The guy who absolutely made this play is Kyler Murray and no one is really talking about him!

New Lego Colosseum Announced! 9,000+ pieces; $550!
Nextmanup replied to Nextmanup's topic in Off the Wall
I was disappointed that the set did not reference the velarium, but the designer seems to have gone for the way the structure looks now, not when it was new. Anyone, that can always be added in; this set is hugely upgradable and modifiable. -
So what do we think of the new colosseum? https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/colosseum-10276

What products do you absolutely stand by?

Apple computers. I still can't believe people put up with the garbage operating system from Microsoft, and the world of viruses, malware, etc., and then having to pay people to fight that stuff. -
This is just a reminder that children, generally speaking, are evil little demons. I think back to growing up mostly through grade school and how we all behaved and treated one another. A bunch of Catholic kids, too, at a private school.

Actual Windex window cleaner. I have always found that cheap no-name stuff leaves smudges and streaks. -
What is the worst ketchup foul you’ve ever witnessed?
Nextmanup replied to BarleyNY's topic in Off the Wall
I find ketchup to be pretty much straight up gross. You can do better no matter what you are trying to dress up. -
I see him remaining in his current role, just long enough to prove he can do it without Brady. Then retiring. He is obviously a super competitive guy and his world is football, but he has to retire at some point.

Question for those who witnessed the SB years?
Nextmanup replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they had won XXV, I'm pretty sure they would NOT have gone to 4. Would they have gone to 2 or 3? Maybe. Maybe not. Many players from the team back then (Mark Kelso immediately comes to mind) have commented at length on this, and believe they only made it to 4 because of that fire that burned inside them to take care of unfinished business. If they had won right away, who knows how many they would have made it back for. -
Matt Hasselbeck on QB “intangibles” and Josh...
Nextmanup replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills fans have incredibly short memories. It's usually right around 1 game long. -
And he is inconsistent. In some games he shines and is the player of the week. In other games he plays like the 25th or so best QB in the league. And these guys from around the country probably don't see much of him. When they do, they might catch him on a bad day and that then forms their impression of him as a whole. I am thinking of a few games ago when we were on FOX and Terry Bradshaw said "You are either accurate or not accurate, and Josh Allen is not accurate" or words to that effect. He was very dismissive of Allen. Josh's performance that day kind of supported his comments, but it's certainly not the whole picture of who Allen is as a player. If everyone saw all of every one of Josh's games as we do, they would probably have a more complete, nuanced picture of what Josh can do.

To me that means the league thinks the mental aspect of the game is where Allen is weak. Guys who know where the ball is going pre-snap and can get it there quickly and reliably are not blitzed that heavily b/c the blitz will just hurt the defending team. If that many people are doing it it means someone (on film) did it successfully and everyone else is copying the success of that plan. So it probably worked well at some point. Allen has clearly showed sings of mental progression in his game though. I think Bills fans could take it as a positive if we see the rate of opposition blitzes declining as time goes on.

ESPN is sort of a metaphor for societal transition taking place, in general, right now. When ESPN was invented and popular, tuning into the TV "highlight show" was how we got sports information. That day is now long gone and people who are THAT into sports have a cell phone glued to their hand 24/7 and most news is disseminated in tiny tweets and sound bytes....and for sports, most of the time, that is GOOD ENOUGH. I agree with someone up-thread who said ESPN should focus on the history of sports; they should focus on anything they can offer that is not being done better elsewhere. That means continue with live game broadcasts, well done documentaries, history of the game, maybe an in-depth interview show now and again with a big sporting name....but the notion that people are going to get their sports news from watching TV is now a dated and losing proposition.

Josh Was Hurt... Theory Inside
Nextmanup replied to DeltaDigital's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your theory doesn't address the mental side of his game, which also took a hit around the time he put on the shoulder brace. Tennessee put 7 guys in coverage and it confused Josh; others followed suit and he remained confused. We then played the worst D in the NFL on Sunday and he had a great comeback game. It will be interesting to see which Josh we get next week. -
Challenge Specialist for McDermott
Nextmanup replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have always assumed every team in the league has a "challenge process" in place which does hinge on specific people performing specific duties during the game. There is no way a HC can do it all himself, at least not very well. If the Bills aren't already doing that, yes, they certainly should implement such a procedure.
