Legacy scenario for Allen starting @ Miami
Tulsabillsfanz replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
Some of these posters appear to be rooting for a Bills loss so they can blame Josh. The narrative that Josh doesn’t play well in big games is bs. The 13 second game was as clutch a playoff performance as any Bills QB ever. -
Week 18 - Bills v. Fish - PREDICT THE SCORE
Tulsabillsfanz replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Buffalo 37 Miami 28 -
One stat to add to my post: In Diggs first 3 seasons in Buffalo, around 50% of his targets ended up being first downs or touchdowns. This season it’s around 40%. BTW Davis this season is around 50% & Shakir is abnormally high at around 60%. There are many factors that influence that stat, but overall I believe it shows a below average success ratio on targeting Diggs. I think we’re forcing the ball to him too much.

I think one problem with Allen’s passing this season is the over emphasis on trying to get the ball to Diggs. We need to just find the open receiver, regardless of who it is. I know Diggs is WR1, but he doesn’t always get open. I know he gets angry when he thinks he’s under utilized, but that’s just the way it is sometimes. I completely agree we need to make our first pick next April a WR, if there’s a good one available.

Long conversation between McD and Belichick
Tulsabillsfanz replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Belichick told McDermott “I hope you beat that hipster dufus Dolphin coach next week “! -
I’m glad I’m not a Seattle fan. What a weak defensive team.
-
Seattle (like a lot of teams today) seems to believe tackling (attempting to tackle) at shoulder level is a good idea.
-
Also, late in the first half he not only turned in when he could have gone out of bounds to stop the clock, he also stepped backwards and didn’t take the first down he could have easily made. Diggs was trying to turn it into a bigger play, but we ended up having to punt. I think Diggs has been underperforming for the last several games.

Everything I’ve read says Chiefs haven’t clinched yet. Broncos can still catch them.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly 12 Men on the Field Addition
Tulsabillsfanz replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott is the head coach & should take responsibility for having 12 men on the field. However, it’s amazing to think you would have to remind professional football players who is supposed to be on the field for field goal defense. Denver had already kicked 3 field goals in the game! -
This team never makes a big stop
Tulsabillsfanz replied to Brianmoorman4jesus's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with the thread title, other than 6 words that need to be added: This team never makes a big stop….with the game on the line. I don’t know if this started with 13 seconds or it just intensified with 13 seconds. But, the Buffalo defense rarely makes a stop with the game on the line. My son texted me before our last offensive drive started and predicted the exact final score. I had just told my wife the exact same thing. We have seen this multiple times: Josh & the offense drive late & give us the lead, followed by the defense giving up a game ending score. This happens when we have bad defensive games and it happens in games ( like last night) when we have good defensive games. -
Around the NFL - Week 10 - Sunday, November 12th
Tulsabillsfanz replied to RiotAct's topic in The Stadium Wall
It used be a Leslie Frazier problem, but Josh always got the blame. BTW, it’s awesome that Stroud & Houston just came back & won it anyway! -

Does anyone remember that game where Josh Allen threw 2 interceptions in the 4th quarter to keep the Bills down by 2 scores. Then the Bills defense forced a big turnover to create an easy TD & then forced a 3 & out to get Buffalo a chance to win at the end? I don’t remember it either. Burrow is nothing but lucky today. -
So, we’re 2-3 when Davis has 35 receiving yards or less. We’re 3-1 when he has more than 35 receiving yards. Not laying the blame for lack of yardage solely on Davis, but there’s a stat to keep an eye on.

That’s how I saw it. We held Cincinnati until it was a one score game. Then their offense looked like their first 2 drives. I think if Kincaid had not fumbled and we scored on that earlier drive, Cincinnati would’ve scored after our score. I would have been very surprised if we actually stopped them when it was a one score game in the second half. Also, I have to admit, Cincinnati’s coach doesn’t fall into the “playing not to lose” mindset that many coaches fall into.
-
We actually started well, on offense. Then, we decided we needed to establish the run on first down and completely changed the wide open play calling that worked on the first drive.
-
Yes, we have a lot of injuries on defense. However, regardless of our injury situation over the last few years, we have very rarely made big stops late in close games. I can’t remember the last time we got a turnover in a key late game situation. I would’ve gone for an onside kick with 3:32 left. That’s how little confidence I have in our defense in game on the line situations.
-
Our defense almost never makes stops late in close games. We should’ve tried an onside kick with 3:32 left.
-
Joseph did his job, taking 2 O-linemen. Dodson hides behind Joseph instead of filing the hole. That was a 4 point mistake.
-
I don’t think Burrow had to make one throw with a defender within 5 yards of the receiver. Our zone defense isn’t working.

Buffalo is 5-0 on Sunday night football since 2019. Josh Allen is 13-4 in prime time. We may not always play well in prime time, but we win a lot.

Happy 64th Birthday, Buffalo Bills!
Tulsabillsfanz replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was born in Buffalo 2 weeks later. So, I can (just barely) claim to be a lifelong Bills fan! -
After watching a few other games today, I have one main thought about tonight’s game. If we didn’t have a scrambling quarterback, we would’ve lost. Josh’s ability to get away from a pass rush and improvise was the key to both TD drives. We really need a play call overhaul. The other teams aren’t being fooled very often. Buy hey, it’s a win.

After watching Geno Smith, I am so thankful we have Josh Allen! Geno didn’t throw another interception, he just held the ball until the d-line hit him on 2 consecutive 4th downs from inside the 10! Unbelievable lack of pocket presence!
