  1. 8 of the Top 60 in the next 4 drafts? For Herbert, absolutely. I get what OP is saying. What Allen and Mahomes bring, is immeasurable. However, over these contracts that they both have; if neither win anymore rings, they could be had for much less than the afore mentioned Herbert Deal. I’m not trying to suggest that Allen won’t win a ring. However. 4 years ago, NO ONE would have called Russel Wilson to the Broncos for some picks. No one. Things change fast in this league. Jerry Glanville said it best “i lose this game, I’ll be baggin’ groceries”. Win now, or try somewhere else.
  2. I can’t believe this game is still on. Finally Jeff Bezos got the raw end of a deal.
  3. I don’t understand how Justin Fields is allowed to play quarterback. He had that TE wide open, and gave the most effortless throw I’ve ever seen. Maybe ever. And I coach kids, and work with Brooklyn 20 something’s, I know what effortless looks like. Horrible. I feel bad for Bears fans.
  4. That ref was really heated though. I’m sure that he’s going to tell his other Dentist buddies at the golf course ALLLLL about it today. “I don’t care that you’re 6’4” 255lbs, pal. I says to him, you’re on my field now Mr.” All jokes aside, it’s good to see a ref take control of a potentially volatile situation. After the Pickett hit, it looked like there was going to be real trouble in this game. Sometimes you have to make a stand to let the players know that anyone can go… granted there was a minute left, but still.
  5. I feel like the point, and it’s an old school way of thinking, is to execute. If you can’t get it done with TD’s, you have to score something. Kicking field goals allowed you to say “ok we got 3, now let’s do it again and get 7”. It gives you something to build on. 4th and 19, no huddle, 3rd and long, it’s all low percentage success. You want to give your team, especially against the 2nd string defense, something to build on during the week. Something positive to look at on film. Imagine if you had a bad week at work, and on Monday your boss hammers you on every tiny thing you did wrong, but never gives you anything to work off of to get better. As Bills fans we saw a lot of low confidence, zero risk taking coaching over the years. The difference between that and Tomlin, is that Tomlin actually builds his team that way. It’s not just Jauron era scared to make a mistake football. It’s “hey we got beat up, but, we did a lot of things right, and we are going to build on that and get better”. Tomlin is a great coach. He’s facing the biggest task of his career; starting over with a new QB. I think how he goes over the next 2-3 seasons will go a long way to determine his legacy.
  6. Defense wins championships. I don’t care what anyone says. This defense is championship caliber for sure.
  7. I believe that the player (with two feet in the field of play) becomes an extension of the field. Therefore, a ball thrown and caught out of bounds, will be a catch. As for the Lamar 1st down, I thought they had added cameras to the down and distance markers to avoid this discussion. And if they haven’t, they should. They’ve added cameras everywhere else.
  8. The “third string O line” could have used a break from the nonstop blitzing. Kromer can dial up a scheme to grind out a drive. The roster is full of players up and down the depth chart that can play that way; except for the RB. This team has no effective run game because it doesn’t have a decent enough RB, to make the defense consider defending them. Cook has shown nothing yet, except he doesn’t have great hands. Miss doesn’t belong on this team. One 46 yard scramble doesn’t help, when you can’t hang your hat on 3rd and short. The O line and it’s depth are a strength of this team. Running Back by committee is killing them.
  9. How do you generate offense outside of Allen? A run game. A competent run game would have spared a fraction of the blitzes from that garbage Miami defense. Garbage.
  10. I watch the clip of him yelling “come on! Come on!” All the time. It’s inspiring to see someone so good natured, and human, and passionate about competing to win. The pressure to be a champion can’t be relieved by a forgiving fanbase. It can only be relieved by winning. I don’t think it’s crazy to assume that he loves us because we are depending on him.
  11. Joique Bell!!! He had a lot of potential. Had some nice years with Detroit too. Blackshear has some great speed and a nice cut. Not sure he would be serviceable as a blocker or on ST. I always want to go with youth, but it’s hard to think about letting Duke Johnson go, in favor of Blackshear. We could also be overhyping him to think he won’t be on the PS.
  12. Thank you. The hyper competitive coaches and parents in Youth sports is the issue. When you get so wrapped up in the win that you forget the idea is teaching children how to work together and about unity and the bonds of hard work. My point remains. I Coach my kids to NEVER bark at the ref. NEVER. That’s a sure fire way to never get a call. Communication is the way to get what you need from a ref. Until they don’t listen. Then sometimes they get the business. Same with a Coach who is having his kids hack and trip and stiff arm and shoulder block. Sometimes they need to be reminded that the rules are the rules for a reason, and not guidelines to be bent. I take coaching seriously. It’s not my profession, but I am passionate about it. There are fine lines and A LOT of grey area, and at the end of the day, we are coaching children. Role models and examples of adults to respect and follow. That includes how to deal with things when they don’t go your way.
  13. As a Coach, sometimes you need to give the Ref the business. As a Coach, sometimes you need to give the other Coach the business. But it ends at the business. I’ve given and gotten it, and never once resulted in fists. My blood has boiled watching other boys hack at my son in Lacrosse, or trip my daughters in soccer. Or worse, the blatant BS in one of our Flag Football leagues. I’m not going to say it hasn’t come close. The minute some guy gives the “ok chief” it’s hard for me. I won’t lie. But, the thought of my kids, whether my own or the ones I Coach, seeing me taken away in cuffs over a game, is just awful to me. I don’t understand how grown men, who have clearly seen the right side of things, can’t behave the same way. Just disgusting
  14. Gentry looked interesting. Nothing to keep around outside of camp. Good strong hands, looked quick.
  15. Thugs gonna thug, right? Shameful. It’s Youth football, not that adult football would make a difference; but the idea that you can role model a better life for children seems lost on these fools. Hopefully, justice is served, but you know, he’s got millions and is a former “star”, so it won’t.
  16. Nooooooooooooooo! Cheers to you for your years of service! Post game won’t be the same without the Rockpile Review.
  17. Not the best, but certainly acceptable. Not one person that posts here, is going to leave a football party with the Bills on, because they dared serve boneless wings and ranch.
  18. Thank God she got it done. She’s so brave. As her constituents, we should all be grateful.
  19. Sadly, this will go overlooked. It’s not sensational, it’s just the truth. The world we live in might get better if we all read more than headlines. Thanks for your common sense.
  20. True. But, I wonder if the “best 11” philosophy gets used here against the run. You can put Lawson on the line, and leave Miller on the field as well. I’m not going to lie, I’m no fan of watching RB’s now down Taron Johnson over and over. If the idea is that TJ is a better overall run defender than Von Miller, I have to disagree. Like I said, it makes me wonder if this gives us some more versatility against the run.
  21. I don’t know? To me, adding Lawson, allows you to put Miller in sort of a stand up spot, and still keep Edmunds and Milano on the field. You may lose something in pass protection, but you are better suited against the runs. I don’t know…
  22. Now we can use less nickel against the run. This might help that look get fresh again for opposing OC’s.
