[Vague Title] Let's Not Forget...
TampaBillsJunkie replied to Awwufelloff's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well as Fan Duel has taught me, sometimes you are just off a little and it costs you. Had I played Hurts as my MVP instead of Kelce, I would have won a million dollars. But instead I won $8. That's Buffalo in a nutshell. -

Horrible. No more words -
Daboll/Hodgins - Does their success bother you?
TampaBillsJunkie replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Daboll's success doesn't bother me. I can't help but root fro a hometown Frannie boy. I wish he would have stayed in Buffalo and won a Super Bowl here before leaving. I'm happy for Hodgins too, but piseed at the Bills brass for doing all the development and then letting him go for nothing. He may not have proved everything, but he proved something. And I remember his first training camp. He looked better than Gabe, but got injured and it's been an uphill battle ever since. I just wish he would have gotten to the top of the hill in Buffalo. -
How do the Bills win the Super Bowl next year?
TampaBillsJunkie replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
1. Get Healthy-Stay Healthy for the entire run. 2. Protect Allen - revamp OL 3. Get one more weapon on offense 4. Revamp the defense into a more aggressive scheme that puts pressure on the QB. Be able to do it with or without Von. -
How did the Patriots maintain a top team for 17 years?
TampaBillsJunkie replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sounds like KC's road lately. I thought the AFC West was going to be tough, but its 2nd worst in the AFC. Both AFC/NFC South was a joke. -
Josh = Phil Rivers (just messenger)
TampaBillsJunkie replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall
No I didn't. I said it was Mahomes and Burrow getting the spotlight as the 2 top dogs in the AFC. Last year it was Josh and Mahomes, this year it is Joe Cool being considered the front runner behind Mahomes. I could care less about golf. Josh likes it so I hope he has a good time. the Pro Bowl isn't worth it anymore. -

Check most major sports news organization. And a good portion of those QB Power Ranking sites. Even NFL.com has it ranked pretty close to what I said. https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-qb-index-ranking-all-32-teams-primary-starting-quarterbacks-at-the-end-of-th https://qbrankings.theringer.com https://fansided.com/2022/12/28/nfl-quarterback-rankings-week-17-patrick-mahomes-mvp/ Ouch! https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/greg-cote/article270952902.html QBR- Allen is at #12 https://www.espn.com/nfl/qbr SI has Allen as #3 but this was before we lost to Cincinnati. Most rankings that have Allen ahead of Burrow were from before the season started. https://www.si.com/nfl/bills/news/buffalo-espn-quarterback-ranking-josh-allen-aaron-rodgers-tom-brady -

TampaBillsJunkie replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall
Last year, it was Allen and Mahomes. This year it's Burrow and Mahomes and for obvious reasons. CIN/KC was the AFC Championship 2 years in a row. Until we get there, the pecking order has changed. Josh is #3 Hurts is #4, Herbert is #5. #4 and #5 are rising and #3 has been descending. Some will say Hurts is now #3, especially if they win the SB. For physical gifting and upside, Josh is a clear #1. I believe part of Josh's descent was his OC, as evidenced by Daboll's work with Jones. It's going to take work and a revamped offense to climb back up, but the joy is we have a Top#5 QB and it's been a long, long time since Buffalo has been afforded that luxury. -
Scouts, Scheme, Evolution, free agency, and a Hands-Off Coach
TampaBillsJunkie replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Excellent write up Virgil. I'm with you 98% and I did miss the weekly reports. You always have a good analytical take on the game and you are spot on with the scouting. Something is amiss. But, I'm in the Keerie camp on Edmunds too. There's something about "long" athletic guys that they want in this defense. Which is probably why they went with Elam at CB. Being able to cover and get your arms up and around somebody is vital now that contact is so limited in the passing game. Edmunds has room to get a lot better. He's young. He just needs a bit more mental recognition and killer instinct for tackling. Where I am 100% with you is the dire need for a scheme change on defense. We need more press coverage, taking WR's out of their routes early as well as more pressure to the QB and disguising where that pressure is coming from. The offense needs some tuning up as we all know from the whopping 10 we tagged on the Bengals D. Thanks for your insight and coverage on the Bills. Hopefully we circle the wagons. -
This is why we need a closer at DE and a LB who can blanket the best tight ends. Add a #2 WR, true #1RB and sprinkle me in a little RG/LG action and we are ready to make a run. But alas, that is a tall order to fulfill in one off-season with our cap situation. Beaner needs an A+ draft and some cap flexibility to pull off this magic trick. Oh, if by some chance all the magic comes true, we better get more out of Dorsey and Frazier better get aggressive on D or we are going to suffer the same bitter ending.

You want to overpay Saffold and Huntley and a host of other players who do not deserve Pro Bowl cred. They are there because 4,5,6 guys ahead of them bowed out because it's a joke of a game. And I'm not talking about escalators, I'm talking about guaranteed money and extensions where an agent would try to use it to drive up the price.

Purdy torn UCL out 6 months, seeking 2nd opinion
TampaBillsJunkie replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think it was luck. I think it was strength, particularly arm strength. I've seen Purdy's hit multiple times and it's pretty much identical to Josh's. Same angle, same type of force on the elbow. I believe the difference was Josh was strong enough not to have his elbow snap all the way back. Josh's throwing motion was still moving forward as he was hit. Purdy's was pushed back a lot farther causing the tear. -
Just a suggestion to help out the current affairs.

And even if he could catch out of the backfield, not much of a chance Dorsey calls the play. Hines should have had at least 30+ REC this year. -
Dawkins, Saffold and Knox added to Pro Bowl

So 3 of our 5 terrible OL are in the Pro Bowl. WTF. Resign them now -
Your Offseason Upgrades to the OLine

Oh, like Wyatt Teller. -
I think Marvin Jones would make a good #2. He's in the 5-6m range. Agholor, Myers, Chark and JuJu would all be solid #2's if we could get them in the cap.

Why isn't Frazier interviewing for Head Coaching positions?
TampaBillsJunkie replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because he is not that good. The Bills have one of the most talented defenses in the league, riddled with first round picks, especially on the DL. Yet we get no pressure on the QB and good teams and coaching scheme around us. I just don't think Frazier is HC material. And neither is Dorsey. I don't mind if we bring in someone fresh to maximize our talents on offense and defense. I didn't think we'd miss Daboll so much, but we did. -
Agreed. We all saw what happened when Morse was out. He's the glue and the brains of the line. Better guard play and a solid right tackle would do wonders for Josh and the run game.

Bills will not make it to the playoffs in 2023?
TampaBillsJunkie replied to Cygnus99's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a tough schedule. Jets/Dolphins/Patriots will be on the rise. Pats have a ton of cap space. Jets have been drafting really well. Dolphins on the cusp. The division is not a gimme. Then games against NFC East. All solid teams. There's no give me games against perennially weak teams. I think we will be between 8-11 wins depending on health and retaining 50% of our guys and making minor adjustments. Getting to 12-14 wins will take some really great drafting to fill holes and the rooks taking a step up in year two. We need next level play from our investments in the DL and most likely a scheme change to play to their strengths. On offense, we need to progress, not regress and rebuild the trenches. Someone needs to level Allen out and balance this offense. And we need a strong #2 WR to compliment Diggs like Higgins compliments Chase. I'll call him a #1B and he is not on this roster. 2021 we got the bounces (until 13 sec) and we stayed relatively healthy. 2022 was a storm of adversity. We need 2023 to be more like 2021. This team in its present form can improve and win a Super Bowl or regress and be a 6 or 7 seed or just out of the playoffs. -
I liked Schwartz too.
