  1. Agree other Dcs will look at tape what beat the Bills. Might be just what the coaches want on tape to be used by opposing DCs. Then again they maybe just had a bad day all around. It happens. I will bet everyone on here that works or has worked has had at least one day that everything that could go wrong did. So it could be the reason for yesterday. Not enough info to know for sure. The way they play every next game is more important. Gotta take one game at a time and one play at a time.
  2. That's on you not on the team in any way. I'm never embarrassed by being a Bills fan. I hate they lost 4 in a row but the 90's teams were very entertaining and am glad they were the Bills team. Today's Bill's are fun to watch easy to, root for and very entertaining. I certainly want them to win the SB, but as a fan I am perfectly fine with watching great football no matter the final outcome. I get a sense of disappointment after losses more for the players I don't take it as a personal loss as I don't take their wins as personal wins. Sounds to me you are more of a fan of the W/L column than a Bills fan. And that's fine if that is what is most important to you personally. To me I enjoy seeing the Bills players succeed but it is always their success not mine and I just observe the ups and downs of the process. It's more enjoyable in many ways when its not overly easy. Bumps make the journey interesting. I'm almost convinced they throw in these bumps deliberately because otherwise some really questionable strategy is being put on display. Now is that on purpose or did the coaches just really drop the ball. There are just too many possibilities that could exist for me to get worked up over. I'll see what develops further. Otherwise why not just pin your hopes to the outcome of the first coin toss. Oh no we lost the toss there goes any chance at a perfect season......
  3. I am not overly concerned, I usually optimistic when it concerns the Bills as are most of the old faithful of bills fans. So with an optimistic view here are possible reasons that would make this loss a chess move versus checkers move. The Bills and Josh both benefitted by other teams knowing that no QB can fix accuracy, until that was no longer true. So Josh is scary to other teams cause they don't know where it is that his ceiling is reached. Only ones that have some inkling are those that he's playing with at practices. The coaches and teammates, Let the doubts creep in the opponents heads, see Josh is not accurate as far all..... Losing to Pittsburg is not gonna make the season either way and why show anything to an afc rival that might be met in playoffs. (I know playing extremely long game with this reasoning but still possible - Bills legit have the talent to be in mix for AFC champs as do the Steelers). Knowing Dawkins isn't up to his normal standards against a good defensive team you can't put all that on the rookie Brown just to have the 1-0 which is nice but no even close to being important. I like the Bills chances against their divisional foes alot better than Pittsburgh's. So while head to head tie goes to pitt I think we may edge them out for conference record at end of year.
  4. Just win baby! Who is Allen Davis? In 2020 closest we can get is with Allen to Davis. I can live with that easily.
  5. I think the added size we got on Dl now the ability by the basham 6'3" and Rousseau 6'6". On a passing route if tes releasing easily could Rousseau stunt into middle gaps to defend against safety dumpoffs to tes? His height and added arm length would make deflecting passes a good ability to work on as well as pass rush moves. I don't recall if Bruce tipped alot of balls, he was just so good to watch for his sacks and pressures anything else was just gravy and blends into his all time sack leader goat.
  6. Yea except in past Billyboy depended on rattling the opponents into making enough errors to cash in to seal the deal. Bills with Allen don't shoot themselves in the foot or when they do they do what Christian Wade would say they run the bloody right route on the shot foot. And if it's toe to toe I'm backing Bass vs who they even have as kicker?
  7. Agree it is a solid and even a valid strategy to compensate for not having the Franchise on the team any longer. And it would even be successful except for Josh Allen. They can run all they want but they won't keep pace with the Bills passing and equally important kicking game when u go toe to toe countering success on both sides. So I view snagging Bass as a overlooked cog in the machine. I'd say the Bills have the best qb and best kicker in division. Hmm alot like early Pat's Brady/Vinatieri early dynasty. A couple old proverbs. You don't reinvent the wheel. To not learn from history is to just repeat same mistakes... but on this one I'm taking the inferred counterpoint. To learn from history is to duplicate success. I'd rather be an early BB Brady Vinatieri copycat than a early but still all blowhard Rex Ryan build a bully ground and pound team. All coaches find the game doesn't stand still for them, BB knows it just probably just working out his current contract. If Kraft felt Bill was hurting the team I'm sure he'd arrange a Bill decides to retire decision for all we know his pat contract could be guaranteed even if he retires. I don't think coach contracts are detailed much outside maybe term and yearly salary. So no I don't believe it will be a success while Bills have Allen Bass and our wr corp. As for defense if Rousseau develops as edge as Bruce did learning to be supple at his height/strength will work towards a long productive career. Also Bruce was underrated at ability to shed blocks and take down the rb trying the corner. And FYI I will take Ja17/Bass over the Tb12/Vinatieri combo at the start of their dynasty with Brady not the current been in the league this entire millenia Brady. And current Josh over rookie thru last year's Josh Because even in just that lil preview in preseason we see Josh is making his reads and has the weapons to choose where the best play is.
