Agreed. Gorgeous new climate controlled stadium; enormous supply of high quality temporary accommodation; and an entire industry catering to the pleasure of wealthy individuals already in place. It literally is the perfect locale. Like, how many years will it NOT be in Vegas. LOL

Sean McDermott Ranks 5th Among Coaches on EDJ Sports list
Nextmanup replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is an extremely narrow interpretation of his in-game decision making, which by and large has been terrible. And no, he does not do what the math suggests he do, anywhere close to most of the time. -
Is now the time to remove OJ Simpson from the wall of fame and HOF?
Nextmanup replied to Beast's topic in The Stadium Wall
From the Buffalo Bills website. Without further explanation, I say OJ stays on the wall based on this criteria alone. The wall honors OJ as a player; and not any player, but arguably the best player in franchise history. That's a significant role. The Buffalo Bills Wall of Fame was created in 1980 to honor former players, administrators and coaches who have played significant roles in the team's history. To be eligible for induction, an individual must have played with the Bills for at least three years and be retired from professional football. Also eligible are other individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Bills, including administrators and coaches. Selections are made by a distinguished panel composed of club personnel and media members. -
With The Exception Of The Colts Game We Could Be Undefeated.
Nextmanup replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall
With the exception of my height, reach, vertical jump, age, and overall athletic ability, I probably could have won this year's NBA all-star slam dunk contest. -
Game Week: Week 15 Carolina Panthers at Bills thread
Nextmanup replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh will play on Sunday. With luck, the game will be out of reach by the 3rd quarter and they can sit and rest him after having only played, more or less, a half game. That would be a real luxury right now. -
A Little Perspective: Why we shouldn't be down on the McBeane Regime
Nextmanup replied to folz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Is the difference between a good organization and a bad one simply whether or not they lucked their way into a good quarterback? It's interesting to compare organizations with the same caliber of QBs. Look at New England vs. Green Bay. Look at what NE did with Brady, and look at what Green Bay did with Rodgers. Either of those guys are more than good enough to win you a pile of rings. The difference is one organization actually did it, and the other didn't. -

Nextmanup replied to Beast's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love all of these fan-provided definitions of what the "Wall of Fame" is about. Does anyone actually have anything rooted in fact or reality? Has the Bills PR department ever made a public comment or released an article through the website that spells out exactly what the organization DOES think the WOF represents? I assume there have been some articles/quotes/statements about it over the years, but I doubt anyone in this thread has a clue what they actually are. It's a lot easier to spin your own explanation to support your personal view of the "Wall". -
The more you learn about this guy, the more interesting a character he becomes, at least from a certain perspective. He reminds me of Lance Armstrong. Both are colossal sociopaths and liars, but also extremely ambitious and talented in a narrow area. They both (Armstrong and Meyer) probably missed their real opportunity by not going into politics, where people with this collection of traits are a dime a dozen.

The greater Jacksonville, FL area is home to some of the finest examples of white trash. It's a specialty there.

It's almost like the things that make a college HC great, and an NFL head coach great, are totally DIFFERENT.
-
Good on Mr. Lambo. He played a direct role in getting a little pay back with this psycho Urban Meyer. Maybe he can form a poker club with Jon Gruden--neither will ever be coaching in the NFL again.

I think this is likely, but it's hard to prove one way or the other. I thought someone did a study at one point saying the refs DID exercise bias in favor of the home field team. That was several years ago as I remember. Consciously or sub-consciously exercising bias in that way is, I think, highly likely! But don't ask me to prove that. In short, the home team gets the benefit of the doubt, road team doesn't. Star player/veteran star player gets benefit of call, normal player does not. Successful team gets benefit of doubt, poor record team does not. If I'm an official and I see a mediocre DB covering one of the star receivers in the league, and then there's a coming together and no catch, I think it makes sense to assume the "error" was probably on the part of the mediocre DB, and not the superstar WR. If it was reversed, superstar DB and mediocre WR, the call would be the opposite. I.E., there are certain factors lurking in the back of the official's mind that might make him go one way and not the other on a 50/50 type call, and not just what was happening on the field in front of him.

