Maybe as the oldest RB in the league, he gave an impassioned speech about this being his last shot. Maybe he wanted emphasize how great the guys in that room are, and that as an outsider who’s been on some great teams, he sees limitless potential. Maybe he even talked about what great leaders Diggs and Allen are, but they can’t do it alone game after game. And that the only way through, is together.
Part of good leadership is knowing when other voices need to be heard. The idea that meeting wasn’t called by Davis, Diggs, or Allen means that there is a power vacuum, is absurd. Veteran voices have a lot to say in a locker room that is struggling to find confidence and success. Especially when the effort is there.
