  1. I think there is definitely a certain kind of person who thinks: "You never know when I might need that or be thankful that I have it, so I need to hold onto it" WITH EVERYTHING. It's kind of a malady in a sense.
  2. How do you know? Watching on TV and all...who is to say who is "soft" or not. What is your basis for making the judgment?
  3. As long as we take care of business against Panthers, Falcons, Jets, we have nearly a 90% chance of making the playoffs--with a loss to NE. If we beat NE, we're in. But the time for disappointing performances is now over! We gotta perform now.
  4. Allen will play and I'll say we beat Carolina by 14+. We'll easily be a 10 point favorite. These 3 "bad" teams down the road are all mirror images of each other, and all terrible.
  5. Imagine this identical play unfolding, but with the players being reversed. I.E., a Bill defending a Buccaneer. What are the odds it's still NOT CALLED? You just know that flag would have flown! That's how WNY sports media is; it's why Jerry Sullivan is singled out as some type of villain---he's one of the few guys operates big league style and doesn't mind asking embarrassing questions. Mike Harrington will do it too.
  6. "Resigning" or "Re-signing?" There's a big difference there! If we keep him into a new K, he'll cost a fortune, way more than he's worth IMO.
  7. Disagree with that. I know he did a lot of running today and then got dinged up, but there is no real correlation b/w running more and getting hurt more. He could get just as injured in the backfield throwing the ball or being sacked, or being stepped on by his own lineman, or God knows what else. Josh's ability to run is one of the best things we do. If you choose to leave that tool in the tool box, you make us much less effective team. We almost pulled off that comeback tonight precisely because Josh was THROWING and RUNNING like a maniac!
  8. This is a popular opinion here among a certain type of fan, but when you pay Josh the money you paid him, it's not unfair to ask him to be a superstar.
  9. Actually, as long as we win the 3 "easy" games, we've got a great shot at making the playoffs. @ 88% chance according to NY Times. Beating the Patriots would be 100% chance, and much preferred, however. If we play NE like we played in the second half tonight, we'll beat them by 2 TDs +. Mac has had a great rookie year, but he ain't no Tom Brady, and he ain't no Josh Allen either.
  10. I hated the call; I was commenting on this in another thread. You are almost putting the game in the hands of the official, daring him to the throw the flag, which they aren't going to do. I don't like that play to begin with; it's a very "touchy" sort of play and it can easily end up incomplete for many different reasons. Overthinking things is definitely a weakness of his.
  11. I believe Count Dorkula was clarifying the position of Bull Buchanan above.
  12. 3 and 1 is highly likely to get us into the playoffs. If we play NE like we played in second half tonight, we'll beat NE by a couple TDs.
  13. Of course it is. Throwing that boot on immediately is just a thing to help with healing or prevent any further injury. Doesn't mean he's finished. I bet he plays next week.
  14. We will be 10+ point favorites in all the games remaining except NE. We win those 3 and we are probably in the playoffs. We beat NE and we win the division!
  15. Maybe he will see more action in the wake of this game.
  16. Soft lob meant to be high-pointed by a tall receiver. Agreed. It puts the game in the hands of the refs, sort of daring them to throw the flag, which you know they aren't going to do in that situation.
  17. The explanation is a very low football IQ. He has no feel for the game and doesn't anticipate; he reacts. Some of his football skills are not very good either, despite his raw athleticism. He can't shed blocks, for example.
  18. It's coaching. This same discussion is taking place in many different threads now. In a close game, coaching can be the difference between winning and losing. Our in-game decision making is not good and it's a problem that isn't going away any time soon. All we can do is outscore our opponents by so much it doesn't matter.
  19. He's 6'2" and 210 lbs and physical. He got that huge first down today fighting for every inch. Is there another receiver on this team who makes that same play?
  20. Chiefs are the one team we are built to beat, and in fact, already did so! I know, they were "off" at that time but still...
  21. We will be 10+ point favorites in the 3 remaining non-Patriots games. We will win those. If we beat NE, we can still win the division! BUT, the time for talk is over; we must perform starting NOW. I think we will do it; I said as much in the post game thread immediately after the loss today.
