  1. Indeed. The real problem is when the same infraction occurs in the plain sight of same official and they don't call the same penalty. When you know its an obvious no call maybe because of some personal bias between ref and player. Refs never seeing holds of varying degrees on Jerry Hughes comes to mind. I don't recall all the exact details of that beef Jerry blew up against refs years ago. But apparently the refs still remember if no call freq was studied we'd likely find Hughes gets a larger non call on obv holding against him. Its like those pictures where everyone sees different images it's just all dependent on your viewing angle and what jumps out at you initially. But if you look at it from other angles you see the other images. Also remember the refs hear alot of trash talk that we do not they may sense a mood thats re as dy to ignite if things get chippy they may get heavy handed with penalties to prevent a bigger problem.
  2. And its just bound to get worse with the leagues partnering with sports betting. Bottom line NFL wants to grab as much cash out of its fans pockets as they can. If you truly want pure sport than you'd have to watch no higher than High school level and even that can get cloudy as there are big stakes in scholarships to the top athletes.
  3. Its not 200k per game it is avg 205k per year. Per game they'd be making over 3 million per year if they got 200k per game, thats higher than vet minimum.
  4. I think its just because king of the north sounds better than king of the east for Josh Allen. Its just a Stark difference to my ears at least.
  5. Luckily we have a coaching staff that has the right approach. Yes they lost last year, so the beef they had was with themselves and not getting the job done. This year they will push themselves to not fall short again. Doesnt matter if its Henry on the other side, if their not wearing the Bills colors they aren't getting a free pass. So bring it. Oh and running up the score well they just go about doing their jobs and score is totally dependent on how often they can stop these Bills. Teams playing our Bills have to score against the #1 defense in multiple areas, and if they manage that they also better be able to stop the #1 offense and they haven't even taken it out for a test drive. At the moment its like they have just been revving the engine waiting for the right time to open full throttle and blast thru the remainder of the season with no apologies as we claim that lombardi.
  6. I agree that alot of fans seem to be taking some of these games a bit to personally. The Bills don't need to play angry they just play focused and their natural abilities shine. I think this team has that mentality of give us your best shot and then you better duck. They are confident but alert to prevent let downs. They will play with a physical edge if the opponents think they can intimidate the Bills. And when opponents look over at our players off or def there are 2 or more big dudes that they won't wanna be messing with. Don't think gronk would get away with that dirty hit on white with this team. I think this team just studies their next opponent well and has the right plan and skillsets to get the job done by being calm and calculating. No anger needed.
  7. We'll be our usual obnoxious selves, the fans that rub it in that Lamarr got concussion by donating to his charity and obnoxiously raising over 1 mil for oshei in honor of Patricia Allen. Josh is known as somewhat of a trash talker on the field. Doesnt seem he has many enemies in the after game handshakes seems he's very well liked. Mafia might talk a little trash now then but overwhelmingly in a good natured way so I think we retain our basic personality.
  8. I think it really depends on how they conduct themselves once they keep on winning. No one likes smug attitudes of superiority even if its irrefutable - like the recent KC - Buffalo game. Everyone knows Bills have never beat Mahomes and they can't handle the crowd noise in Arrowhead. Mahomehs in press conference stated at one point We know we have what it takes to be great. Just comes across as he believes all the hype how he's already heading to the HoF. So far he's managed to break some NFL records has some jewelry some awards. But no way to know how his full career plays out. In many ways, imho, I think he's actually behind Josh Allen. I don't think Pat reads defenses as well as Josh. He certainly didn't need to as he was wowing the league with unconventional play. Now he has to read and then beat coverage with even just steady regular qb plays he isn't getting it done. He has to figure it out. He's been figured out. Josh took 3 years to get to this point where he has multiple ways to beat whatever coverage they throw at him. He doesn't get rattled or bored grinding it out thats how he learned the past 3 years to where he's now figured it out. And now all the other 31 teams have to try and figure him and the team behind him out. I think however long it takes it still will be fun to watch for any NFL fans.
