  1. Depends first and foremost on whether Fitz wants to get into coaching and is he into x's and o's as far as putting together a gameplan to attack such and such defenses. If he's moving on from playing what does he want to pursue? His degree I believe is in Finance so he may just wish to dabble in investing his saved earnings thus far which I'd expect he has quite a nest egg from just his longevity in the league and earning a decent paycheck even as just a stopgap insurance player/bridge qb. Then again he has seen alot of defenses he'd be invaluable as even as a rookie qb coach or just make him a special assistant to Josh Allen. So if he asked about an entry towards a coaching career I'd find him a spot if I were McD.
  2. Simple solution going forward. Make it that x player on ST always talks to bass before each KO to if uts being drilled out of EZ or is it a shorter kick to pin them deep. In any season there's enough variation to have that easily become routine.
  3. Very well may decide he rather walk away now and not risk further concussions. He's already at higher risk of developing the medical issues from concussions later in life. Who knows how many symptoms he exhibited when he's been recovering from concussions he's had. I rather a player err on side of caution when it pertains to their long term health. Having just welcomed his new son he may have priority to his family then the game of football. Wish him the best if that's what he decides. And at least if that is his decision the Bills have been made aware early enough to have all avenues to replace him. FA or draft if they feel good their on some prospects.
  4. I think he's saying we may lose him because as use another team that needs a returner/wr may offer him a larger role on their team. Alot more young quarterbacks that need some experienced wrs to help them develop -- while he might be welcomed to sign in Buffalo at a rate lower than he's offered elsewhere it becomes a question of what's in his best interest based of what he values most. For all we know Mckenzie may decide he prefers his restaurant in Miami and decides he's gonna walk away from the game. Or he may decide he wants to play longer and sees what other teams offer him and he may see if buffalo can at least offer close to that and he stays with buffalo. As for the narrative that he may feel disrespected and signs elsewhere expecting better opportunities. Perhaps, then again the whole benching him after the fumble may have been to give impression the staff didn't value Mckenzie and when he got targeted often in ne they seemed not to adjust to him like they didn't expect he'd be targeted as he was. Theres also other equally talented fast young wr who may decide they want to play with JA cause he has put enough on tape to see he's a elite qb that can carry a team. So Bills may have a larger number of players that are competing for the chance to play in Buffalo. They improve the oline to be the strongest unit then everything else on O looks better. You have the best wr but with a weak oline you may never get much use of the best wrs so wasting resources.
  5. The home away splits are already set so the fact we playing in Kc again isn't some conspiracy.
  6. Yea I caught that too I just gave the Op credit he meant to say older not younger.
  7. Perhaps he'd never have managed to get the Bills to getting the no 1 pick for Peyton but he'd likely have kept drafting enough talent to avoid a 17 yr drought.
  8. As a fan of the Bills isn't it just that much nicer when the Bills win the SB and no one can say they weren't the best team in the playoffs. And I guarantee next year there won't be any pro bowl snubs for our players.
  9. Bill Polian became GM in Carolina then GM in Indy and won a SB with Peyton Manning. I believe the biggest reason for the drought was Ralph firing Polian. If he was still bringing in draft talent maybe we would have drafted Peyton since Polian drafted him for the Colts. And then maybe NE never dominates for 2 decades. Maybe Peyton/Brady in same division their h2h games mirror Kelly/Marino. Change a few things we avoid the drought.
  10. True Beanes better at wheeling and dealing than Whaley was. Point is Terry didn't insist on the player he liked. Don't know if Mahomes would have been as good if he came to Buffalo. Terry let his football people make the decisions but obviously Terry is a football fan but he supports his front office people even when he didn't hire Whaley just got him as part of the team he bought.
  11. All the more telling that when Pegula was in favor of grabbing Mahomes but he didn't demand his gm draft him but rather allowed Beane and McD to draft as they have. Of course it does help when you hired a competent gm and coach to run and build the team.
  12. Yea it is but the 2022 NFL season starts in Sept not Jan. This is still the 2021 season and even if op counts this as 2022 Houston didn't just enter the league in 2022. I know the Bills have been bad at winning in recent times but even they don't lose to a team that wasn't in the league a couple playoff seasons ago. I mean how did the Bills lose the wildcard game to a Houston team that wasn't in the league???
