  1. I'm honestly not trying to be negative, just realistic and I've said for months all the media and fan hype means nothing. At the end of the day only one team in this league ultimately has a successful season in terms of who hoists the lombardi in Feb 2023. Also rarely does the consensus preseason favorite live up to the hype. The reality is setting in that this offense just isn't as dynamic and diverse with weapons that was initially believed. Also as good as Miller has been, this defense is starting to resemble the same tired and predictable scheme we've seen from McD/Frazier for years now, especially in terms of the rush defense laps and only managing a few sacks a game especially against teams they should be getting them in bunches against. Obviously this team still has everything in front of them which is what JA17 said himself after his worse game in probably the last few years, but another loss this week and all of sudden everything will be behind them including the division lead and the #1 seed which KC will not relinquish should they get it, and still think they probably win out which is something the Bills likely won't be able to match for a number of reasons.
  2. This team was also 6-2 in 2019 and 2020, so it's not like it's a milestone accomplishment. And for all the work this team did early in the year winning against the other 3 teams currently leading their divisions in the AFC, it all goes out the window if this team is about to be mired in another season funk similar to last year when they essentially played .500 football the greater part of 2 months before deciding it was worth showing up again the last 4 games of the season. And if that happens again where the Bills fall out of first place in the division, I'm fairly confident this time they may not regain that position again given how strong the other 3 teams are right now especially currently being winless in division play.
  3. The fish and Jets both played the Bills close for 3+ quarters in Buffalo last year. So I disagree that they need anything close to a miracle to win in Buffalo especially since they have the 'house money' factor on their side now and can be more aggressive and take chances. Also the Patriots just beat the same Jets team in NY handily despite their offense being very inconsistent and also somewhat a work in progress. Their defense is ridiculously good this year again if the Dolphins and Jets can beat the bills in their home fields no reason the Pats won't be able to do the same.
  4. The point is they won the game and Mahomes played like a superstar when the game was on the line like he always does. The guy is also on pace to shatter the single season NFL passing yards record and has never lost a game in Nov/Dec his entire career. Think about how absurd that stat is. This is my point about the Chiefs/Mahomes vs. Bills/Allen, teams ***** all over themselves when they play the Chiefs because of the aura of greatness around them, just like the Pats and Brady for so many years. Teams don't do this against Buffalo because they are all hype and haven't won anything yet. Maybe some day we'll get there but there is a reason why the chiefs continue to play a brand of consistent football than the Bills can't seem to do and it starts with the QB.
  5. While I agree in theory, if they don't understand what's at stake (avoiding going to KC in the playoffs) then they haven't learned anything and destined for the same failures. Don't care what anybody says there's zero chance they will go to KC and win twice just like the reality of last year. And take away a truly fluky Mahome's INT they probably wouldn't have a few weeks ago either. Seize the freaking moment and win games you are supposed to. Miami is a much better team than the Jets so I get that one and this team wasn't going undefeated anyway, but no excuse to drop a game against a team that has been horrendous on offense all year even when they had a great rookie RB healthy and in the lineup.
  6. That's just it, to fix this team you may need to ultimately replace the HC and GM. The biggest irony right now is that despite coming from Carolina and watching how Cam Newton's career was run into the ground they are trying to do the exact same thing with JA17 and ensure his shelf life in this league is exactly the same if not much less.
  7. And yet both teams are sitting at 6-2. Also the 'rebuilding' Giants team with nowhere close to the amount of talent the Bills allegedly have is 6-2. Again, bigger issue is McDermott and maintain this team will never go anywhere with him here and you are seeing the result of what happens when you face other divisions teams that aren't rebuilding and have legit coaches now, just like the Belichik/Brady Pats teams he could never touch.
  8. Always thought this guy is another overrated and worthless player. But knowing this team they'll probably extend him and pay him record money for a 'long snapper'.
  9. This organization's conservative approach is what will ultimately be their downfall, whether it's sitting injured guys who are more than healthy enough to play, not making bolder moves before the trade deadline, and sticking to the same tired predicable schemes on both sides of the ball. Also starting to lean back towards Miami being the best team in the division as well. Tua is the MVP right now IMO and that team is oozing talent on both sides of the ball. If only we had near the type of talent they do on offense.
  10. Getting tired of the injury excuse quite frankly especially when you look at the two teams we've lost to this year and their own respective injury situations. It's the NFL and very few teams are going to be 100% from start to finish. I'm not saying the season is over and jumping off the ledge yet, but it's telling that this team's only 2 losses so far are against teams in the division that have specifically built their teams to stop/beat Buffalo. Also yes Mahomes is the best QB in the league, tired of the debate hearing otherwise until JA17 grows up and stops playing hero ball (and wins a SB for that matter).
  11. I'm really not sure the Jets are a good team, but their defense seems to be legit which sometimes is all that matters. At the end of the day though the Bills defense should have also feasted yesterday just like the Patriots did the week before, not having Milano or Poyer is just an excuse.