  9. Maybe he was actually advised to lose weight and then with bills training staffs devised plan to get into this slimmed down shape that's healthier to maintain. Opting out may have just been great timing on reshaping his physique. Looks like he's more apt to be healthier in present form and hasn't lost his strength.
  10. Go with a Mafia theme? Gangsters of Buffalo And relaunch the Ball Burglars to raise funds for a hit list of children's charities.
  11. I'm sure something they do will trigger the perfect nickname they are just beginning their reign of terror. Lets give it a few more weeks of excellent play and see if anything pops out.
  12. Yea I wanted to make it very subtle. What can I say I'm a baker's daughter I have a 'rye' sense of humor.
  13. Ownership got it right fairly quickly and they didn't hesitate to cut loose from Wrecks and even paying him the remainder of his unearned contract. I just wonder who they had advising them on the list of potential HC's. Does anyone remember the list of who they interviewed?
  14. I rather the defense has the rest that the secondary needs so letting the offense just plod a bit to give the d rest. Dl we got enough to rotate without a long rest, secondary isn't as deep though cupboard isn't bare. Josh can make the splash plays when needs to but enjoys watching his defense play lights out best seats in house right on the sideline.
  15. People seem to forget that Ralph was born in 1918 so he was 11 years old when the Great Depression hit. He grew up in conditions similar or worse than the players who today came from poverty or some other disadvantage. So to Ralph he loved sports and Football but it was never considered to be more than entertainment and friendly competition. Wasn't gonna solve world problems. The first SB Bills played in, the country was just in the midst of Desert Storm. You think a game was more important to a Ww2 vet then a new war that we were fighting with lives on the line. Ralph had different priorities of where he preferred to spend his money. Doesn't matter if you agree or disagree with those priorities. I think WNY and Detroit both benefitted greatly by his priorities.
  16. Lol someone using the term winner typically means the common definition of the word not your version with its stipulations. Most people can articulate any stipulations to be clearly understood. Apparently you like to dictate the usage of words around your definitions. Feel free to do so with your statements nut you haven't the right to impose your stipulations for anyone else. Many people have definitions that don't line up with say Webster's dictionary but when they do they usually will add footnote to point out the variation from normal. When anyone deviates from the commonly accepted definition then its up to that person to clarify the deviation they ascribe to that words meaning. To not do so by default means they defer the meaning to the common definition. Otherwise no one could understand one another if we all just made up our own meanings.
  17. Don't know his Hs career stats he was a multiple sport athlete. I'm sure some of his teams were winners at their level. Otherwise his drive to win isn't worth much if it never propelled him or his teams. I'd say he's driven to succeed and he drags along his teammates. Josh Allen is the dog that's pulling the Bills wagons in a circle or heading to the location of the next game. And you can see all the team jumping in line with him to make that journey easier to reach the final destination.
  18. I think its because McD and Beane share this philosophy for building a successful team that's sustainable. Give a man a fish he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime. Its no coincidence that McD says stay humble and hungry. Bills sure do feast on the Dolphins quite regularly under McD. Things that make you go hmmm....
  19. Likely played out like this. Whaley: Here's our scouting reports on players that match your criteria. And pro scouting reports on FAs. Sean grabs a list from his briefcase and says here a list of Free Agents I want to interview set them up and if you can get me a ballpark figure what contract terms they are looking for. So yea they made the calls set up the interviews that McD conducted and processed. They were signed as directed by McD they had no stake in the decision. Just had the scouting reports however good or bad they were. The whole scouting staff was also purged could be the reports by the Bill's scouts then were off by a wide margin on some players McD may have known professionally so would give him a idea how much stock those reports held. Not sure if Beane rehired any of the prior scouts. Just shows McD does his due diligence he's not one that wants to be catered to he finds that serving is more rewarding. He likely had his own draft board setup and then Doug Whaley went by that with input from McD if needed during the draft. Not sure if there's any draftroom video of the first draft under McD. At least we get to see those videos now since Beane took over. They may filter some video, but generally they seem to be pretty transparent after the fact. Can't tip hand who they wanna draft before with transparency.