Change Pass Interference to 15 yd penalty (edited title)
Nextmanup replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's why I like my proposal of the 2 tier system, even if it requires the official to exercise discretion, which is in general a bad idea. And actually, I don't think it would be hard to know which category the foul falls into, almost all of the time. I.E., I would suggest we all know, in a second, which foul is a desperate egregious measure and which is the normal type we tend to get now, where the defender is just trying to make an honest effort at a play, but fouled the WR. Failing to turn the DB's head around but otherwise being in pretty good position, but then fouling the WR, for example, would be a 15 yard penalty. Never turning around, being in bad position, and then pushing the WR to the ground prior to the ball getting there would be marked at the spot of the foul. -
This board has an attention span that is about 1 game long. Maybe 2. Right now it's all about "bad weather" and the refs screwing us as part of a deliberate, ongoing screw job. When we drop 35 on the Panthers, it will be about whatever talking point emerges from that game; the cold weather and officiating discussion will be gone.

This is pretty much true. Somewhere in this league, a solid coach will be fired this year! Maybe multiple coaches. The trick is knowing which one is excellent, which one is a clown, and everything in between. Keep in mind Pegula hired Rex Ryan and his hockey team is about to break an NHL record for playoff futility. So proceed with caution!

You love where we are?! I'd rather be sitting on the 1 seed, looking forward to that first week bye, and home field throughout the playoffs. Getting that first week bye is HUGE in terms of odds of getting to the big dance (and winning).

Looks like the Jets will be getting a lot of games in the UK
Nextmanup replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
The greedy scumbags who own this league would love nothing more than to make the NFL internationally as popular as it is in the USA. Why make billions when you can make hundreds of billions? 👎 -
So no one else will have to waste 1:04 of their life: They're wearing red jerseys this week.

This is from PFF and their league wide ratings, HEADING INTO THE 2021 SEASON: Note the italicized text. LOL 14. BUFFALO BILLS The Bills finished 10th in our final 2020 rankings, and they’ve done a great job of rebuilding the trenches over the past few years. The tackle tandem of Dion Dawkins and Daryl Williams is one of the league’s best; they finished 14th and 22nd, respectively, in overall grade last season. Dawkins has been incredibly consistent in his four NFL seasons, especially in pass protection, where he’s graded between 76.0 and 79.2 every year. Williams returns via free agency after playing well on a shrewd one-year deal. He’s bounced around the offensive line during his six-year career, but his two best seasons came in 2017 and 2020 — both of which he played right tackle from start to finish. On the interior, center Mitch Morse has graded at 67.3 and 63.3 in his two years as a starter in Buffalo, and much like the rest of his career, he’s done his best work in pass protection. Bills guards earned a mere 60.7 grade as a unit last year, an area where the team must improve in 2020. Jon Feliciano returns as the starting right guard after posting the highest run-blocking grade on the team (76.1) but also the lowest pass-blocking grade (46.4). He’s been a league-average starter over the past two years and could be pushed by Ike Boettger, Forrest Lamp and Jamil Douglas. Cody Ford is expected to start at left guard, and it’s a pivotal year for the 2019 second-rounder. He recorded just 50.3 and 53.8 grades in his first two seasons, so the Bills are hoping the common third-year breakout comes to fruition in 2021. The Bills also did a fine job of adding depth, including two monster draft picks in Tommy Doyle and Spencer Brown. Both tackle prospects are at least 6-foot-8, serving as solid developmental options behind the starting duo of Dawkins and Williams. Once again, the Bills have a solid offensive line unit and they continue to attack the position with volume. Their depth is strong, whcih should help them handle any injuries that pop up throughout the season.

Game Week: Week 15 Carolina Panthers at Bills thread
Nextmanup replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Trap games don't exist in reality. They are just something discussed by fans, along with a lot of other fictional topics.