  12. I don't know what type of dirt McKenzie has on this organization, but he should have never been resigned again and again when he's proven that he's a marginal NFL player whose ceiling is exactly what's it's been every year here. Still not sure OBJ would make much a difference either also coming off a serious injury that he's not even 12 months removed from yet.
  13. Again I don't put the blame 100% on Allen for this teams struggles as of late, but at some point if you want to be the best in the game you have to overcome deficiencies around you like Mahomes is doing this year with arguably his worse supporting cast in his career. And if JA17 keeps locking onto Diggs not only are the turnovers going to come in more bunches, this team will go nowhere as the book is out now in terms of stopping what was already a one dimensional offense to begin with because they can't/won't run the football.
  14. 100% true and why I mentioned in another thread why KC/Mahomes is still the gold standard. JA17 has to learn to play with a more steady hand and control his emotions on the field. Until then he'll never be in Mahomes class no matter how much some Bills mafia wants to argue otherwise. At the end of the day though the bigger issue IMO is still McDermott, especially the defensive scheme that seems to play conservative at all costs when they shouldn't.
  15. NE x 2, MIA, NYJ, MIN, @ CIN All these teams are playing good to great football and already being 0-2 in the division is a bad omen considering both the Jets and Dolphins are now playing with house money when they visit Buffalo later this year. I still want to believe this team can win the division at worse, but 0-2 so far tells me that's probably not going to happen and don't see better than 3-3 finish in division play right now. Also on the flip side in KC, I've felt all along that they are not going to lose more than 1 game the rest of the way and last night showed why Mahomes is still the best QB in the NFL by a large margin and has the more steady hand in terms of coming through when the game is on the line. Looks like a familiar script is going to play out with this team come January and if they have to go the WC route it will be a quick exit given McD's playoff record.
  16. I've thought a lot about this as well and tend to agree if anything because I think McD reached his ceiling then in terms of how far he'll ever take this team. And still think the idea that the Bills would have won it all last year if not for the 13 second debacle is just a red herring. They just weren't as good a team last year and if anything played above their heads and talent level in the playoffs to begin with.
  17. It's starting to feel like this is going to be a 'one and done' type of year even if this team secures the #1 seed in the AFC. Maybe I'm just old school but I still believe it's the teams that can run the ball and stop the run that are going to ultimately rise to the top and this team is terrible at both right now.
  18. Oliver certainly has been disappointing and not going to use injuries as excuse. But at the end of the day this teams fascination with undersized players in the front seven is everything that's wrong with this defense and why we probably aren't going very far in the playoffs.
  19. This happens every year around this time and usually this team gets it fixed to a certain degree, but I still maintain that McD and Frazier's scheme is the real issue and what will ultimately cost this team again when it matters in the playoffs. The insistence of staying in a base nickel defense against an offense and QB like Wilson is inexcusable and at halftime they really needed to shift to an aggressive, blitzing defense to take advantage of the situation.
  20. Ownership is the real issue in Indy and but you almost wonder if the plan was to go full tank mode anyway by naming Elhernger as the starter the rest of the year.
  21. On defense I would say Oliver. I know he was hurt early in the year but the impact that was expected playing alongside Miller has simply not been there so far and he's been outplayed by Phillips. Still time to turn it on but it's now or never with him. On offense Knox for sure given the questionable extension in hindsight, also McKenzie needs to be off this team ASAP and is as worthless as it gets. Any idea he would be a replacement for Beasely is/was ludicrous in the first place. Also both Saffold and Bates are not getting the job done and guard very well may be this teams biggest need in the offseason.
  22. Based on some of the projections floating around social media, looks like Edmunds is going to command somewhere between $20 -$25 million a year minimum in free agency. In other words, enjoy him while it last because there's no way Beane is ponying up that type of cash for him, nor should he to keep this team in SB contention in the foreseeable future.
  23. This Giants team is far ahead of schedule and not the equivalent of the 2017 Bills in terms of being a mediorce team that got lucky in week 17 to get into the playoffs IMO. And if you remember Beane made what in hindsight was an uncharacteristic move trading a 3rd rounder for Kelvin Benjamin so Schoen would be making a similar play throwing money OBD's way if that happens to make a run this year. Probably still just a WC team at best unless the Eagles peak too soon, but it goes to show how important coaching really is to unluck a rosters potential sometimes. That and having a talent like Barkley healthy has mattered a lot this year on a team everyone expected to be in mix for the #1 overall pick next year.
  24. I saw this quote and think it's taken a bit out of context. But at the end of the day this is what all great QB's do and Brady has made a living getting favorable calls his entire career because of his resume. Either way I don't think JA17 and this team need any additional motivation to avoid an 0-2 start in the division against an inferior team with serious QB issues.
  25. If he's looking for the biggest pay day and don't care about competing for another championship (this year) then the Giants would be a viable option. But then again as crazy as the NFL is every year whose to say the Giants can't be a legit championship contender right now.