  20. Mario in the years before Rex was worth the contract easily. Once Rex wrecked Bills defense then his play dropped off.
  21. Yes I rather have Allen who had that string of commercials before one of the earlier games. Was the Buffalo Wild Wings, then a Oshei Children's Hospital Patricia Allen Foundation commercial and then some west herr Tasker/Allen car commercials. Allen's charity work is known league wide thanks to the publicity generated by Bills Mafia's donations and creation of the Patricia Allen Wing at Oshei. Its not a gimmick to milk the publicity, as Allen has worked with Super Cade even before he was a first round draft pick of the Bills. And Allen was dealing with a big personal loss.. and Bills Mafia takes Bills loses personally. And prior to that his family's track record in community enrichment in supporting local schools. Buffalo may be one of the smallest NFL cities but it it by far the most BIG-hearted. Let Mahomes and Rodgers rep the Just like a good neighbor state farm. I'd rather have our Josh Allen who fits right in here in the City of Good Neighbors. If he hits his car with a overthrown dart in his backyard and smashes his windshield he may just call west herr directly and they fix his windshield on the house part of the perks doing those commercials.
  22. Also don't forget that the climate in Arizona is probably better for an older player who may have past injuries that cold humid conditions could effect him even if otherwise healthy. For all we know cold effects him even now at past injury locations. So the climate may have been a big factor in his choice, it wouldn't be something he'd need to share if it were.
  23. Also why do es anyone need to quantify to the extent of greatEST, I would rather have 2 great coaches then needing to put them in a specific order. I might flip flop between them depending on criteria du jour. I guess that makes me decidedly on the pro analytics side. And i also go with Marv as my all time favorite Bills coach at this time. Sean hasn't finished his tenure yet to have a comparison he certainly is trending up at a steep pace.. However as I view Allen as my best ever Bills Qb over Kelly right now (based purely on athletic talent, Jim was good just can't outdo the CA nutty farm boy that is Josh Allen. I know JA isn't really a nutty farm boy yet. They say it takes a few years to get the first crop after planting his pistachio trees but its on its way. So I recognize that rating the coaches is gonna be skewed by the players that they coached as well as any accomplishments as far as wins, division titles, conference titles and ultimately SB titles. So no way to really judge best on purely ability as the variables are too influential for accuracy. This is in my humble and hungry opinion. Still no place I'd rather be than right here, right now. No Buffalo tables were harmed while making this opinion.
  24. Yea almost like he was checked out last year. I understand he missed every defensive line meeting too last year. It got so bad they didn't even write him a game check once last year! Guess the missed meeting fines no game checks woke him up a bit so he's more noticeable as he tries to regain his lunch money. He couldn't afford to eat as well last year missing all those game checks. You can see the weight he lost because that.
  25. He doesn't have a background in coaching that I'm aware of, but you seem to feel that he will help choose a coordinator if one needs to be replaced. As far as I know he never even played football at any high level. Maybe not even hs. At least I'm fairly certain he holds at least a business degree of some sort which would have required at least a course in basic business accounting. So he'd have more experience in bean counting than coaching by that metric. We know he has done a fabulous job managing the cap whether he is directly responsible for actually crunching the numbers or just delegating if to his gm advisor who is a known contract wizard from his days of cash to cap limitations. Does it matter that overdorf still works out contract details and maybe even offers suggestions on how to stagger several contracts so that when needed they can convert a salary to bonus for cap manipulation that gives the team flexibility. We don't say oh let's not forget to give overdorf his due when he maybe a reason we could keep a Milano without having to dump Star who is an important part of the defenses resurgence. If I have a accountant that sends out all the checks to pay my bills doesn't mean the accountant is responsible for my credit score since I pay my bills using that method. I just have a paid assistant to actually do the work but I get the credit for the bill being paid.
