  1. With Gabe out, Kumerow stepped up with 2 big catches for 50 yards!
  2. At least Cleveland traded him to an NFC team, so we should get more Buffalo games here. Of course, buying NFL Sunday ticket has eased my concerns with this problem!
  3. The odd thing about Mayfield’s statue is a side view of it actually does look like him. From that angle you can even see he has a bandana on his forehead. The NY Post has that angle. The front view looks nothing like him.
  4. The guy is from Massachusetts……. He vastly underestimates the value of the Bills for the Buffalo area. Very one sided article. If he’s an expert, he just devalued his own “franchise “ with what appears to be a much more subjective than objective article.
  5. There sure are a lot of stories complaining about all the public money being spent on the Bills new stadium. A lot of those stories seem to be coming from New York City. Now, where would most of that $600 million of New York State tax dollars ended up being spent if not for Buffalo……….now the large number of articles makes sense.
  6. I have an overall negative opinion of Whaley’s tenure as GM. It might be that Beane has been so good, that Whaley looks very bad in comparison. BTW, I was just watching the NCAA tournament game being played tonight in Buffalo. When the TV cameras spotted Beane in the stands & his face apparently went up on the big screen, the crowd roared, with some fans giving him a standing ovation. I just don’t think the reaction to Whaley on the big screen would’ve ever been like that when Whaley was GM.
  7. I’ll admit, living in Oklahoma, I really liked Baker Mayfield at OU & my son & I were hoping Buffalo would draft him. At OU, Mayfield was as fierce a competitor at QB as I’ve ever seen. He absolutely loved playing in hostile environments and seemed to play his best games in the biggest games. I’ve always considered combine athletic #s as relatively less important than intangibles. Unfortunately for Cleveland & Mayfield, pure physical #s, like arm strength are very important. My son was way more right on Allen than I initially was. He loved Allen within a few weeks of the draft, it took me a few regular season games. It turns out Josh Allen is just as fierce of a competitor as Baker Mayfield AND he has much better athletic ability to make the necessary throws & plays! Mayfield is now my third favorite QB, behind Josh Allen & Ryan Fitzpatrick (who moved up to #2 after that Buffalo-New England wild card game)!
  8. Just to add to that opinion: I know one of Troy Aikman’s high school coaches. Per this old coach, Troy went with Jones & Johnson to a postseason NFL function. Troy was in his early 20s at this time & Johnson & Jones were in their 40s. They were both drinking a lot & were hitting on girls Troy’s age. Troy said he was embarrassed to be around them. Also, it was widely known Jimmy Johnson was going after coeds when he was the head coach at Oklahoma State. I had friends who saw this in bars around Stillwater. Not cool for a married coach in a small college town. The two JJs were a lot alike, in a bad way.
  9. I don’t mind Aikman & Buck, but I don’t consider them anything special at all. I’m neutral on their announcing. I do prefer more enthusiasm from the announcers. However, getting rid of Levy & Griese would be a definite improvement for me. I think Levi just doesn’t like Buffalo. He took shots at Bills mafia, insinuating they’re reputation and traveling numbers were overrated, & doesn’t appear to be a fan of Josh Allen. Griese also seemed to be looking for any mistakes by Josh Allen & seemed to be rooting for the other team on most occasions. Obviously I am not objective, but I always felt like I was listening to the other team’s announcing crew when they did Bills games. On the other hand, I think Jim Nance genuinely likes Josh & likes the Bills mafia story. Not to the pro-Bills feel of Chris Berman, but he seems to lean a little our way.
  10. I agree with the thread title, Allen is better. The media can & does equate winning teams to mean the QB is a winner. The truth is Josh Allen won the playoff game in Kansas City with 2 great drives culminating in 2 great TDS in the last 2 minutes of the game. His defense collapsed twice, actually 3 times in a row. That’s nothing on Josh, he did everything anyone could ask. He played both playoff games like a clutch, championship level winner. He was easily the best QB in the NFL playoffs. After today, it’s not even close.
  11. That near pick needs to be pointed out. I heard Jimmy Johnson saying no one should blame Mahomes because the OT interception was a tipped pass. Johnson failed to mention his previous pass should have been a game ending pick 6!