  8. Be interesting to know the intervals between 300 yd games thru-out the drought years. I suspect the graph would be pretty flat.
  9. I can't risk a yeast infection. It's true I do sit when I pee.
  10. Yea I truly understand the hardships of starving children in Africa. I was forced to only earn 20 million a year way less than what I was worth. ============================ Josh Allen version of this commercial would had him throwing the sub rolls into the hands of African children all the while he's responsible for a huge influx of African born receivers who don't drop passes getting scholarship offers to college football. Which then leads to higher literacy in those African nations and 3rd world problems are reduced at a stellar rate only rivaled by the rate of Josh Allens completion rate increases. So there we have it. Brady -- self-absorbed *****. Allen -- makes the world a better place.
  11. He can have E. Sanders do the commercial with him now that E. Sanders is ok with blue cheese in Buffalo.
  12. I also suspect something like this occurred. Butler: ok in this situation I want you a safety blitz on Josh Allen. Minkah Fitzpatrick: me and who else? I can't take Allen 1 on 1. Butler: I'll take care of his possibly running away from you, no worries. MF: You aren't listening. I'm not gonna risk getting hurt by him if I try to go helter shelter on him. I wanna stay healthy to earn what I'm worth on my 2nd contract like TJ did. Josh Allen making defensive players choose business decisions since 2021? I'm going with 2021 as the start since now he's the 258 million dollar man. . And as he's a fellow employee I think there is more respect amongst the upper talent in the league. Neither minkah or Josh want to do damage to their NFL affiliation which is what provides them their excellent livelihoods. Why I expect this type of rhetoric from coaches especially only a coordinator could even backfire and Butler finds he's deciding what college is best for his next gig not for his children's education.
  13. I don't think Beane would overpay for a player he feels fits what we need. With the scouting staff he put together I think they do a fantastic job of getting the right players that fit in and at the right costs in terms of draft capital. Yes, there have been some incorrect picks but no gm will hit on every pick. Zay Jones comes to mind. Seems Beane learns from past mistakes and miscalculations. All I'm saying is if a draftee is deemed to be exactly what the team needs and everything screams to him that a player needs to be a Buffalo Bill then he has that luxury as the team is pretty solidly built all around IMHO. In the 90's I never was upset at the lack of early picks. Sure there was talent I wish we could have drafted but some wouldn't have had a way to win a spot on those teams.
  14. Indeed. I'm so glad our coaches are all about doing their jobs by preparing their players for the current opponents and not trying to intimidate the opposing players. Frankly that's pretty telling that he doesn't fully trust his players can get the job done so he's trying to intimidate Josh. We'll see on Sunday how well that strategy works. I'm not overly concerned because I truly expect the league will not sit back and let liberties be taken against Josh. And you can certainly bet the entire team will have Josh's back. And that just wouldn't be pretty for the Steelers.
  15. With the Bills having a decent and I'd say fairly deep roster there's not alot of room for draftees to make the team that allows Beane to package picks for moving up when he sees a player that will fit. Heck aftercwe win the SB I could care less if they trade all their picks to land a draft player they feel will fill a need. I trust this front office with their player evaluations. They don't hit on every pick but they have brought in a good number of players that fit right in our system -- both via draft as well as bringing in vets that didn't fit their other team.
