One of the best TV shows of all time; it was filled with good acting. Best of the entire show for me was Edie Falco. Then Gandolfini. Then Lorraine Bracco. Michael Imperioli was solid, I LOVED Tony Sirico (Paulie Walnuts), Dominic Chianese (Uncle Jr.) was great, Aida Turturro....they were all solid.

LOL. 1-3. Very little has changed with this team, though some of the names are different. The PP should be good, but there's not a lot here to be excited about. The team's energy level is somewhere between dead and non-existent.

QBs with fewer than 2 playoff wins
Nextmanup replied to Bleeding Bills Blue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not really sure where the OP is coming from here. Puts up a small, random list of QBs. Some quite good, some middling, some journeymen, some stuck in bad franchises. Points out Josh Allen has won 2 playoff games to their zero. OK. -
Who thinks NFL draft guys are "good" ??? They all make colossal mistakes every year. So I agree, there are guys out there working on draft websites who could do as well. Anyone can. The information is out there and freely available to everyone.

Buffalo Bills fans are like this. It's not enough to be successful and alive at the Final 4 stage. They demand the Bills are singled out as somehow the best of everyone or have the hardest path. It's not enough that Josh Allen is a top 3 or 5 QB in the league; he needs to be the MVP of the league and it's a rigged scam if he isn't. On and on it goes.

Step 1: Rest and recovery This one is simple. After suffering a concussion, a team must provide ample rest for their player. That means limited physical and cognitive activities. Stretching is still permitted, provided the medical staff approves. Once a player has a baseline level of symptoms, they move onto the next step. Step 2: Light aerobic activities The player can participate in things like riding a stationary bike or treadmill. During this step, the player may also attend team meetings and film study. Neurocognitive testing may begin at this phase, too, meaning players will be tested to see if their baseline symptoms have increased or decreased. If there is any sign of an increase, the player must revert to the previous step. Step 3: More aerobic exercise and strength training Exercise training can increase in intensity and can even mimic some specific sport activities at this step. Players may also participate in “supervised strength training.” Step 4: Football specific activities At this point, if the player has not seen an increase in concussion symptoms, they may practice at a non-contact level. That means throwing, catching, running, or any other positional drills that do not involve contact with players or objects (e.g. dummies, sleds). If the player does not exhibit any post-practice symptoms, they can advance to the final step. Step 5: Full football activity The player can then take part in a full football practice, with pads, with full contact. One interesting stipulation is that a player can simulate this step if there is no full-contact practice left on the schedule that week (i.e. a walkthrough). Here’s how the NFL explains it: if a player cannot participate in practice or full contact with other players due to the time of year and/or rules imposed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement, simulated contact activity will suffice to satisfy this step. Once the player has fully practiced, he must be first cleared by the team physician. If he clears, he then must be examined by the Independent Neurological Consultant. If that consultant clears the player of concussion symptoms, he is free to play in the next game. As it all relates to Hockenson, Lions head coach Matt Patricia indicated that the rookie tight end would be there during Wednesday’s practice, but had not cleared protocol. Depending on his level of involvement, that appears to suggest Hockenson has progressed to at least Step 4 of the protocol. We’ll see if he advances far enough to play in Monday’s game against the Packers.

Why this game will be different than week 6
Nextmanup replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Count on Andy Reid dishing up a completely different game plan relative to the Week 6 game. We'll see all new play designs. -
Meh. He's just saying the country is anticipating a big show from Mahomes and Allen and it would be a big let down if one of them couldn't participate in the game. I didn't listen to him (I hate the guy) but I assume he wasn't seriously advocating for a delayed start to the game to accommodate Mahomes' injury.

THAT's IT! THANK YOU Huh. From 2004, and I don't really recall knowing this song. It's as though when I heard the clips I was confusing it with something else. I like the guitar player's tone he has going in this song and the catchy hook.

It's funny how the really good players always receive the most forgiveness. -

Expected to practice Wednesday. Still has the foot problem too.

I linked directly to the episode, but I just clicked on the link and see that it doesn't go to where I took it from. The WGR website sucks. It's from Schopp & Bulldog Friday January 15. Hour 3. Starts around 21:50 mark. Ill try again: https://www.radio.com/wgr550/podcasts/schopp-and-bulldog-20261/01-15-hr-3-schopp-and-the-bulldog-354684361 EDIT: The link above seems to be working.

The running game has to be there vs KC this week.
Nextmanup replied to Toyo321's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The good news is that "what got us here" keeps changing from game to game. We have not been hitting on a successful formula over and over again, waiting for someone to find a way to stop it. It speaks to the strength of the team overall as a unit. I personally view almost all run plays as a waste of a down, so I'm happy to see them throw. Now and again a running play makes sense and is the better choice. -
You have to hand it to KC. They've played this one better than the Patriots would have. How do you guarantee that Mahomes can get rushed through the concussion protocol? By claiming he has a tweaked nerve, never had a concussion, and therefore need not be subject to the rules of the protocol in the first place. It's a great scheme. The weird part is Mahomes STILL seems to be in the protocol, which I don't fully understand. This entire story has been horribly reported. I have read that he was placed in the protocol during the game on Sunday b/c he was clearly dizzy, and that symptom alone required him to be placed in the protocol. OK, that makes sense. But then why is he still in the protocol several days later if the official story is he has a nerve issue, but never had a concussion? And yet he's still in the protocol. What's the end game here? He'll play on Sunday. I'd be shocked if he doesn't. I also think he clearly DID sustain a concussion and is susceptible to another one in our game on Sunday.

I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment, but that is definitely not Easy Lover from Phil Collins. I'm guessing it's going to be a one hit wonder song that was popular in the early to mid '80s. But I can't place it, so maybe I'm way off on that!

Would Josh Allen ever consider a team friendly contract?
Nextmanup replied to sirebors's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have a lot of bias built into that. Not sure your conclusions are valid. The goal of all sports agents is to get as much $ up front in a new K, today. The goal of all GMs is to defer compensation as far away into the future as possible, while paying as little as possible. This is true. Before we all worry about how we are going to pay Josh 10 trillion dollars for the next 2 decades, can we see if he can maintain this calibre of play first? There is a TON of recent history showing superstar QBs fading as their career progresses. Ask RGIII or Wentz or Kaepernick what I'm talking about. -
Weather is the Bills kryptonite....
Nextmanup replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, bad weather at home Bills playoffs games has historically been our ally, definitely not our kryptonite. Including this year. No reason why the weather shouldn't impact US as much as, or more than, our opponents, but it has never really worked out that way. -
Do you like the term “Bills Mafia”?
Nextmanup replied to Lionel Hutz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hate it; has negative thug connotations, and most of all, because it was coined by people outside WNY who have nothing to do with the Bills. These are the same people who think Buffalo is somewhere in "Upstate NY". 👎 -
The difference for me between now and back then is that this season and this team has snuck up on me. We seem to have taken the last 2 or 3 steps of progress/development all at once late in the regular season and have "arrived" at least a season before I thought we would. It's happened quickly! Back in the '80s, it seemed like the progress was more gradual and graduated. We had ups and downs but we were always moving further up on a gradual curve of progress. We hit our high water mark (IMO) in the AFC Championship game against the Raiders. The 51-3 game. 1/20/1991. But it felt to go a bit more slowly than it has this time around. At least that is how I remember it; others back then may have experienced it differently. Also, after the Raiders game, I always assumed we would win any playoff game, including big games or tough games. I'm not there yet with this team, but we keep progressing all the time.
