Anderson too. I like going with younger guys with upside as opposed to retreads. This appears to be the Bills best O-line in many years.

The Quarterback Push Play and Josh Allen

Yes. It was mentioned in the 5th post on this topic... and a few times afterwards. -

The Quarterback Push Play and Josh Allen
Sierra Foothills replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Following up on this topic, 2 significant developments in the "QB Push Play" popularized by the Eagles: Justin Herbert and the Chargers attempted it today and failed... in a crucial late-game situation. The Bills executed what might have been the first-ever "Reverse QB Push Play." Josh handed the ball to James Cook and then followed him into the line of scrimmage. Cook was initially stonewalled and it was clearly Josh's push which made the difference. Nance/Romo commented on the play and mused that this might be the first time ever and that it could cause a copy cat trend. I have misgivings about the QB Push Play because no matter how low the QB gets, there's always a chance that a defensive player will take a cheap shot at the QB. With a player like Josh Allen, I'm uneasy about taking that risk. I could see a further development in the Reverse QB Push Play where Latavius Murray or one of the RBs shifts under center into the Wildcat spot and Josh pushes him in... it's the next logical step. -
Ja’Mar Chase: “I’m open. I’m always ****ing open”
Sierra Foothills replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thank you. Yes, there's a lot of good energy between our teams and cities that started with the Dalton to Boyd TD that beat the Ravens and gave McDermott his first playoff berth as Bills coach... and the ensuing donations to Dalton's charity. I appreciated Zack Taylor's humanity when Damar went down. I always want to beat our rivals but harbor no ill will towards the Bengals. -
And when he tries to do too much he hurts the team.

An interesting quirk in today's NFL Schedule: Denver 0-3 @ Chicago 0-3 Minnesota 0-3 @ Carolina 0-3 These are the NFL's last 4 winless teams.