  13. Huh?? Houston entered the league next year? They've been in the league alot longer than that. Yea they entered the league 2002, not some time in the future that isn't here yet.
  14. Hey it be fun to have the Jonathan Dorenbos show up for a pre-season game to lead the charge. Then he and Josh could setup some little magic show for the kids at Oshei.
  15. The players are human, there will always be good and bad days. That's just life. It matters how they've responded. Some teams will start to press and lose some trust, early JK Bills had a lull as they started bickering amongst all their egos. Current Bills are just well synchronized so I guess makes it feel like they are automatons not people. The hiccups in the games we lost are just part of the synchronization that was needed to make this team Championship Caliber. And it's looking very likely to be built for long term success so now and then a little tinkering is done when parts are replaced or new plays are added to have multiple wrinkles. Big part of JK Bills was they could line up in a formation and it could be run or pass and both were equally effective so when they added no huddle that kept defenses off balance. Easier to knock over opponents when you keep them off balance. This team just seems to know when to really get everything going in the same direction. They don't give up because the guys all around them aren't giving up so thats very tough for opposing teams to stop. They really are playing complementary football. Offense and defense and also they are multiple in threats passing and running. Passes go to both WRs and TEs. Running can be RB or JA who's got some serious running skills and he doesn't shy away from contact but is very aware of when its time to slide or get out of bounds. When everything works they really stress the opponents defense until it cracks and lately they be cracking early and often. Our offense gives our defense plenty of rest on top of their rotation that keeps them fresh and then that makes the opponents more 1 dimensional. I'm still expecting we are gonna see a few new plays as we move on thru the playoffs. I'm even expecting that the Bills are gonna make it look relatively easy more often than not but now and then they might have a bad day, but these guys support each other so most lil miscues don't become factors. I can take the regular season hiccups since they seem to have eliminated many. Right now all that matters is the game to be played and luckily the team isn't looking at past mistakes beyond knowing how to avoid repeating them. If you wanna dwell on the losses why not just start with the first game of the drought era it'll give you plenty to worry about and occupy your time for close to a year if you just watch 1 game a day till Joshs' first game. Just in time to catch next year's playoffs when its time for the Bills to defend their title and starting a parallel legacy as the 90s Bills but I'm expecting 4 wins and then continued success.
  16. And all the offensive players that didn't commit some penalty to mess up a drive. This type of game only has a chance of happening when every player is on the same page. And even then the other team will usually at very least get a lucky stop or break.
  17. Maybe the KC fans think the Bills deserve the home field advantage? You know those KC fans that say they will believe Allen is better than Mahomes only when they see it with their own 2 eyes and by selling their tickets they can still be in denial if Allen does outplay Mahomes.
  18. They would play the games with the backup qbs. Unless a team had so many positives they don't have the players to field a team. I'd imagine it would take a serious outbreak for that many positives to show up and at that point a football game would be of less concern than having a catastrophic outbreak.
  19. Simple they ended up as the higher seed in the conference.
  20. Yea but Brady went 5hru the NFC to reach the SB don't think he could get thru the AFC teams last year playing how he did during the playoff games.
  21. Nah Josh allen will launch a rocket lob that gives him time to run to corner EZ to catch it thereby exceeding Brady who can't throw the ball and catch it himself without it being a batted ball. First pass a qb targets himself as the intended target.
  22. Agree! There's no qb I'd take over Josh Allen -- I think he's a perfect fit for Buffalo. I think it does matter how a player fits into the community around his team. When you live and work in a place you enjoy its gonna show in the results of your work. You can keep your Mahomes, Brady, Rodgers. Yes all are mvp quality nfl Qb talents but I'll take Allen all day over them even if he never wins a SB. Find it highly unlikely Allen will not win multiple SBs, but until he does it that's always a possibility.
  23. Not that odd. Ownership may like what they see from how the Bills have rebuilt around a franchise qb. Knowing how to add pieces around a talented young qb is gonna give Daboll alot of interviews. He'll have his choice of jobs I'm sure.
  24. Wonder how much that has to do with their ownership. Seems when in San Diego with talent and decent coaching they still underperformed. Could be they don't put in the resources for good S&C. Gotta hand it to the Pegulas they don't overlook helping keep the players in great shape. That helps keep our guys at their optimum abilities.