  12. I would have thought Burrow lighting up KC was the Bengals only chance. Instead, Burrow had a very average game. He threw a key 4th quarter interception and almost threw a second one on the next series ( it was dropped). Cincinnati’s defense and especially their d-line was the difference. If you objectively review these playoffs, Burrow has been very average. He’s been a good luck charm more than a super QB.
  13. I reluctantly agree. Not only do we rarely have crucial stops, we rarely get a 3 & out in key situations.
  14. So, defense & a running game do win in today’s NFL. Josh Allen had one of the greatest passing games ever & we still lost. Joe Burrow had a very average passing game, including a big 4th quarter interception & Cincinnati still won.
  15. Wide right was worse for me, so was Tennessee’s forward pass on the kick return. This was such a gut punch, but Josh Allen’s incredible clutch performance has me encouraged that we will be back. I will no longer agree with anyone saying he can’t win the big one. He proved that he can…twice in one game.
  16. We would have scored another TD ( KC couldn’t stop us, either). Then we could’ve gone for 2 to decide the game.
  17. Kicking out of the end zone with only 13 seconds left wasn’t the big blunder. A squib kick could have been immediately kneeled down, anyway. Playing soft prevent 2 plays in a row was the blunder. That was horrible defense. I agree that Hill’s short crossing route that he turned into a 64 yd TD probably scared us into the prevent decision. Still, that was what cost us the game.
  18. I agree with this, but with one difference: Josh Allen played both playoff games at a Super Bowl MVP level. It took horrible defense to lose this game. Beane does need to make some big offseason moves. I do find encouragement knowing that Mahomes played one of his best games ever & only incredibly horrific D by Buffalo in the last 13 seconds & just as importantly KC winning the coin toss, kept Mahomes from losing. Let’s not blow easy games next season and play them at Buffalo next January. Anyone objectively watching games today knows the 2 best teams in the NFL played in KC tonight.
  19. -A DE who disrupts consistently -A very good RB -One more good, young WR -One more legit TE -Lower the overall age of the roster -Speed, speed & speed, especially on D. We have a solid defense, but lack speed overall. I like our receivers overall ( we must re-sign Davis), but the yards after catch for KC tonight had to be way more than ours. We don’t have WRs that break many tackles. Singletary is OK, but a big RB, who can still move, would save wear & tear on Allen.
  20. Josh Allen proved he is a MVP-level, Super Bowl winning level QB. That should draw good free agents to Buffalo.
  21. The NFL OT rule needs to be reworked, at least for playoff games. Everyone knew that whoever won the coin toss would win that game. The coin toss shouldn’t be that big of a determining factor in a playoff game.
  22. The good news with this defeat is Josh Allen. He was incredible! Josh had 2 big TD passes AFTER the 2 minute warning! With Josh Allen in Buffalo, we will be back! So will Gabe Davis! We need a legit #1 defense. This year we were a great defense on paper only.
  23. More than anything, Shaw’s list shows passer ratings in the playoffs aren’t everything. #16 & #10 should be 1st & 2nd. I think it’s a more relevant regular season stat. Playoff games are about winning in whatever way possible. Also, the number of games played is highly variable. Regardless, I’d rather have that 4th rated guy over any other current QB!
  24. Although this ticket policy is for the next game & Cincinnati fans, Buffalo definitely contributed to this policy. I was at the 2019 game in Nashville. There were almost as many Bills fans as Titan fans at that game. One Nashville columnist said it was the largest opposing fan crowd he had ever seen at a Titans game. Another local media person said something along the lines of “people have been complaining the crowd noise hasn’t been loud enough in Nissan Stadium. Well, I heard a very loud crowd response today, unfortunately it was when Buffalo scored!” A very large number of us will find a way to get our tickets if both teams win this weekend.
  25. I don’t think it’s Super Bowl or bust, but it is good to know you have beaten or should have beaten what may be the 3 opponents you could face to win the Super Bowl (KC, Tennessee & Tampa Bay). We should be playing with a high level of confidence.
