  1. And that's pretty much what I said. Starting NFL olinemen are a premium asset and no smart team is going to get rid of them even in a firesale and/or rebuilding situation.
  2. Just some more food for thought regarding Tua and the type of year he's having...Tyreek Hill is on his way not only to the best year of his career, but shattering the all time NFL single season receiving records. So for those that still doubt Tua, keep in mind that Hill never had a season like this all those years in KC with Mahomes throwing the ball to him.
  3. Here's the big question if we do end up signing OBJ, who gets released for him? I'll go for somewhat of a surprise and say McKenzie, not because I personally think he's a waste of roster space, but because we now have another viable return option in Hines and OBJ would have to take the lion share of the WR3/slot snaps and that's where I think you have to make a tough decision especially because you aren't going to release or sit a guy like Shakir.
  4. With all due respect, you haven't been paying attention to the Dolphins if you think they are going 1-5 in these games. Chicago and Cleveland and bad teams and they should win both those fairly easy along with the Texans. I do agree that 3 game road stretch after is going to be brutal but since I believe they are a contender they should win at least one of those, probably SF and/or LAC who have both been very inconsistent this year anyway especially at home. McDaniel is very familiar with the 49ers being their former OC so he knows the team inside and out which will help as well.
  5. I normally don't slurp Beane's koolaid, but this move could be genius for several reasons: 1) Legit punt returner going forward 2) If Singletary is not resigned, you can move forward with Hines/Cook and probably at worse get the same total production we are going to see this year which means RB is not a need in the draft or FA. 3) Adding another talented receiving option who was not being utilized properly this year. All this for a 6th round pick and officially pulling the plug on the Moss experiment is as good a of an in season trade you can make without mortgaging the future.
  6. Jets have seemed to follow the dolphins patter in recent years against the Bills in terms of getting blown out in one game and playing tight in the other. But I can't imagine a scenario where this team starts 0-2 in the division and still feel the jets current record is as fraudulent you can get looking at the context of who they've played so far. Will be very surprised if this game is close in 4th quarter. Bills 34 Jets 10
  7. I kinda saw this coming especially since there were rumors they the Giants tried to make some moves for a WR before the trade deadline. So maybe a fresh start being reunited with Daboll will help him realize whatever potential he may have. Either way he wasn't going to see the field here again this year and hasn't been able to show much anyway because injury issues that have plagued him thus far.
  8. Dolphins are a legit contender with Tua, it's what the factual data shows. And the MVP talk is gaining steam again considering they are undefeated in every game he's started and finished this year. And by landing a premier defensive player it will help shore up their defense which has been an issue at times this year, mostly because of injuries anyway. Again, I know some fans here don't really care or believe there is any real threat to the Bills, but I still think this will be a tight race especially given the Dolphins upcoming schedule which is very favorable to stack some wins before their next matchup with us.
  9. Hard to say this about a team that has already beat us once this year, and our only loss. Dolphins asserted themselves today as legit SB contenders and winning the division is far from a lock now.
  10. Massive power move by the Dolphins. I know some here will continue to downplay them and act as if they aren't a real threat, but I'm not so sure the division is a lock for the Bills now. In fact will go as far to say this puts the dolphins right up there, possibly even surpassing the Chiefs, as the biggest hurdle to get to the SB now.
  11. If that's the case this is nothing to celebrate. Marlow is a decent backup at best.
  12. Pretty much the type of move I thought this team would make and dumping Zack Moss is a win in itself here. Will be interesting to see how they use Hines and whose carries he eats into (guessing Cook for now).
  13. I thought the Raiders would get things together and go on a run but at this point you are probably right about them being finished so if Jacobs can be had for the right price it would make sense if we were truly looking at guys like Kamara and CMC.
  14. I've been a big critic of Edmunds in the past, but he's been pretty good so far this year up until the other night when I thought he clearly had his worst game of the year and looked like the guy who was an easy target to criticize in the past. Assuming it was just a bad game which is going to happen.
  15. Got to admit, I'm a bit puzzled with Beanes steadfast determination to trade for a big name RB these last few weeks. Seems like the bigger issue to address is oline, which by default would improve run blocking for the backs we already have. But then again most teams aren't going to part ways with starting caliber NFL guards unless they get a kings ransom in return, even those already waving the white flag and looking ahead to 2023.
  16. Nice move for the Vikings, but surprised the Lions dealt within their division. Either way just happy these type of players are ending up on the Chiefs right now but still time for them to make a power move....
  17. Its a copycat league al about recency bias so off course they'll try the same exact gameplan until it likely backfires.
  18. I love this move by the Ravens and it solidifies them as a legit contender in the AFC along with KC, CIN and BUF IMO. Was already a tough matchup and will be very interesting should we see them again in the playoffs. We are seeing a true arms race and anything else of note done in the next few days is an attempt to matchup with the Bills.
  19. It's not an epic fail if other teams are asking for a kings ransom for any reliable player in return. But I do agree this team should be a player in the trade market just not sure RB is the position I'd be looking at and if you believe the rumors about Kamara and McCaffrey previously it seems that's what Beane is interested in.
  20. In the back of my mind this is probably my only real concern. Despite a great 6-1 start and looking mostly dominant so far, this team still makes a lot of bad mistakes and turnovers. And at least for now the margin of error has heavily favored the Bills like we saw last night in a very poor 2nd half only scoring 3 points. But when you look at team like the Chiefs they seem to not piss on themselves nearly as much and you really wonder what would have happened had Mahomes not throw the game ending pick a few weeks ago. Still a lot to clean up before this team presumably hits the final stride and form before the playoffs.
  21. Probably not at all, but it looks like if Wilson does get benched or hurt it's going to be the Mike White show again there based on moving him up the depth chart over Flacco.
  22. What's important is the expectations in the locker room, not fans and media. And while I imagine the organizations expectations are similar to the fans in terms of SB or bust, they know they aren't running roughtshod over the entire league and winning by 3+ scores every game. Still think this game will probably have at least one truly ugly outing/drop a game they should win before the season is over. This is why already losing a game combined with a mild let down coming out of the bye aren't necessarily bad things. Assuming they return to form and crush the Jets there should be no major concerns going forward outside of keeping the roster relatively healthy.
  23. I would say Bills for sure considering we still have Jets x 2, Pats x 2 and Miami one more time. Probably not going 5-0 in these games. The only real challenge the Chiefs might have with their division is the game @ the chargers but still don't see them losing more than a game or 2 max the rest of the way given their overall schedule left which is why it's imperative Bills keep pace and take care of teams they should beat the rest of the way.
  24. Yes with their 3rd string rookie QB playing, and despite that the game was still within one score in the 4th quarter before things completely unraveled for the them. Like I said, Jets hot start this year was a good story but it's as misleading as it gets when you look at the bigger picture and how/who the wins came against. Zack Wilson is also another bad game away from probably being benched for Mike White, in fact won't be surprised if he's benched during the game against us this week.
  25. People are making too much about last night and run defense. And overall this team has adapted well in terms of adjusting at halftime despite the dismal 2nd half performance yesterday.
