  1. Instead of a lottery, I would set the draft order after week 12. Then there is no incentive to keep losing.
  2. No. The problem with this team is defense and OL. Well its really coaching but that is for a different thread. Allen will make the WRs better. All star QBs do. The issues on offense are the interior OL and TE #2. The issues on defense is Edmunds is overrated and makes no plays, they need another CB#2, they need an underage ang long term fix at DT 1-tech, and a pure edge pass rusher. Want to make a trade with the Seahawks. Trade Edmunds straight up for Wagner.
  3. Yes and no. For the top 15 players sure. After that there isn't much difference for the next 50 or so. And after the first round there are so many trades and comp picks that draft position really doesn't matter. I criticize Beane alot and he deserves criticism for taking Basham and not Humphrey. But getting a starting DE and RT is not terrible. The fact his second round pick barely played is really disappointing. Groot looks ok. Brown looked ok but also looked awful at times. Brown would have never seen the field if Beane's worst bust Cody Ford was playing.
  4. He will be out of the league in 2 years so its not worth me learning his name
  5. Mike White Tua Tyler Heinicke Davis Mills Jacoby Brissett Mac Jones X 3 Lawrence Trevor Siemian Cam Newton Zach Wilson
  6. Gase has done nothing except call plays for Manning when he was at his peak. A halfway decent Madden gamer can do that.
  7. Biggest obstacle to success in 2022 will be McDermott as it was in 2021 What I remember is Wallace was lined up 12 yards off the ball and 3-4 yards wide of Kelce. He had a safety over the top. No way should he have been positioned like that and then drop further only to let Kelce catch the ball right in front of him.
  8. With Trubisky they still wouldn't have a starting QB
  9. Agree. I’m assuming CB in round 1
  10. I just read about this guy. 6'4" and 325 pounds. All kinds of power. Had a standout week at Senior Bowl according to Daniel Jeremiah. Projected as a day 2 pick. Harrison Phillips played his best football down the stretch. But he remains athletically limited. I would love to see a real powerful 1-tech guy lined up next to Oliver. What does the board know about Mr.Jones?
  11. Straight line speed isn't even in my top 5 skills for a RB. 1. Vision 2. Quickness 3. Pass catching/route running 4. Read blocks 5. Ability to break tackles 6. Speed 7. Pass blocking I'd take all of these traits which Thurman excelled at over a straight speed guy like Spiller who had none of these. Thurman is my favorite player of all time though Josh is challenging that with every dramatic moment. Only Marshall Faulk and LaDainian Tomlinson are in his league in my opinion. Both were a little faster than Thurman. Thurman was a better pure pass route runner and receiver as well as a better pass blocker.
  12. The debate will never end. Even if both make the HOF, the story will still begin with Buffalo traded away the pick that became HOF QB for the Chiefs. People still reference the Cousineau traded that ultimately brought Kelly to Buffalo
  13. How did Flores botch Tua any worse than McDermott botched Allen??? Allen could not have been in a worse situation his first two years. I agree he should have kept playing Fitz while they had a shot at the playoffs. Probably lost a fair amount of the locker room. But these guys are pros and everyone of them knows young QBs are going to struggle at times.
  14. Not sure how to feel about it. We have no idea how much Dorsey has been contributing to the game plan and the success. And he has never called games is my understanding, so that will be new. I suspect replacing the OL coach will be equally if not more important to next year's success. It will be interesting to see if he has a running game coordinator to help him. A fresh new perspective vs continuity. Pros and cons either way. Offense is least of my worries. Add an interior linemen or two and an upgrade on TE#2 and the offense will be fine. They have lots of options on how to structure the WR group and as in another thread I'm fine with Singletary as the feature back.
  15. OP your main premise makes no sense. JA had a better year in 2020 than he did in 2021. The NFL was not waiting for him to do it again before making adjustments. They already did. Allen and the offense will be fine. He will continue to evolve, run less, and take fewer chances. Fix the defense. Fix the coaching.
  16. All while giving up franchise record rushing yards if I remember correctly. His defense got sacks and turnovers but was gashed while defending the run
  17. I have no isnde info but I don't recall reading anything about locker room issues. All i read was about how he wore out his welcome with everyone in the front office with his abrasive personality. Just not someone they wanted to be around anymore no matter how much success he had brought.
  18. Yup. The Patriots prepared for Manning and Roethlisberger. The AfC East opponents were just speed bumps. Bills have to think the same way. Fix the defense and let Allen do the rest.
  19. I dont think the players hated him. I think the majority of the front office hated him.
  20. I answered OL. Wallace was fine as CB#2. The interior OL was a mess most of the year. They could do far worse than to bring back Wallace for another year. And they need to protect Allen at all costs. That said I would sign an OG in FA and draft CB and C in the first 3 rounds. Get TE#2 in FA. And then add a DL in the draft. Hopefully let Addison go and bring back Hughes for one more year
  21. Shocking another white retread previous loser HC gets another chance. Raiders have one of the best track record hiring minority coaches. Sad.
  22. He's the best TE the Bills have had since they played in the AFL. Not sure what the question is. He is a top 8 TE in this league. Yes you pay him. They need a better TE #2. Gilliam and Sweeney need to both go. They are roster bottom feeders. Doyle or another OT is your blocking TE. I would prefer a veteran as TE #2. The position takes a long time to learn.
  23. Appreciate the effort and the detail. Excellent work. So how different would it be taking a WR with an ACL tear than it was taking McGahee? I appreciate the fact that his value would drop and it would be an intriguing pick. I'd be ok with it if they moved down and picked him in the 2nd round and added another 2nd round pick. Other than that scenario this would be about the worst thing Beane could do. He has to be all-in to win a SB next year. Trade for a proven veteran OL, a pass rusher, draft a CB#2, or even a 1-tech DT. All of those positions help you win now. Not an injured WR.