  16. Not a big fan of Ben, too much off season baggage which questions his character. He's a sleaze, Bills will keep him in check I trust. . The one that needs stuff thrown at him is the DC Butler after his comments on Josh Allen and his running ability. I hope he gets a letter from NlFL league office to back away from such rhetorical statements trying to dictate how Josh plays. He should stick to his job and coach his defense, the Bills and Josh don't require his advice. . Makes me appreciate we got coaches who do their jobs and do them without the need for calling out other players of opposing teams. I wanna see Bills fans make life miserable for Ben as they disrupt his ability to audible as the new Bills pass rush makes Ben run.
  17. But E.J. lives in or near London. E.J. I is Elton John right? I know he used to live in London in the 80's and 90's. .
  18. You hit alot of points but I'm certain there are some others including one I'll add that I think is overlooked but Josh Allen is a positive posterboy for the league. He comes across as a hard working regular guy who loves to play, wants to win, and while he's competitive it sure seems like he's got alot of friends across the league. He gets recognition amongst his peers that says alot and any alert nfl press should pick up on that. I'm sure the ratings for Bills games may even reflect the popular appeal of Bills games even outside the primetime looks the Bills have shined on. Who doesn't think Josh gained some fans after he stuffed them for Thanksgiving. I won't be surprised if Allen starts getting more flags a la Brady as the NFL does seem to be more protective of popular star players.
  19. I expect the games where they played poorly coincided with the games Allen was playing hurt or some of our receivers were nursing nagging injuries. Not making excuses just pointing out what caused the inferior play.
  20. I agree that the experience and confidence they gain from succeeding in the close games I think is far better than had they blown out all those close games. It's easier to have a letdown when things have been going your way so often even when its due to your talent. It's why Mahomes and the Chiefs couldn't beat TB. When I was stationed in Fĺ in early 80's I was bowling alot and I subbed on any league I wasn't actually in so I got in alot of practice. I'd constantly kept track of what I needed every game to hit 200 +. It drove a number of people crazy they'd ask why I put the added pressure on myself by score watching so much. Well I wanted to be used to coming thru under pressure. And at times I messed up due to the pressure but I did succeed a good percentage of the time. I bowled the first week of the WIBC State tourney and I started in 1st place in my division and I kept it throughout the 2 months it ran. All the practice I had as well as the pressure I added to myself preceeding the tourney had me peaking at the right time. So by my personal experience I know the value of pressure situation experience. How many drought year teams have we seen shoot themselves in the foot and responded with a terrible effort and lost, many games they had no business losing as they were the better team (not talking bout the games we were lucky to be in against superior teams). That's why the 90's teams were so good they usually overcame their bad plays and once they knew they could it got easier to do. Success breeds success.
  21. Yea the "Hail Murray" changed the mindset of the team and seeing them still score td when they had 2 wiped out by penalty. It's not about style points but they just are becoming an efficient team that's hard to stop cause they don't generally hurt themselves. They basically keep bending the opposing defense until it breaks. I expect we will see some no huddle early and often this season. When everyone is on same page as it appears our offense is u can play fast.
  22. I disagree with 5 for a number of reasons. 1 - Allen and the Bills offense are fun to watch and lot of other teams fans enjoy watching the Bills. (Apparently players too since Sanders says that was a big draw to him coming to the Bills). 2 - Bills Mafia has a deservedly good reputation amongst most NFL fanbases. We respond to Lamar Jackson's concussion exit by donating to a charity he supported. I fully expect this JA17 era to be special. They are capable of going on a dynastic run if they play to their full potential. Watching over next few years will be very entertaining, that's a given. Now if the Bills go on a crazy streak then maybe some other fans will get tired of it, but depends on the level of compete.
  23. Ah okay I don't bet I just remember hearing they had the sportsbook at the casino here. And while I by no means propose illegal gambling even if I consider myself part of Bills Mafia and that just comes across as a massive contradiction in terms, I tend to align with the position that NYS has to respect the Seneca sovereignty. To ignore history is to just becoming stuck repeating the same mistakes. I am gonna more of a "Give a man a fish he eats for a day -- Teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime", type person.
  24. Indeed there's no growth in just maintaining ties with only like minded people. I constantly debate my opinions by debating opposite viewpoints in my mind. If I can't justify my stance against an opposing viewpoint I will modify my stance according to any facts that I may turn up. Many people won't even listen to anything thats opposite. But to create balance u need both sides to find that perfect middle ground.
